If you don't do that, you live all your life at the mercy of more corrupt people. A life lived at the hands of corrupt devils is worse that doing a bit of corruption as you bootstrap yourself.

This would be awesome! Anyone living in close proximity to Vegas should definitely attend this event.

I read this for the first time today: https://www.actualized.org/insights/conscious-vs-unconscious-sense-making For the first time in my life I can say that I am proud of myself. I've been doing this all along. What you say in that blog post I've been doing since I was in kindergarten. I talk to myself endlessly in my head. The most fascinating conversations I've ever had were with myself. I'm non stop re evaluating my sense making of the world. I'm always talking with myself about my worldview, questioning whether I have the correct worldview. I also suffer immensely because I engage with various fascist and extremist ideologies and try to make sense whether they are better than my liberal worldview. Almost daily I put my liberal worldview against worldviews such as those of Putin or Dugin or Trump. I always try to go into detail on where my worldview is weak and where is strong. You made me happy Leo! I'm usually depressed and self critical but you made me happy with that blog post. I'm proud of myself. Finally I've been doing something that was done on my own volition and not imposed on me by an authority figure like yourself

https://www.actualized.org/insights/conscious-capitalism-bs Hi @Leo Gura, you said in the beggining of the video you shot in this blog post from 5 years ago that we will have an episode that covers capitalism vs socialism, in an in depth analysis. Do you still have plans to do that episode or you leave it for the next life time? Knowing you, I bet we will get that episode in the next lifetime since you haven't mentioned anything about it since 2020.

Precisely! But what if we lived in a world where Hitler won WW2? Today we all would know how evil Stalin, Churchill and FDR were. There would have been hundreds of books where would have been written that Stalin killed ethnic Germans and Europeans in gulags and that Hitler fought for the freedom of Europe. There would be books where Churchill plotted to use the citizens of Europe as cannon fodder in a future war with the USA for world dominion Basically the most evil shit historians attributed to Hitler, had Hitler won, the same historians would have wrote about the losers which in our case would have been Stalin, Churchill and FDR. Note: I'm not a Holocaust denier, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But I do believe that the history is written by the victor. Hiter did a lot of evil, but I do believe that a lot of that evil is put on his name without him being directly responsible for it. In the 20th century the whole of Europe was infested with hatred for the Jews, blaming that on Hitler is silly. anti-Semitism was in Europe long before Hitler was born. The 20 million citizens of the USSR that died, were killed all because of Hitler? I bet at least a quarter were killed because of how the Soviets killed their own soldiers for not being brave enough or for the slightest suspicion of Nazi collaboration.

But if you ask Trump he will say that he is improving America. He will say that he is making America great again. And he is really believing that. Trump believes that he is doing a lot of good for America. Don't get me wrong, you won't find a more anti right wing person than me. I hate Trump and the Maga movement with a passion. But after watching your video Everyone acts with good intentions I really got an existential crisis. That video threw me into a pit of uncertainty and confusion. It made me feel like a bad person for being against someone like Trump who in his skewed mind wants to do good. Also with the video The Psychology of being Wrong, after watching it when it came out it made me feel like I am wrong for being so anti right wing, for being anti Trump. Such videos make me very very doubtful of my own sense making. Initially I believed I had the right outlook on Trump and the Right-wingers but this video made me very doubtful of my own sense making. Maybe they are right for wanting a dictatorship. Maybe they are right that democracy is failing the people. I always liked to explore those fringe ideas of the right, I am also very keen in understanding my opponents. But your videos make me doubt myself and make me believe that my opponents (the right wingers) are right

Last year you gave me a response that detailed what consciousness work is: Now that you have mentioned epistemology work, could you please give me a list of what work can I do to develop better epistemology? I really want to discover what is true without my biases and self deception getting in the way, and I'm also tired looking for truth in authority figures like you. I want to arrive at truth using only my mind. I want to know whether Hitler or Trump were good or bad guys just by using my own sense making, not needing academics or philosopers do the philosophy for me. I want to do the philosophy myself.

@Leo Gura The issue with you Leo is that you indeed have steelmanned Hitler in the past on the blog and forum, but I never saw you steelman Trump. That is very telling of you. You can steelman Hitler, but you never ever steelman Trump. Why is that? P.S. Don't take this comment seriously, I'm just jocking with you because you indeed have never steelmanned Trump🤣

@Leo Gura I'm rewatching your - The Psychology of being wrong video. I'm 20 minutes deep and you stated that I the listener could be wrong when criticising other people like criticising politicians, public figures etc. I wanted to ask you on this regard, since you criticise Trump a lot, how do you know you are not wrong when you position yourself against Trump? I'm not interested in Trump particularly, I want to know when I am against a politician, how to know that I am not wrong when I speak against that person. Or vice versa how do I know I'm not wrong for supporting and agreeing with my favorite party or politician?

