What Am I replied to Nemra's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
If you do it without psychedelics, you're in good company since it would appear the greatest mystics of all time took on that same road of perseverance. No chemical assistance needed, but rather a raw display of the guts required to face the truth. -

I'll give it a try. It's a state of active realization in the eternal moment. A leaning in instead of a pulling away. This state of being contains within it an infallible authentication of its own truth. And that truth is a divine knowing which doesn't easily translate to the written word, but in part, it's your existence (as well as everything else's existence) as God. Two possibilities here. 1. On a temporary basis when you've gone deep enough into states of absorption. The state produces after-effects which carry on the "flavor" of the realization, even when you've returned to your mundane existence as an individual. 2. Full and complete (permanent?) realization that fuses with your being at all levels. The realization doesn't waver, but remains apparent throughout all states of consciousness, as was actually the true condition of things to begin with. My own understanding is fuzzy on this one, as I've only had tiny tastes. Your mind does realize what's happened, but it's not on the level where it's truly understood. It's as if the mind acquires the knowledge through secondhand means. The realization stands on its own, and contains all that's needed to fully experience itself. As I mentioned before in my previous post, it's the difference between a concept and a direct experience. It's important to understand that this is something the human body has the built-in capacity to do. Most people who are religious are probably feeling the pull of divinity within themselves, and they're acting it out the best way they know how, but they simply don't realize that a direct experience such as this is possible. -

Yes, mysticism is a super bizarre paradox. Ken Wilber explains it when he says 100% of the enlightened mind is already present. Not 99%, but 100%. The only thing preventing its full realization is a self-imposed illusion. I don't know, it gets really fucked lol. -

It's definitely not a requirement, but it's one hell of a cheat code. Here's an excellent video describing what it's like. This could be compared to a sober state of absorption called nirvikalpa samadhi, induced by kundalini energy. No worries if you can't get your hands on psychedelics though, or if they just aren't for you. This can be done by anybody, but you need to have the discernment to realize what needs to be done. Or rather, you need to learn how to properly let go and allow it to happen. -

@Nemra have you ever used psychedelics, and more specifically 5-MeO-DMT? It very likely won't give you a permanent experience of your identity as God, but it'll definitely give you glimpse through ego death. To answer your question in the original post, the difference in understanding occurs after having shed your identity as an individual and fully blossomed into an infinite and eternal identity that's unmistakable and self-authenticating as all that exists. It's so much more profound than I could ever explain here. For religious people, that's a concept in their mind, but for mystics, it's their direct experience. -

True enough, good observation. -
What Am I replied to Sandroew's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
In my experience, this is a pretty good description. What's important to understand is that he's describing a living condition of being, not a dead conceptual paradigm. It's a drastic change in perception that's at the same time totally different from anything you've ever experienced, and also exactly right back where you've been all along. I'm personally very far from enlightenment, but I've come far enough to know that what's described here is what can be expected in regards to a typical "attainment" of enlightenment. And here's a detailed explanation of how that state of being feels. -

@Princess Arabia I just realized what you're up to in this thread lol. Well, I welcome the challenge. Help me find my blind spots. Or don't, no pressure. -

I've been using psychedelics off and on for many years, but it's not until the last three years that they've caused a lasting transformation in myself. It was when I finally got a hold of 5-MeO-DMT that I discovered what's really possible via psychedelics. I suppose you could refer to the changes as "pleasant", but it's more along the lines of genuine and predictable spiritual transformation, when viewed through the teachings regarding repeated exposure to high-level states of consciousness that are described in the various wisdom traditions. Rather than retell the whole story here, I'll link to the long description I recently typed for anyone interested. -
Damn, that's crazy. Yeah, I wasn't commenting on the immigration aspect, but more so using Mexico's current state as a cautionary example. Now that I know about their severe issues involving political assassinations, I can understand even more why individuals in Mexico would take extreme risks to come to the US by any means necessary. Sounds like a scary place to be.
-
I'd like to point out that there's been 37 successful political assassinations in Mexico's 2024 election season, which edges out their previous record of 36 in the 2021 season. Not attempts, but rather successful killings. There's room for things to get worse in the US, even though our normalcy bias makes it difficult to imagine. Obviously we're not dealing with a 1:1 when it comes to Mexico, and there's other factors at play that contribute to a nightmare scenario of that magnitude. But I wouldn't get so comfortable in the thought that Trump would be the only casualty and then things would return to normal afterward. He'd be dead, but those who would avenge their loss of choice won't be. The same tribalism instinct which is so well-defined now in the US could quickly turn into literal tribal warfare. Perhaps something to consider when the impulse arises to flippantly proclaim "He gets what he deserves." https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/mexican-candidate-assassinations-hit-grim-record-ahead-sundays-election-2024-06-01/

