What Am I replied to Inliytened1's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
Yeah, it is pretty disconnected from someone's typical considerations in politics. I'd argue it's actually incredibly essential, but I get where you're coming from in saying it appears out of left field. I guess there's no need to keep discussing it if nobody else is like-minded. Just giving my two cents. -

I'm leaning towards the Republican worldview. Or put more accurately, the anti-establishment side. I think Republicans were co-opted into a hammer against the establishment, and their current values mostly don't reflect the stodgy stiffs they were before. But really, I'm not taking my previous comments regarding UFOs/spirituality out of the equation. It's a big part of the reason I have a bone to pick with the establishment. -

If you really think about it, there's nothing more important than the revelations involving intelligent beings besides humans, technologies with capabilities beyond comprehension, and the truth about the nature of reality, i.e., spirituality. Of course, maybe not everyone has bought into the topic as being real, which was initially surprising to me when the forum is full of people who've experienced hyperdimensional realities via psychedelics/meditation. At least Leo appears convinced about the UFO phenomenon and he seems to be aware of the implications. I'm thankful for that. -

I wish one of the candidates had openly discussed UFO disclosure. I don't think I saw it come up once this entire cycle. That would have probably influenced my vote one way or the other. -
Good to know on being unprejudiced. It's interesting how different experiences can afford us various opportunities for growth that may seem so foreign to others. I guess there's always another complexity around the bend in life. Good luck with your endeavors.

Thanks for that. To be honest, I was trying to sniff out if your comments had any reasoned backing or whether they were just a blanket prejudice against men with white skin. But I think you've shown that some thought has occurred on your part, and you didn't just get to this opinion haphazardly. I have zero education in this area, so I'm probably not qualified for much of a back and forth.
-
Would you be willing to expand on this? I have an idea of what you're trying to say, but I'm wondering how it would appear when it's spelled out by someone who's adopted the ideology.
-
Maybe, hard to say, I guess. Even the smartest of people can have goofy blind spots. In the scenario we're talking about, some of them probably do know better, but I wouldn't be surprised if many are unconscious of their own hypocrisy.

It's true that those who refer to themselves as "anti-racist" usually seem unable to conceptually separate the individual from their own perceived notions regarding the overarching race. It's as if they expect members of a race to act a certain way, and they're perplexed when one of them expresses a thought that doesn't fit the mold. Depending on your definition, you could almost call that racism.

Interesting similarities between the Destiny and Shapiro episodes in the sense that there was plenty of ignorance to go around among the attendees, regardless of their preferred political party. It's like the idealism of their youth clouds their vision. -
My god, if someone is going to challenge Destiny to a debate, they should step back for a moment, take a look in the mirror, and ask themselves if they're really a worthy challenger. Seems like such a Dunning-Kruger for this broham to step up to the plate. It's a difficult listen when the contrast between the two is so stark. It's interesting because you can notice what appears to be an actual difference in their conscious awareness—literally how awake they are in the moment. It's like this Luke guy is partially asleep. I don't even disagree with some of his arguments (especially about food), but he's so slow and weak in their delivery. Destiny needs a better screening process.
-
Oh, for goodness sake, fine, lol. I'll give up the last of my resistance and just concede Destiny is a perfectly manly man. I'd personally be alarmed if my own total testosterone was at the very bottom of the acceptable healthy range, but maybe I have some kind of bias I'm not aware of that's distorting my view.

Yeah, definitely true in my experience as well. It seems like the nondual state is more so a profound intuitive recognition of the raw sameness of all things, along with a liberation from the sense of individuality that typically plagues every second of our lives. As Ken Wilber puts it, it's a "knowing" of everything rather than a "knowing about" everything. In addition to my own efforts, I also have a decent amount of experience with 5-MeO-DMT, so I guess you could say I cheated and stole a glimpse of where the road eventually goes. But I wouldn't be surprised to learn there's levels of awareness way beyond what I've seen, perhaps expanding infinitely. I do find the world interesting, but I've been striving for more of a balance between the manifest and unmanifest. A way of not only hearing the notes in the symphony but also a continuous recognition of the silence between them. It may be that since I've worked on that for so long, there's been some neglect in other areas of development. I don't think it'd be the first time that happened with a spiritual practitioner. I don't really regret it though, since I can't think of a more awesome goal to sacrifice for and work towards.

