  1. I don't mean to be contrarian, but, when I read this, I couldn't help the many "what-abouts" bubbling up in my mind. There's different types of meaning, isn't there? There's the type of meaning which is best understood as an inner-experience, a construction of the human mind. But, there's also the meaning of outer-manifestations, which are almost universal. Simple, Concrete, down-to-earth meaning? The "handle for the axe", for example. The cavity in the piston. The hanger for the jacket. Dovetail joints. Etc. While, these concrete "meanings", if you'll permit its usage here, seem trivial, what if they're not?
  2. The answer is simple and for most utterly unsatisfying. Because of that, knowing the answer doesn't end the corresponding inner turmoil. Question: "Why do we even exist?" Answer: "Because Infinity is incomplete without us." Why is always casting backwards, looking into the past, reliving it, completing the narrative with "could-be-events". It can be useful, but many abuse this type of cognition, like a drug.
  3. No. Those who are fully conscious behave in a manner which is consistent with their natural inclinations and potential. Love is inherent, in each and everything, and beyond, as a vessel, which can be empty, full, or anything in-between.
  4. "It wasn't missing till someone started looking for it, and it's always found in the least expected places." ------------------------------ "When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, traps the back of your head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues... you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
  5. So, the world isn't exploding, but, one might need to start at ground-zero, so to speak, and start over from scratch.
  6. It's the "crux". one mistake and the result is better described as falling off a mountain close to the summit.
  7. I beg to differ. That's better described as "hyperbole".
  8. Yes, and it's true recursively. In special regard to seemingly small insignificant errors: If a tiny error in orientation translates to vast errors over long distances in the physical domain, how much more so for spiritual teachings?
  9. Authentic = impulse + valence Phony = impulse lacking valence XOR valence lacking impulse.
  10. Perception is a function of expectation. Part of awakening is realizing this and unlearning how to compensate for the illusion.
  11. Seth, You're fired. This is a fool's errand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Set_(deity)
  12. To everything... turn, turn, turn There is a season... turn, turn, turn
  13. Non-physical entities do not behave in the same way as physical entities. For example, they do not break down over time. They are eternal. Timeless. Love is a non-physical entity. It doesn't break down over time. Instead, when it's "true love", absence makes the heart grow fonder.
  14. Each and every "thing" possesses 3 qualities: Essence Being Existence Existence is its physical manifestation. Being is it's function, "what it's doing". Essence is the absolute minimum, smallest, simplest example of it.
  15. It's brilliant. I loved reading it. I look forward to reading it again. ^^ My favorite part, on the first read ^^ Ah. You've met my soon to be ex-wife? ~sarcasm~
  16. ... we're all headless-horsemen, now ...
  17. Which begs the question? What is Truth lacking a generative principle? Can truth exist without any motive of outward expression?
  18. Not "only a result of... " "it can also be a result of a natural consequence" Fair enough
  19. Only? There's always another way. Even in a room with no windows and doors, there's a way out behind the eyes.
