It's not that simple. Like I said, that was a consenzus sometimes in the previous century, but the new consenzus is that for LDL cholesterol (the bad one) to be trully harmfull you need a certain level of sugar consumption, which increases the trully bad LDL particles (smaller, denser). But as long as you eat high quality, low fat and non processed meat (not too much thermally processed either), you will be fine and you will be healtier than a vegan, whose diet lacks over 5 micronutrients. Looks like I have to keep hammering this point down Also vegans are also at risk of strokes, just a bit of a different kind. -

Actually not at all. I just think that the fact you're so emotional and willing to prove something to people who don't even know you and you don't even know them, and compete with them. Sounds pretty insecure and yeah, word beta comes to mind. People like Tate would actually encourage men to compete over petty BS seeing as they have a lot of insecurity themselves -

It is a specific claim about health. My omnivore diet is going to grant me superior health compared to most vegans on this planet. Based on, you know, literal facts. I don't deny that for some people veganism works and is genuinely healthy because it's simply that their genetics is different, influenced by what their ancestors ate. But these people are moreso a rarity. Most people's ancestors hunted a lot and ate a lot of meat, therefore most people's genetics is tailored to that. Most people need meat and/or animal products. Claiming otherwise is completely delusional. There are basically only 2 things you can do about it - 1. genetic engineering on the next generation before they're born, or 2. mass producing high quality lab meat. Both of these are theoretically possible, we are just not there yet. And it's going to be still challenging. Overall, I agree with you in one fundamental thing - ultimately we should be aiming towards decreasing suffering, any suffering. Including animal one. But it can't happen yet because we aren't capable of the aforementioned things, and that's what you peahead vegans refuse to understand. Seeing as physical health is very closely linked to mental health, I therefore made the general claim I have made. I don't need to name any specific vegan and compare myself against him, since this applies mass scale to most of them. That sounds pretty insecure and beta, not gonna lie. I think I'm done with this discussion -

I mean... feeling better than me on what basis? Anything to back that claim up? Anything at all? LMAO -

It kinda is, ngl. If you did a little study on this topic you would realize why It's not just about lifespan, but the quality of life as well. I'll feel significantly better than a vegan in this lifetime I'm not going to get into morality of it as that is a difficult topic and honestly irrelevant from the health standpoint. But I understand that it is unpleasant to actually kill an animal, unfortunately I'm not going to starve myself out just to stand on some sort of moral highground and save a bunch of animals. But if there was a way (or once there's going to be a way) to make an artificial meat which would be 100% the same as a fresh meat you would get from an animal (but 100% guarantee that it's going to be dissease free since it's made in a lab) and it's readilly availible for affordable prices, you know I'd be switching to that kind of meat in a second. I feel that this is really the only actual solution to this dilema. But of course the meat would have to be legit and trustworthy with all the nutrients, minerals etc. -

Except the one with cholesterol doesn't hit as hard since it's negative effects are way wayyy overblown. Everyone knows that the real culprit is actually sugar. And I don't care about debating. Eventually we'll see the effects of our diets on ourselves, and I'd dare to bet that I'm going to be fairly well off in that regard -

@Quader @Buck Edwards I'm an omnivore. Only thing not entirely clear to me is how to balance my veggies, carbs and meat/animal products and whether I should even eat carbs, etc. I don't have a very good diet at the moment but I wanna get there -
NewKidOnTheBlock replied to Whitney Edwards's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
Depends on what kind of meat you eat. It's funny how all you vegans can name only one potential symptom while I can name at least a dozen for the vegan diet😂 -

I don't know, do as you wish😄 doesn't matter, just a silly observation. Just think it tells you something about the human psyche and how it likes to find the things it lacks somewhere else Don't forget about those 5 micronutrients btw😄 -
Noone here is rich and will never be. Those books will not make you rich either. The best you can hope for in terms of money is to have a good decently paying job and that's pretty much it. Gotta keep it realistic cause noone does here

