If gender identity is nonsense, then there is evidence that trans people have the same brains of their internal gender. No other method bar medical transition has worked in aiding them. People can "give them therapy!" That's nonsense. Therapy has limits. Therapy cannot cure depression necessarily. It cannot cure all mental illnesses or conditions.

Sex is naturally biological and fixed; gender is a social construct based on societal rules. there is no absolute prescription of how men and women should behave socially. Gender roles are not solely based on perceived physical sex-based. Transgenderism is valid. It's clear there are some people born with an incongruence between their internal gender and external sex characteristics. And gender transition is the best option known to correct this.

never got canada. it's pretty cultureless. there is no distinct vibe that makes Canada stand out. It's contrary to Australia, which like Canada was a former "white Dominion" british colony. Yet, Australia has a distinctness in its vernacular, sports, foods, etc. Crocodile Dundee was a stereotype but it still symbolished "Aussieness". Canada doesn't have that. Proximity to the USA isn't an excuse. If anything, that should reinforce distinctness. the growth in use of Welsh and Gaelic in Wales and Scotland are examples of this.
