  1. i have the same! Great battery life.
  2. Really cool! I will try it out.
  3. The problem with milk is it's one of the youngest staples introduced in the human diet (only 8k years ago). It works well for some people but badly for others. It has to be individualized. It also has nutrients one may want to avoid, depending on their goals and nutrition philosophy. Leaving aside environmental issues. I drank milk my entire life yet was diagnosed with osteopenia a decade ago (while still drinking it daily). One single food is not a guarantee. Also, a modern Holstein cow produces 5–10x more milk than it normally would feeding a single cattle, making Ca supplementation required to keep the cow relatively healthy for modern milk production — the cow can't naturally get the amount of Ca required from diet alone. So you're either supplementing directly or indirecly; supplementing the cow requires 3x more Ca than supplementing the human. Also, for curiosity: most Ca supplements come from limestone — most of it formed on the floors of ancient seas over tens to hundreds of millions of years — a chunk of it from seashells and bones of marine animals. So at the end of the day the Ca we drink or supplement is coming from these ancient sea creatures
  4. I def can; I'm just saying we don't know that for sure. When it comes to health, I prefer to not risk it on something that may or may not be reliable. In my case for example I was deficient and not craving Ca-rich foods, so at least for me it's unreliable.
  5. Def true for things like sodium and water, but I guess we can't assume this for Ca. Mechanistically, Ca deficiency is silent: blood calcium drops make PTH rise, pulling Ca from bone, so there's no acute signal. The deficit usually shows up decades later as bone loss. Ca deficiency is a long-term problem, whereas Na deficiency kills in days. Of course the signal could come from different ways and perhaps even from PTH, but notice the craving hypothesis is an assumption we can't take for granted. If that would be the case perhaps we'd have way less people with nutrient deficiency. Also, notice that modern ultraprocessed foods completely hijack the sensing mechanisms so people can go decades consuming empty calories without adjusting for nutrient deficiency, so even if it exists it's a somewhat weak and vulnerable system.
  6. I guess my Mg and Oxalate intake is what makes me require that much extra Ca from supplements. Or something about how my body absorbs it.
  7. Haha I guess he’ll soon come around. Related to frutarianism or frugivorism, I’ve got the Ca deficit diagnosis while on a fruit-heavy diet. Nowadays, most of my carbs still come from fruits. I’ve just decided to supplement. Below you can see the average daily intake of Ca associated to each food. I eat pretty much all of those daily.
  8. Excluding supplements, I hit these values for minerals. It is possible, but as I mentioned above it may not be enough... Each person's metabolism is different. Notice that some of my target values are even increased — customized to be even higher than what the RDA would suggest.
  9. Another thing to consider is number of meals/day. Ca absorption saturates at around 400mg, so if you only eat, e.g., twice daily, your fractional Ca absorption drops making the total absorption lower compared to eating more times a day.
  10. The key is to track calcium markers such as PTH, serum Ca and P, 25-OH-Vit-D, 24h urinary Ca, among others. On Cronometer, I eat 1000mg+ of Ca from diet daily and ~400mg Oxalate. Yet, I was Ca deficient, with elevated PTH and low serum P. I discovered I need to supplement 600-1000mg on top of that, reaching an estimated total intake of 1600-2000mg to hit the PTH and urinary Ca excretion targets I'm after. A blood test like this followed by appropriate intervention can save one from osteoporosis and fractures 30 years down the road.
  11. Hahaha amazing. I never managed to get a hold of MALT yet. Looking forward to my first encounter with the magical substance.
  12. Nice, thanks for the reference. I'm now thinking: the problem now becomes maling them potentially illegal substances for testing 😂
  13. If you live in Switzerland you can take it to a specialized test source (provided by the government for free) and they test it for you. I tested 5-MeO-DMT once via such service and it came back >99% purity with no other detected substances. Depending on where you live you could see if such services exist. It's also a good idea to take a small(er) dose first time you open a new batch.
  14. Wow, I didn't know this fact about billionaires in Sweden. But I guess that should be in the EU, which does not consider Switzerland, right? I lived in Stockholm for 2y and I agree the immigration wave left deep scars in the entire Swedish society. That said, when you say "economy is shit right" — I'm curious to understand what is your reference point. I'm saying this because in my view (pls correct if wrong) Sweden is so left (that being a good thing) compared to the vast majority of EU countries, let alone countries like the US and others. Curious to learn in what ways you think the economy should be further improved in Sweden.
  15. Wow — that sounds wild — looking forward to it a lot more after your comment @MsNobody! And looking forward to meeting up in another occasion. Maybe I grow the courage to attend Burning Man at some point. Btw, this same org doing the Iceland Eclipse will do Egypt Eclipse next year. Also something to keep an eye on. I'll see how this one goes. Cheers from 🇮🇸
  16. Nice! Makes sense. I'm now traveling through Iceland and using pumpkin seeds as one of my staples Hahaha that's awesome! I did the same, and I believe veggiers (fiber) recommendations are way below what's optimal. But that also depends a lot on (the microbiota of) the individual. Yes, this argument makes a lot of sense. It's what got me into supplementation in general.
  17. There is! There is even a "veggie meter" (I have yet to add this device to my longevity-tracking arsenal): https://phytomedicine.plantsforhumanhealth.ncsu.edu/veggie-meter/ It may not likely reduce all types of UV damage caused to the skin but at least is seems to reduce visible redness, or the time it takes for it to develop. Wow - that is wild, I find very long hair so attractive. I didn't know pumpkin oil have carotenoids. Do you take it as a supplement? I was going to say that the hair benefits would be due to Zinc, but apparently the Zinc that pumpkin seeds contain does not go into the oil when it's extracted, so it could well be the carotenoids, or something else...
  18. I'll be at https://icelandeclipse.com/ in case someone is going. In some ways the opposite of burning man 😂
  19. Astaxanthin seems promising. I take 4mg/day. Siim Land talks a lot about it. Eating carotenoid-rich foods seems to be protective too.
  20. Glad that it was useful. For me it doubles the length, but since DMT trips for me last 5-10 minutes, the longest I got with the B. Caapi TPA extract I use as MAOI was 15 minutes. It could be that the extract I have is not so potent. For MAOI dosage this is a good reference:
  21. See the work of Valter Longo and the fast mimicking diet.
  22. Btw, another thing to keep in mind is you could use MAOIs 1h prior to smoking n,n-DMT, AKA "vaporhuasca". For me, MAOIs require HALF the dose for a slightly longer breakthrough trip, than I would get without MAOIs. PS: Don't ever use MAOIs with 5-MeO-DMT.
  23. See my post below. I've been using it to easily vaporize breakthrough doses of freebase DMT, and extremely reliably. For DMT I use the Shapphire atomizer, which has better heat conductance. Not sure you can import it to Peru, but anyway worth sharing.
