  1. Hi Paul, Your true self is the awareness behind thoughts and emotions. So no the real you cannot get drunk because it is non physical. What tends to happen when people get drunk is that they become distorted because they lose their reasoning ability and wisdom. Witch comes from connecting with your true self the awareness. That is why people do silly things when their drunk and later they regret it.
  2. Ryan, the only way to become free of anxiety is to face it head on without running away from it. If it's an emotion feel it in your body fully and let it be so it can be released. It's going to feel terribly unpleasant and it's going to take time depending how much is stored up in your body. If you're having anxious thoughts about the future or past you need to become aware of these patterns in your mind and realize that they have no truth to them because whats here and now is the only real thing in life. I've dealt with anxiety/ obsessive fearful thoughts and I still am but the intensity of them have reduced tremendously,
  3. Yes you certainly can. It's not about trying to control negative thoughts or wanting to get rid of them, it's about allowing them to be there in your awareness without fearing them or believing them. If you really look at it the only reason you want to stop negative thoughts is because your afraid of them. Coming from somebody that's suffered from obsessive fearful thoughts I can assure you that there isn't anything to be afraid of. I still have negative thoughts and I always will, it's just that they have a much lower intensity then they did. I am still in the process of becoming free of my mind and emotions. A good meditation practice is to just sit on a comfy couch, chair or bed doesn't really matter. Close your eyes and let your thoughts be don't believe them just let them pass by in your awareness. As for the creativity question it will just come naturally as your mind noise starts to quiet down. I hoped this helped you Ilya, have a great day.
  4. Don't try and sort your thoughts out. Just let the mind be, let your thoughts arise fully and freely don't judge them or start analyzing them just let them pass threw in your awareness, the more you don't buy into the random thoughts in your mind, the quieter the mind will become. After all you are not the random noise of thoughts in your head.
  5. Trying to stop thinking to avoid negative thoughts will only cause you to have more negative thoughts. Just let your thoughts be there in your space of awareness, paying attention to your breathing will help you become aware. Don't judge or be scared of your thoughts because they are not real . What is real however is the space of awareness behind every single thought.
  6. Your awareness is increasing. It can feel very discomforting when you start to become aware of the negativity that was built up due to being unconsciously lost in your mind, It's sort of like when you shine a flashlight in a dark room you will see things that you couldn't see before. This phase is only temporary. Your not doing anything wrong just allow yourself to feel these emotions without trying to get rid of them and they will dissolve eventually.

The only reason you are suffering right now is because you are identified with your mind plus there is a imbalanced negative energy build up in your body due to your past of being unconsciously lost in your mind. If you notice throughout your waking hours there is a field of awareness that operates at all times even when your mind is having lots of noise. This field of awareness feels like a relaxed focus, this is the present moment it's always there. You said you were meditating witch is great to increase your awareness. When you meditate next time start relaxing your focus, if a negative thought comes up just let it have it's noise and don't believe it. Sometimes it can feel very discomforted not giving attention to negative thoughts but your unconscious focus on these thoughts is what fuels them. Ill give you an example of dissolving a negative thought completely, say for instance the thought is I'm going to do bad on this math test and then my parents are gonna be disappointed in me ill never be happy again! So the first step is to notice when you are having a negative thought and relax your focus, bring yourself into the present moment if there is an emotion being generated in your body (like fear in most cases) allow yourself to feel this emotion completely it can feel very awful sometimes but it will eventually die out. The more you do this the more you will start to become into a balance where your not rocked by intense emotions or thoughts. This is your true self.
  8. Alot of people try to suppress there fears through positive affirmations or using some other type of technique. If you notice these actions are stemming from a place of fear in order to get rid of this feeling and hence creates more resistance and fear. What's needed is for you to consciously Allow this feeling to arise and have its full intensity. It's gonna feel very discomforting at first and you may even thing it's getting alot worse. The more you do this every time a fearful thought or emotion comes up both will start losing its intensity and you will start operating from a place of wisdom rather than fear.
  9. The outside is always a reflection on the inside. You attracted these friends in your past due to whatever your current state of being was. Now that you've changed for the better, you will naturally attract new friends that are aligned with your new state of being.

The reason you feel offended is simply because you've been self critical of some aspect of yourself.For example if you called a tall guy short he wouldn't be offended because he isn't self critical about being short. Everyone is unique, next time someone says something that might be offensive to you just bring your awareness to the emotion inside of you and just allow it and feel it fully. The more you do this the more the intensity will fade away and won't harm your being any longer.
