Weed (especially edibles) could most definitely be considered a psychedelic. It has the ability to bring about inspired and profound thoughts, and it connects you to a deeper part of your mind. In my opinion though, it pales in comparison to the serotonin-based molecules like DMT. If you can do so safely, and you feel called to it, I'd keep a lookout for those. Very interesting, I haven't researched weed so I wasn't aware of this. I guess it backs up the psychedelic classification even more.

Sounds like a type of nirvikalpa samadhi to me. Any interest in expanding on how you got to that point, what technique you used, etc? No problem if not. -

I was listening to Alan Watts once, and he asked a question that blew my mind. "Where is the universe/reality?" On the surface it seems trivial, but it can have the same effect as a koan if you let your mind sink into the question. When the human mind considers the location of something, it's always in relation to something else. Logic breaks down when you try to figure out where the hell reality could possibly be. And you ultimately realize, using more of a feeling than a thought, that it's nowhere. -
I truly appreciate the forum and the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with like-minded individuals. It's the only place where I can be uninhibited in saying what I really believe. Thanks so much, Leo.

Just for the record for my perspective, it's not quite the best in my opinion, though it is special. The dream team of 5-MeO-DMT and DMT can't be beat. One represents work with the superconscious and the other represents the subconscious, which both play a role in the human experience. They're also both endogenous to the human body, so their effectiveness and "naturalness" of action is amazing. I'm very grateful to live in a time where we have this level of access and understanding.

Mushrooms can undoubtedly put you in extreme states of consciousness, but they seem to be lacking that energetic component in my experience. Same with DMT. Or rather, they have an energetic component, but it doesn't affect and awaken the energetic system to nearly the same degree. I honestly don't know, it's quite the mystery.

Here's a basic list of various psych/receptor affinities, as well as a link to an older blog created by Leo. I suppose these shouldn't be read into to an excessive amount. Scientists don't seem to have a solid grasp on how psychedelics create their effects in general. The 5-HT1A activity stands out though. It would appear it plays a role in the modulation of the sense of self, and it's likely at least correlated to what causes the ego death experience. https://actualized.org/insights/psychedelic-receptors LSD: 5ht1a = 3.73, DMT: = 0.00, psilocin = 2.88, mescaline = 3.61, 5-meo-DMT: = 4.00 (make up >80% of brain 5-ht) LSD: 5ht1b = 4.00, DMT: = 0.00, psilocin = 2.19, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 2.41 LSD: 5ht1d = 3.70, DMT: = 3.91, psilocin = 3.40, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 3.48 LSD: 5ht1e = 2.62, DMT: = 3.28, psilocin = 3.03, mescaline = 3.16, 5-meo-DMT: = 1.72 LSD: 5ht2a = 3.54, DMT: = 2.58, psilocin = 2.14, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 0.98 LSD: 5ht2b = 3.11, DMT: = 3.91, psilocin = 4.00, mescaline = 3.97, 5-meo-DMT: = 0.69 LSD: 5ht2c = 3.11, DMT: = 3.42, psilocin = 2.52, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 1.55 LSD: 5ht5a = 3.64, DMT: = 3.16, psilocin = 2.83, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 1.84 LSD: -5ht6 = 3.75, DMT: = 3.35, psilocin = 2.82, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 2.73 LSD: -5ht7 = 3.77, DMT: = 4.00, psilocin = 2.82, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 3.69 LSD: ---D1 = 2.34, DMT: = 3.51, psilocin = 3.37, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 2.38 LSD: -A-2A = 2.93, DMT: = 2.75, psilocin = 1.36, mescaline = 2.92, 5-meo-DMT: = 0.00 (aesthetic/beauty adrenal a2a) LSD: -A-2B = 0.00, DMT: = 3.53, psilocin = 1.57, mescaline = 0.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 0.86 (aesthetic/beauty adrenal a2b) LSD: -A-2C = 0.00, DMT: = 3.53, psilocin = 1.03, mescaline = 4.00, 5-meo-DMT: = 1.57 (aesthetic/beauty adrenal a2c)

At the risk of getting a little sciencey, LSD has a high affinity to 5-HT1A receptors, which I believe is what puts it in a similar league to 5meo and malt which also have that affinity but even more so. This is why you hear about "LSD flashbacks", which is really the same phenomenon as 5meo "reactivations". And in turn, this phenomenon as a whole is in fact kundalini syndrome, which would be the overload of literal spiritual energy that an unprepared nervous system can't properly process. I feel like people don't have this understanding for whatever reason. And I guess it's always possible I'm incorrect, but I'm pretty confident in this regard.

I guess this is a good time to mention I've done SubQ 5-MeO-MALT. If you ever try it, be aware that it's practically double the strength of 5-MeO-DMT when used SubQ. I made the mistake of starting with 5mg for my first dose, and the trip was borderline breakthrough, which I was not prepared for with my maiden voyage lol.

Jeez lol. I don't envy people in the spiritual spotlight like Leo and others. It must be exhausting having to watch everything you say, not knowing what kind of impact it may have with so many paying attention.