Notice how he thinks of animals as children. Typical vegan. That's so sad. Animals do look cute but you should have your own children to protect -
I get disguisted just by watching it on the screen, these guy's stomachs must be something else even if they are wearing hazmat suits. I would prefer to just set the whole thing ablaze by a flamethrower, honestly Btw it's crazy that there are people on this planet that differ so much from us in terms of their language and alphabet. Part of me feels like I am watching alien comercial

That is actually very accurate post, down to a tee. It is selfish and it is absolutely impossible for polygamy or any relationship other than "1 man + 1 woman" to work on a mass scale. It can only "work" for some normal people in an individual rare circumstances (but even then there's no proof of a such a relationship structure working long term, as in, for decades upon decades. There is zero proof of that in reality.) Or, when an individual, ussually a man, holds a significant ammount of power in a society and a society itself accepts or even encourages this behaviour from this particuliar individual. For example, sultan and his harem would come to mind, in that enviroment there would be enough stability to raise multiple children from multiple women seeing as it's accepted by society and other people serve you in raising them. Other than that, it is absolutely impossible, there has to be monogamy

I'd talk to you as I know that feeling all too well, but I can't send any messages

That's actually insane. This Lex Fridman guy would actually talk to anyone That he even managed to set it up, is almost comical -
LOL idk man. What a mystery. Let's think about it, hmmmm

Maybe, but I don't think icebaths are good for the health at all. And I guess you mean mental energy, because probably any old fart can have enough testosterone to go see multiple prostitutes, regardless of his health. He definitely does look a bit aged with that greyish beard as well, but not that much I guess since he's 49 apparently. Maybe he's doing other things right which counteract the ice bath stupidity, who knows

This sounds like a bit of a strawman, althought OP made that argument, I don't personally think "age of addition" would be a good full encompassing term for the age we are currently living in. Which specific era of history do you have in mind while comparing our time to an X time in the past? "Less than 100 years ago" means what? WW2, Great Depression? Human history travers constantly from times of prosperity and peace to times of war and death and then back to peace. The only constant of history that doesn't behave like a crypto chart is our technological progress during the last 200 years or so. Do you honestly know that tho, or is it just a catchy phrase you have memorized? Especially this one with our lives being better than a medieval king, seems easy to remember. You do realize a king owned literaly A WHOLE ASS KINGDOM LOL we can't even own our little petty boxes we call appartments and homes. King could do whatever and whenever pretty much as long as it didn't piss off his nobility (and therefore the army) or neighbouring kingdoms. We on the other hand can't even piss off our coworkers because they could notify your boss and suddenly that little wage would be in danger LOL In fact, medieval peasant lives are pretty competitive to ours in this regard, if you trully look at the stats. Better than medieval kings? Quite a stretch LOL -
This thread is a good read. A lot of both well thought out and thought provoking posts. Need to brush up on my understanding of geopolitics

None. The model looks too pretentious and simplistic to me. I am not higher nor lower in development than anyone on this Planet, nor am I better or worse of a human because of it. We just have different genetics and upbringing, that's all
-
@Sincerity Can't delete the truth from reality itself, unfortunately😥

Let's make an actualized.org chess app. We'd do monthly or bi weekly tournaments and whoever has the highest ELO by the end of that time period gets a free jab of DMT in the ass😂

NewKidOnTheBlock replied to FourCrossedWands's topic in Life Purpose, Career, Entrepreneurship, Finance
But it is literaly constructed and wired in such a way to make you addicted, literaly. This is an undisputable fact. And the only reason for that is capitalism and an endless chase of profit. People 1000 years ago lived a better life than an average human today in some metrics. Search for yourself if you don't believe me. It doesn't matter what "rapid developmental growth" you're going to do, whatever that means. If you are literaly in a competition with a whole world while trying to find a job, house prices and rents are ungodly high and rising of wages can barely cover inflation, or not even that. "Laziness and cowardice" are at this point boomer talking points. Just complete brainwashing There is no conspiracy. It's just capitalism at play, plain and simple. -
So you're just playing long games against bots. Playing a 10 minute games against humans is a whole different ball game, it's very competitive on chess.com. These A.I. bots that try to imitate various levels of human ELO ussually do a pretty bad job at it, because they do it by making random blunders at random times, some of them too ridicilous for a higher rated player