Same here. For the last 5 years I began to feel a sudden need to vomit when listening to religious people like Christians or Mormons or right wing propagandists like Tucker or Alex Jones. I get annoyed when listening to leftists on their utopian ideals, but I look at them the same way a parent looks at their children when they draw an ugly painting for kindergarten, but when I listen to Christians and Right Wingers, I litteraly feel pain in stomach and an intense need to vomit. I think this is a sign I evolved past stage blue. It wasn't like this until I turned 21.

I'll give me as an example, all my family and all the people I know are the equivalent of MAGA. Maybe even more nationalist and fascist than MAGA. Literally I never meet in real life a person that has my political worldview. All the media I encounter when I open the tv is right wing propaganda. On twitter everyone I follow on politics has tons of comments that are pro right wing, I never consume any leftist content on YouTube. Yet I'm a liberal centrist, why am I not MAGA if everyone around me is MAGA? Don't you think I'm tired of always being 1 vs 10 against me in every political debate I have IRL? Acussing us of group think is a bit of an exaggeration on your side Leo. -

You are wrong here Leo. If someone is at stage green development-wise, that person even if he is the last person on earth, will have the stage green worldview regardless of their environment. A stage green person in Russia is opposing the Ukraine war even though he doesn't have access to WWW internet and all he can access is state sponsored propaganda. -

Socialism is stupid, but a little welfare as we have here in Europe ain't no socialism and is a smart goal the leftists should pursue to have in America as we have here in Europe. There aren't any "utopian complex political reasons" why Europe like healthcare systems couldn't be implemented in America. The leftists are right in that regard for blaming this on the capitalist devils that see us nothing more than cows to be milked dry. -

TYT is literally an angel when it comes to intelectual honesty and epistemic rigor compared to the pool of shits which are Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson. I instantly wanna vomit just when I hear Tucker speak for more than 20 seconds. He is emanating right wing dogma through every pore. -

Abortions should pe allowed up until the 12th week. After 12 weeks abortions should be only allowed if the mother is in mortal danger, otherwise they should be banned. The government should make sure that the young family is supported and taken care of, but if a mother decides that she doesn't want to carry the pregnancy, until the 12th week, by all means, if she wants an abortion, the government shouldn't prevent her. -

What is the reason for this inflation? Post Covid recovery? The funding for the defence of Ukraine? I bet it is the funding for Ukraine. -

To me all these right wing populist movements in America and Europe have as their sole objective the undoing of the majority of the anti corruption reforms that the liberal democracies have undertaken in the last 50 years. I see in my surroundings that the biggest fans of these movements are the ones that complain about the minimum wage being too high (550$ in my country) and that according to them the minimum wage should be abolished completely. I see only people who have done fiscal evasion all their life, and for the last 5 years the authorities no longer tolerated such behaviour, and now they are pissed that they have to pay their taxes so they viciously support the populist right wingers so that all their corrupt ways of doing business and doing fiscal evasion could once again be allowed. -

Hey Leo, why every extremist ideology ultimately fails? Fascism was annihilated by reality in 1945, Communism was done for in 1991. Dictatorships and autoritharans on a long enough time scale, they ultimately collapse. Yet liberalism and democracy are still here since the enlightenment. Why is that? Why something like MAGA will always fail? Is it because it is not grounded in truth and alligned with unviersal love? Is it because it is false, therefore anything that's false is bound to die? -

Yes, doctors should have great pay. No one is denying that. But is it the Neo-Liberal way of doing medicine in the west superior to public free health care? Is it ok that if someone gets cancer or a very bad illness, to die or to be in debt for the rest of his life to the neo liberal medical system? How is it better to be bankrupt for life if you get ill? Only millionaires have the right to benefit from medicine? The ones who can't afford medical treatment are the ones who work in the most health-damaging conditions, while a millionaire works in the most safe working conditions. -

China has a hybrid economy, but Willy is right, it is very statist and has a strong government that dominates the economy. Although this is not marxism, it surely it is more related to Marxism than to our corrupt neo liberal status quo. Somethin that we should learn to experiment with, not just double down on neo liberalism. And calling China corrupt is a strawman. The corruption may be higher but the west is not too different, the only difference is that in the west we have stronger courts and the corrupt people usually go to jail while in China you only go to jail if you are not well connected in the communist party. The corruption argument is silly. We have tremendous corruption here too. Also the little people here are as wage enslaved as the little people in China. Here the difference is that the little people have access to Netflix and WWW internet. -
I read the financial times from now and then. It's not sound reasoning to read very biased books. Bias is inevitable but combined with ideology and self deception, it may forever sway a mind into an unhealthy ideology like Marxsim or Libertarianism. And most of the economists today are one lense free market promotors. Some are even downright libertarians.

This Marxist spits some uncomfortable truths. Although I'm against Socialism and Marxism, I think the west should experiment more with the idea of a semi planned economy. It proved time and time again that it works amazing, hell even providing more prosperity to the people than a free market economy. I think what my brother Willy is saying here is a very sound and truthful critique in regards to free market economies. I think the best model is when the economy is a hybrid between free market and centrally planed economies. This is sound reasoning in my eyes. NOTHING WILL PREVENT WILLY.