Wow, thanks for being so candid with your response. It's clear you're an honest player, which is always appreciated. Our paths in spirituality may have some differences, but it'd be a mistake on my part to gatekeep and pretend there's no options outside the scope of those I'm more familiar with. Taking someone accomplished like Aurobindo as an example, rather than utilizing classical methods of meditation, it's my understanding he reached significant levels of mystical awareness using the creation of his writings as a sort of self-teaching. It sounds like you know what you want to do and how you plan to get there. Good stuff.

I do wonder how many people actually perform exercises in the area of subjective consciousness expansion. You're clearly pretty sharp in politics and general epistemology, but is meditation something you successfully engage in? I only ask because I've never seen a post of yours that makes it clear, though perhaps you just don't talk about it. In my mind, there's somewhat of a gap between a presentation of high intellect and high consciousness, and a conflation of the two can lead to confusion as to what spirituality actually is. Just my opinion, perhaps you differ in your understanding and framework.

Probably an accurate statement. Someone who's fully unintelligent would likely stumble beyond recovery at some point, and Trump has overcome a ton of hurdles for a long time, and he's still here. Anyways, I don't really want to engage in judging him too much. Who am I in comparison?
-
I would argue that it's very much correlated and almost certainly causative with the physical and mental manifestation of male characteristics. But like I mentioned earlier in the thread, I take your guys' point that the reality is not always so clear cut, with Destiny being a good example.
-
Well, in this case, I was actually insulting Trump and possibly even suggesting he lacks any significant form of intelligence at all, or at least one that we'd typically associate with elite leaders. It's not clear to me how he landed where he is, but the history you mentioned does sound like it played a part in being formative for him. It may be that his success is due to raw charisma, or some type of animal attractant that we don't fully understand.
-
I don't know what kind of alternative form of intelligence Trump has, but it's definitely of a different type than Vivek, Vance, and the rest. It's a wild phenomenon that he gained the position of power that he has. If life is like an RPG, he must have had his luck attribute maxed. I have, but it's been a while, so I can't remember the details. I saw it when it came out. I do remember it being a scary close approximation for reality in a whole bunch of ways. Maybe I should revisit to look for parallels I may have missed.

Yeah, it's pretty common for sure. It goes to show how smart Destiny is and how unintelligent his typical opponent is. I've listened to his debates on X spaces, and it's absolutely mind-numbing. Like I was saying, it's practically a hobby of mine to follow his content and wait for the day someone worthy finally arrives, lol.
-
I'm always on the lookout for someone who can come close to matching Destiny. The first guy was at least pretty skilled rhetorically. I'd love to see an extended debate between the two. So annoying how he was voted out too soon. These other people were naive and didn't realize what they were getting themselves into. After watching a bit more, a few of these other kids weren't so bad either.

JD Vance is about a million times better at being a podcast guest. Seems like a very smart guy.
-
Yeah, I can concede that this is probably true, with the adjustment that the men who are successful are likely most commonly moderate testosterone, being still within the range that supports good physical health. Having legitimately low testosterone can be a significant burden on bodily functions and well-being, and it seems difficult to imagine these figures could overcome that hardship while moving humanity forward the way they did, though I guess it is technically possible. It's too bad we don't have a way to easily verify what their levels were. It's my understanding that the population with the highest statistical amount of testosterone is in fact men in prisons, so there is something to be said about the anti-social behavioral effects of excess testosterone.

Many on the right like to oppose this term, but I think what you're describing is called toxic masculinity. A type of masculinity that's turned up to 11 at the cost of the polar counterbalance. We're essentially talking about men with otherwise healthy physiologies who lack the self-control to properly utilize it. Your points regarding the obvious flaws of this type of masculinity are well taken, but it seems like a potential mistake to pull such a 180 into a virtual matriarchy. A healthy human male and a healthy human female, with each providing an idealized version of their own dualistic traits, likely have nearly equal contributions to give. I didn't know that about whales and elephants. Very interesting indeed. It's strange how the other intelligent species seem to better fall in line with their instincts, whereas humans are evolved to a point where we're not actually sure what we're supposed to do, lol. Perhaps this confusion is just the cost of progress.

Strange that YouTube didn't at least give some kind of explanation beyond acknowledging it wasn't visible when searching. That leaves the door open to allow for continued speculation. And for many, their lack of explanation could itself be seen as further evidence of deliberate censorship.