Pretty fair guess, that makes sense.
-
Well, fair enough. I don't think we'll be able to easily change each others' opinion. And like I mentioned in the other thread, it's refreshing to see such honesty. So many people would be cautious in saying that, even if it's their closely held belief. And to be clear, I'm referring to the opinion of Trump's killing being justified, outside of any officially sanctioned process. There's other parts of your post that I have a hard time disagreeing with.
-
Sure, you're probably not wrong. But it's in that moment where you decide to react that you've now taken on an incredible responsibility. If your discernment wasn't clear, you could wind up discovering that you've actually become the villain in the story. I'm just stating this as a general concept, not necessarily tied to the scenario involving Trump.

That's an interesting one. So you're saying you'd be in favor of killing baby Hitler, as well as baby Hitler's killer for killing a baby? I do like that lol. A certain poetic justice that completes itself and closes the circle. Yeah, the wisdom you're talking about is a tricky thing. It seems to involve a doing away of all polarity, including good and evil, and actions just flow from the absolute. I can't claim to grasp it either, and I've only had glimpses. We'll get there, brother! I think titles like Republican and Democrat can be a little misleading these days. I've seen Leo and Destiny (and others) use the more accurate labels of establishment and anti-establishment. If I were to guess, it'd be an establishment figure who made a call such as this. But I admit, I don't actually know. And I swear, I wasn't asking as a gotcha lol. I was actually curious if it was known who in particular made it, because it's such a goofy decision.
-
Don't you think that was the same justification going through the mind of the bizarre fella who recently shot at Trump? And MAGA will say the left have struck such fear into their followers, they'd be willing to break the rules and stop him at all costs. Kind of hard to argue it when that sounds like what you're saying lol. When taken to the extreme, couldn't that line of reasoning justify all manner of atrocities? I won't push back too much though, as it sounds like we agree this isn't the ideal behavior. Just a difference of opinion on what's currently justified. I'm just wondering about this particular case. Like, who signed off on a town of 60k receiving an influx of 20k? Did they really all need to go to this single small location? Seems like an issue that anyone could have predicted.
-
I do appreciate you being honest about your opinion. I imagine there's many who wish they could extrajudicially end the life of Trump, but they're just not saying it out loud for any number of reasons. I think it's quite shortsighted though, and doesn't take into account what would happen after. Not to mention, I still believe it'd be immoral when performed in this way.
-
Jesus, you could make the argument an execution is appropriate after a successful and fair conviction of treason, but you're arguing for something else entirely. Just a straight up murder, and it'd be considered 100% justified no less.
-
That's a fine line to walk imo. It's a purposeful hiding of the truth to put yourself in an advantageous position. I don't think it's that many steps removed from hoping Trump gets assassinated, as both can be considered immoral acts, depending on the context. You could be right, but it's up to each informed voter to decide. The temptation will always be there to "help" the voter make the "right" decision, but when pushed too far, that's a betrayal of the democracy you're hoping to maintain. Not trying to come at you aggressively, just pointing out what I'm seeing. I'm not really that informed on the issue. How did 20k Haitian immigrants even end up in this small town?
-
@Joshe it almost seems like you're asking how this can best be swept under the rug to avoid anyone outside of Springfield finding out. If it's an issue of this magnitude, wouldn't it be appropriate for those who are zealously pro-immigration to answer for the situation?
-
If Trump does get killed, at least a few of his supporters won't take kindly to it. I would disagree with the notion that the killing ends there. Even if you guys see it as being due to his own rhetoric, I promise that's not how it's viewed by many millions on the other side. There may even be an effort towards revenge just for the two recent attempts.

What Am I replied to PurpleTree's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yeah, not too bad, besides the uncomfortable friction between those two. It's cool to hear the ideas being discussed. Oh wow, a revelation of the subtle realm is DMT's specialty. It's quite amazing, and very different from the nondual revelations of 5-MeO-DMT. I think it'd be worth trying again after you haven't used other psychedelics for a period of time, to make sure they're not coloring the experience. -
I just think it's more fair to say "it's complicated". We're talking about a person who's crazy enough to grab a rifle and try to shoot an ex-president, so it's already an individual whose state of mind will be difficult for any of us to really grasp. Their party affiliation is probably a tenuous thing, and can change drastically the instant they're displeased. Likely pretty impulsive.

I think you're jumping the gun too quickly on this one. The child in the video giving his impatient opinion is probably not the best arbiter of truth. Especially when you can see him slipping in his ideology wherever he thinks it'll fit. His whole reason for making the video seems to be that of political strategy rather than any honest recounting. Probably best to wait and see where this all lands, imo.
