  1. Too much conformity becomes harmful, and that’s exactly what school often turns into. There are more downsides than benefits. You’re right that everyone goes through a conformist phase, but school is far too restrictive to give students any real room to breathe. It creates more stress than freedom.
  2. It’s not abuse because a healthy society needs rules. School is abuse because it limits consciousness with false claims and teaches obedience instead of questioning. It’s not healthy. The fixed schedules for when to wake up and when to stop aren’t natural, and the system isn’t adapted to human needs.
  3. Starting to see that lust isn’t really about the other person. It feels like they have something, beauty, energy, aliveness, but the actual experience is happening within me. So what I’m really chasing isn’t the form, but a state of consciousness that gets triggered through the form. This explains obsession you think the source is “out there,” so you keep chasing it. But if you look directly, the feeling is self-generated. At the same time, it’s not like the other person is irrelevant. The form still matters as a trigger. So it’s like the experience is internal the trigger is external Still trying to see clearly where projection ends and actual connection begins.
  4. I agree with that perspective.
  5. Thank you!
  6. Mindfulness and journaling can help, sure. But I wonder if there’s a point where observation turns into over-analysis, and you end up watching life instead of fully engaging with it
  7. Correct
  8. @No1Here2c Great comments
  9. You know what your problem is? You think if you think hard enough, you’ll escape the chaos of being human. News flash you won’t. You’ll always be ahead of your reality and behind your expectations. That’s just how it goes. Nobody cares how clearly you see life. They care what you do in it.
  10. I’m glad you became rebellious at such a young age, otherwise you would never have become a mod on this forum 🌟🥳
  11. Sounds like your brain is stuck in a threat loop after what happened. A guy laughing once isn’t really a new threat, I get why it still messes with you though after everything that happened before. Try not to go too deep into the thoughts when they show up, it just turns into more scenarios in your head. Also just because you feel scared doesn’t always mean you’re in danger right now, sometimes your body is just reacting to old stuff.
  12. Sorry, I read your comment too quickly and assumed you were also talking about me. I apologize for my behavior. I was very triggered by someone else as well and was a bit too harsh towards him too. But then I agree with you that the others who talk about a God who can make conscious choices don’t have strong arguments. I would actually say it’s impossible to have strong arguments in that kind of position because there are too many flaws for it to be salvaged.
  13. I never said I accept the premise of an agential God. My point was more about the usefulness of moral labels like ‘all-good’ in general.
  14. If you really think that, then you’re either an idiot or someone with a big ego. What you’re saying isn’t anything higher-level than what anyone else has said in this forum. Your attitude and your arguments are just as bad as your personality. You’re like a pick-me girl, except no one actually wants to give you much attention because you’re a tragic mess.
  15. I’m not saying everything that causes harm should be banned or controlled. I just think we need to be honest about ideas, especially the ones that shape kids. Some harm might be unavoidable, but that doesn’t automatically make it acceptable or something we shouldn’t criticise. And I’m not only talking about religion here, anything that discourages critical thinking or uses fear should be questioned.
  16. It’s not evil because existence doesn’t care about survival. You only see these things as evil because you think survival is the most important thing, but the reality is that it is not, and suffering is beautiful. And this comes from a guy who suffers right now and has lost so much hope because I’m stuck in a deep loop. You have to understand that if a person dies with cancer, that’s not evil, that’s life. You need to stop comparing it so that if a person survives cancer, that is somehow better than if they didn’t. If we are only talking from the ego’s perspective, then of course it is better that someone survives, but in the bigger picture there is no good or bad.
  17. @Hatfort Just because millions of people come out of it fine doesn’t make it right. People survive bad ideas all the time that doesn’t mean the ideas deserve a free pass. The real question is whether it’s true, and whether it teaches people to think for themselves or just obey. And yeah, you can call it ‘acceptance’ all you want, but if you teach kids not to question or feed them fear like eternal punishment, that still leaves a mark, even if it doesn’t break everyone.
  18. Let’s start over, I have said that it is wrong not to allow children to question things they learn from others, it is not wrong that children go to church or to a Buddhist temple, but it must be questioned, and in churches, I hope you know what a church is, there is over 80 percent discouragement of questioning their beliefs, please try to understand what I’m saying, you say so much but still very little wisdom comes out of you.
  19. By religion I mean belief in the supernatural or a god, often with rituals and worship.
  20. Like I said, you don’t understand deep things. I know exactly what you meant, so stop twisting it. And you have not shown why my arguments are wrong, you just say they are wrong. You sound like this: ‘Why is the Bible true? Because it is true!’ Do you see how stupid that sounds? And somehow you’ve made religious people seem more thoughtful than you, which should be impossible, because your arguments and responses are worse than the Bible and I use the Bible as toilet paper. If you respond with something cringe again, then our conversation is over.