It's been a while for me, but I think it was around an hour total when vaped.
-
5-MeO-MALT HCl definitely works very well dissolved in PG/VG. It appears to be pretty soluble in e-liquid. In a straight PG mix, I was able to get it down to a 3:1 ratio PG:MALT, and it's possible it could get even more concentrated. The mix it produced was strong as shit when vaped. As Girzo mentioned, the method by which e-liquid devices vaporize makes them a good fit for vaping psych salts.

Gotcha, I'd agree with the general premise. I very strongly suspect that way more is possible in the human experience than what we're seeing from our visible "TV" gurus. If you're saying there's potential way beyond what they're displaying or are currently capable of doing, I'm with you there.

Wouldn't that be a bit of a conflation though, and perhaps not a proper measurement of a person's skill at first person states of awakening? Or is that what you're saying, that even though Hawkins has authentic spiritual skill, his opinions are perhaps based on weak logic, because the mind and awareness don't necessarily go hand-in-hand? It brings to mind the stories of enlightened monks in remote areas who don't realize the world is round.

LOL this is probably true, I get the same impression.
-
I think you hit on the key point there though. It's the removal of the habitual need of nonstop thinking, which certainly can leave your mind quieter, but doesn't leave it completely without the tool of logical thought. This is backed up by other teachers as well, such as Eckhart Tolle. He describes transitioning between periods of silence and thought, thereby increasing the power and inspiration of thought when it does occur.

Right, and it's even the case that they're often far more boisterous than the average person. At least the famous ones we hear about. I'd be curious to hear about the behavior of the ones nobody is aware of.
-
I agree on his authenticity, even though he did lean pretty heavily on kinesiology, which is somewhat shaky in itself. As you mentioned, there's a perception that these teachers are infallible, which is obviously not the case.

Vaping or intravenously injecting would have the quickest onset, but you better make sure you have a clear understanding what you're getting yourself into, and put yourself in a position where things are least likely to go bad for you (legal and health-wise). And even if you do understand it conceptually, nothing can prepare you for the reality. Even though the ROAs I listed are quickest, you may want to work with plugging at lower doses to get a feel for it. That'd be way less prone to causing panic, but you wouldn't get the full breakthrough experience unless you increase the dosage. There may be some truth to this, assuming you vape a high enough dose to where there's no time for fear. I don't have experience with this method, but I've heard about it before. Either way, you'd probably be better off experimenting with sub-breakthrough dosages first, regardless of which ROA you use.

LMAO I love how the cameraman was laughing. Probably his buddy or something. It looks fake, and I've sure as hell never had this reaction, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this and similar reports as inauthentic. I find it unlikely that so many people would pretend to have these outbursts. It's especially convincing when it involves a user who doesn't know what to expect and hasn't researched. It just seems to be what happens to some people for whatever reason.

@bambi to get focus back to your original question, I very strongly maintain that if psychedelics could assist in permanent spiritual change, it'd be through the mechanism of vivifying your energetic system. It's a similar concept to kriya yoga, which as I understand it has the same goal of activating this system to initiate and accelerate the awakening process. The lesser psychedelics do this to varying degrees, but 5meo and malt do it profoundly. LSD does it significantly as well, but it comes with an excessively long trip and lots of subconscious distractions. This book really helped me get a better understanding of kundalini, along with many 5meo experiences. To ignore the phenomenon would be a large mistake in my opinion. It'd be like trying to drive a car with a dog turd in the engine compartment. https://www.amazon.com/Kundalini-Exposed-Disclosing-Kundalini-Awakening/dp/B0B6KRCPJB/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= Since you mentioned David Hawkins, I figure I'd point out that he clearly describes the involvement of kundalini and energy in his transformational process. From Power Vs. Force: "The overall condition of the nervous system improved slowly, and then another phenomenon commenced. There was a sweet, delicious band of energy continuously flowing up the spine and into the brain where it created an intense sensation of continuous pleasure. Everything in life happened by synchronicity, evolving in perfect harmony; the miraculous was commonplace. The origin of what the world would call miracles was the Presence, not the personal self. What remained of the personal “me” was only a witness to these phenomena. The greater “I,” deeper than my former self or thoughts, determined all that happened."

lol true enough Right, I'd generally agree that this is how it works. And that's what's being described in the video I posted above, but it involves subtle concepts describing the literal sensation of what it feels like. It's definitely the animal stepping out of the way for God to get in. Here's another good one. I leave the door open that Leo may have a current understanding that transcends what I'm saying here.

Don't you guys think you may be considering this in too simplistic and binary a way? I mean no offense, but it's similar to posts on Reddit where someone asks if an ego death on shrooms will last forever to the degree where you live the rest of your life without an ego, and then you'd just sit there ineffectively, not knowing if you're the person or the chair. I believe (from research and direct experience) authentic spiritual transformation would ultimately enhance human life, not morph it into something impractical and ridiculous. I think it's worth considering the subtleties here, and recognizing answers won't be so obvious or even fit within your current logical framework. I've found this video of Adyashanti and Loch Kelly helpful in providing a description of the awakened everyday state (not just peak experiences on a meditation mat). This would be closer to what it actually means to live in an egoless state.
