You are still bound by your social conditioning. It’s how the human species operates. Unlike animals that can just do what they want which some might say they are luckier than humans I guess. -

Only when it suits you. Unless you choose to walk around naked, which you won’t because of your self consciousness. 😎 -

Well let’s just add to the endless list of human cliches, cliques and platitudes shall we… What can be seen as complicated, can actually, be very simple. And what can be seen as simple, can actually, be very complicated. So what do you think of me now for knowing that kind of wisdom? -

Mind body is what you are. This is just obviously irrefutable. Now you are aware of yourself, you can use the power of memory, you can remember the time before you became aware of yourself. Your language in the form of concepts was your conception? Ask yourself what were you before human conceptual language? Answer that question without using human conceptual language, okay. 👍 Mind and body is all there is, in this conception. A conceived conception is what you are right here and now. There’s no way to unconceive this conception, once the genie is out of the bottle, there’s no way back to the nothingness prior to knowledge in this conception, not now you have awakened to the truth. -

It means whatever you want it to mean. I’d already transcended the illusion of separation at the age of 6/7 years old, it was a spontaneous awakening, and long before I ever picked up a book of esoteric knowledge for the very first time. Each to their own, don’t ever tell me how to think this one through, please, thankyou. -

Yes, indeed, it takes two to tango. A play is pointless without an audience to enjoy it, or throw rotten tomatoes at it, that’s the point of the illusion, is to veil, to fool and to con, but only for it’s own entertainment only. -
Mellowmarsh replied to James123's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Pointless. The whole point of an illusion is for the illusion to not be seen through so that the game is humanly playable. Yes, once the illusion is seen through, there’s no returning to the game of pretence. But then something more incredible happens, people become more real, more compassionate, more capable of endurance, able to face the cold hard truth of the illusion head on without fear or resentment. No more trying to be someone they are not, rather just being absolutely authentic and real without the need for external approval, and people are attracted to that kind of self confidence. .it gives them hope and reminds them of their own inner strength. Once the sense of selfish self dissolves, all that’s left to do is to offer service to others. Or you might just decide to quit the game entirely and live as a solo hermit for the rest of your life. The choice to be or not to be is yours, ultimately. -

Even saying there is NO ( insert label ) is simultaneously affirming the labels existence. This mental activity may well be an artificially constructed oxymoron only found within the syntax of conceptual language, is still a natural part of the entire aggregate of this conscious living alive experience, which cannot be refuted or denied. So it can’t even be not this, not that, both, yet neither, because even the concept of NON is all inclusive of the ALL TIME to burn all those Advaita books, and move on to alternative ways of living, maybe just stop cancelling out what can never not be here. It’s a worn out record now, needs to be revised, updated to something more human and coherent. -

Hey Joseph, I think saying “there is no…..”human separate self” or “no anything” is a pointless teaching, it doesn’t actually serve us any purpose really, how could it. The whole point of the illusion of separation was to not realise the separation was an illusion. I mean why would nature even bother to factor in the self-aware human being capable of possessing conceptual language that constructed every conceivable concept known, as a language tool. If there’s no self, or no mind, then the announcement of such a “ NO” would have been impossible to make, it takes a self to say there’s no self, which is nonsensical. There is without doubt or error “human conceptual language” and it’s clearly being used all the time. To deny it’s validity is absurd. The Human life form evolved to be a self-conscious, private body, privacy is inherently important to human life form, clearly. So yes we HAD to be separate, we value our unique private individualities. If we didn’t recognise our need for privacy, then our entire human system as it is currently playing out in the world would have been absolute disorder and chaos. Outside of human language, yes, there’s absolutely zero knowledge of anything, literally nothing known whatsoever. Just an infinite unknowable universe. -

The demand for knowledge is what builds up the story of me from what’s already been stored to memory. Therefore the memory is what creates the sense of being “me” in the present whenever there is a demand for “me” to appear. But yes, there’s no such thing as thought, except as imagined dreamscape, aka, memory. In reality, thought is not necessary to be. Real beingness is thoughtless. Real is simply just what’s happening, that doesn’t require any memory about it. Reality is always original, not a replay, or repeat. -
Mellowmarsh replied to inFlow's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Reality is this immediate endless unfoldment in constant flux. Reality is an unconditional free flowing aliveness ever new, ever fresh, impossible to be repeated. So even as you are being filled up ( getting ) you are simultaneously being emptied ( losing ) as reality is constantly changing, and so you can never become a fixed thing, ever. -

“Originality” is a concept known. Known concepts are fictions that know nothing. Asking what is an original thought is like asking what is an original aggregate. The answer is already in the question. A question arises only to the sense of self in this conception, within the fictional dream of separation. -

Solipsism is reification, neither proven or disproven, just an interpretation, a theory. Simply, how can “one thing” or even “one not a thing” exist? Solipsism is pointing to an idea that’s an unprovable truth. There’s nothing to gain from solipsism no more than there’s nothing to gain by realising there are infinite infinities. -

@Someone here “For Becker, this is literally true: Normality is our collective, protective madness, in which we repress the truth of the human condition, and those who have difficulty playing this game are the ones we call mentally ill.” — David R. Loy -

My personal direct experience or knowing showed me that I still had to act out a separate role one way or the other, and that either which way I acted, nothing would have changed, or impacted my life to how I lived it. After transcending the illusion of separation, I still had to act as though separation existed. Before transcendence, everyone was separate from me, and then after, everyone was still separate from me, but this time I had to fake a separate relationship with them, because I knew they were just me in a different meat suit, and that they were not separate from me, but I couldn’t tell them. I wouldn’t say a word, well not at least until they mentioned it first, and then only then would I mention yeah I understand what you mean. -

But what would you be lying about, to yourself and others? -
Mellowmarsh replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Then don’t say a word, be yourself and act normal. Just fit in with the normal like you’ve been doing your whole life. -

You are the unproven Truth.
