  1. Learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else. Leonardo da Vinci But I think apophenia means seeing patterns where their are none.
  2. Of course he is soulless, but what he really recommends people do is to follow something with high employment rate and what they are good at; not just what they are passionate about. Makes alot of sense if you think about it. For those who don't know what they want to do, picking something they have a natural talent for and sticking with it makes alot of sense. This is way better than doing nothing.
  3. Be apart of that change in that country. You said it yourself that you are above average intelligence. Join a political group, rise up the ranks, and influence it in the direction you think is best. Use actualized methods like spiral dynamics, God, etc , to EFFECTIVELY (without getting yourself killed) be a leader in that country.
  4. Yes just pick someone and love them.
  5. No, the idiot was actually serious when he said that.
  6. Nobody is 100% wrong or bad. So if we want to be fair we have to admit Trump has at least some good ideas. I think he would handle Ukraine and Palestine as good or slightly better than Harris (because he is closer to the stage of development to those people). I also think being tough on China is a good policy of Trump's. We are buying unsustainable amounts of cheap junk from China, ruining the environment and making China rich in the process. At the same time this supports a slave trade in Asia to make the junk. Then we have the audacity to complain that China is using its wealth (that the west gave it) for nefarious actions across the world. It's a short- sighted, greedy, and stupid thing to do. However Trump has so many other negative attributes it's not worth risking him as President.
  7. They are eating cats and dogs! They are eating the pets of the people that live there!
  8. I expect good things for you in the future. Thanks for sharing and bringing up first hand experience about this relevant topic to personal and societal development. Developed countries had to go through their own period of development similar to what your country is going through now. Progress comes at a cost. Maybe this is your call to action to be part of your society's development. Maybe you are the hero your country is looking for.
  9. Sorry to hear that. Yes we often feel lucky to live in the developed western world. What country are you in?
  10. https://actualized.org/insights/thaddeus-russell-post-modernist-part-2 I think what Thaddeus is saying in his debate with Paterson is that without socialization you wouldn't even have conscious experience. Conscious experience is a social construct. Similar to how the Inuit have different words for snow that allows them to see different kinds of snow better than a someone from the city. Perhaps if you grew up completely alone, without contact with people or animals (maybe in a lab experiment). You wouldn't learn to label your experience as "conscious experience". So you wouldn't even know A=A. Perhaps you would be like a crocodile and not even aware you are alive.
  11. The duality paradox I'm referring to relates to Leo's video on "all dualities must collapse". We see dualities everywhere: child vs adult, night vs day, dead v alive, outside v inside, stage blue v stage orange. Leo, philosophers, and sociologists correctly point out that there is obviously no exact moment or day a child turns into an adult. Similarily this is true with every other duality. The paradox is that a rational person can't deny that both children and adults exist but a rational person also can't say when a childhood ends and adulthood begins. So if one thing never officially turns into another, how can a rational person even say that thing exist? How do we resolve this paradox?
  12. Interesting. So after post-modernism comes metamoderism.
  13. Who are these postmodernists that Peterson, Dugan, and James Lindsay are having a backlash to? Is it solely the SJWs on college campuses? Where else does postmodernism exist? What cultures are postmodern? I'm not sure if the Leos video answered this question or not.
  14. What do you mean by metamodernity? What's your evidence or rational for this?
  15. Very interesting! Never thought of Trump as part of postmodernism. I wonder what Leo or others would say to this.
  16. Who are these postmodernists that Peterson, Dugan, James Lindsay, modernists, and premodernists are so against? Is it solely the SJWs on college campuses? Where else does postmodernism exist that has the modernists so riled up? I'm not sure if the Leos video answered this question or not.
  17. Who's the observer of all that?
  18. Sadguru and others say looking at sex as merely an act of reproduction is the best way to approach sex and relationships. It explains all the behavior of the people involved in a relationship. All the emotional and physical pleasure sex and relationship provides is the nector that evolution and DNA has produced to trick people to mate. Everytime you are flirting with a potential mate just realize what you are implicitly doing. Setting the stage to reproduce. Looking at it this way makes relationships so much easier and helps avoid unnecessary drama.
  19. God creates by loving everything and letting it be itself, whatever that self may be. This also means God is indifferent and does care more about one thing or person over another. How can God be both eternally loving AND indifferent? Should we as God "love" everything or should we be "indifferent" to everything? Any thoughts or advice?
  20. The current polarization is toxic and hypocritical. Ironically, both sides condemn personal attacks (e.g., mocking appearance, speech, or mannerisms), yet frequently employ these same tactics as insults.
  21. It's such a clever trick that it even ensnares people who can't have kids like 50+ and gay people.
