The influx of Haitian immigrants is causing detriment to a small town in Ohio where the immigrants are eating cats, seagulls, wild ducks, geese, and other things. Coming to a town near you! “But immigration is awesome guys and these people definitely can integrate into western society!” 20 more years of this and America will be a shithole. https://x.com/npeanut630/status/1833142984793034852?s=46

@manuel bon well considering there are plenty of people on the left defending this behavior using the argument you just posted, I thought you were being serious -

@Jac067 Money is a rationing tool. It was invented to decide who gets what in society. Normally, people with more money provide more value to society, but that's not always the case. -

@Yimpa No, I don’t run it. I am a part of the group and one of the mods. I don’t know if the guy who runs it knows about Actualized. -

@Leo Gura What about the same for the left? And who is to decide that those with that power are responsible enough to not use it for their egotistical advantage? -
Shodburrito replied to Shodburrito's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Leo Gura okay so can we agree that censorship is usually not a good idea and 99% of people are not responsible enough or wise enough to wield that kind of power? -
Shodburrito replied to Shodburrito's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Leo Gura If the government did this but it was instead censoring left wing ideas you’d lose your mind. So hypocritical -

@Leo Gura What? The hunter Biden story that turned out to be true? -
Shodburrito replied to Shodburrito's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@mmKay also lynchings did not end because free speech was censored. So, I don’t know get what you’re saying there, it’s kind of a dumb point. -
Shodburrito replied to Shodburrito's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@mmKay My point is who is to decide what is "dangerous"? If the right is in power they say it is trans people, if the left is in power they will say it is ultra-maga people. Who is to decide who is right? You can't just give and justify that kind of power to anyone, you don't know know who will end up having it. Sure, it may be irresponsible to let extremists have a voice on platforms, but it's more irresponsible to justify a small group of people having absolute authority on who gets to say what. -

@Leo Gura Did you even read the post? I mean seriously if you actually did there were several points I made. Gee, I don’t know, maybe because the most successful countries in the world have some form of free speech as and inherent part of there social structure? And when you start to censor free speech like England has been doing the country starts to fall apart and crime rate skyrockets? See even if I gave you a 500 page dissertation on it that still wouldn’t be enough for you because you’ve already decided your opinion on the topic and think you’re right because you think you are “the most evolved” person. The funny thing is, no one cares and you just end up sounding like a pretentious asshole. See, if you actually were, you wouldn’t have to say it, your greatness would be eminently present. But it’s not, and that’s why you constantly need to project that identity out to the world to seek validation for it. Or is that too mean and too far in terms of free speech? 😢 -

@mmKay again. You are completely removing personal responsibility from this matter. You act like people have no choice in the matter. No one is forcing them to open the app and consume harmful content. Just because books like Mein Kampf exist doesn’t mean people have to go out and read it. You’re completely offloading the obvious fact that there’s so much personal responsibility in what kind of content people consume. Sorry I think that we shouldn’t give any group including the government the power to limit free speech simply because some idiots online watch harmful content. I know I’m such a radical suggesting no one should have that power. -

The replies on here are hilarious. Y’all act like civilization is going to collapse because a few extremists online say some mean stuff. Like get over yourself. America has had racism and Jim crow laws up until the 60s and we did just fine. Now you act like a much smaller number of people saying the same shit online is going to collapse democracy. Get off CNN for the love of God. -

@Recursoinominado That is the dumbest example I have ever heard. I don’t give a f what they promote. It is individual people’s responsibility to choose what content they consume. Anyone can go on YouTube right now and consume harmful content for any topic regardless if YouTube promotes it. Stop acting like it’s the social media’s job to choose what kind of content you should consume. You’re offloading personal choice in this matter and it’s ridiculous. You act like the people consuming suicidal content are victims. They’re not. They choose to open the app everyday. Just because some dumbasses choose to watch brain rot does not mean that we should limit the spread of ideas. -
Shodburrito replied to Shodburrito's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Recursoinominado I don’t want anyone to decide how to use it? Do you not read posts? It’s so clear that I am advocating for NO censorship. Social media companies or the government cannot decide what should be censored. End of story. What do you not get about my post that I made so hard to understand? -
Part of me wants to believe that everyone is capable of breaking dyfunctional habits and lifestyles (vaping, excessive junk food, laziness, etc.) But part of me doesn't understand why people live in the same dysyunctional shit for decades while barely changing. I don't know if my brain is wired different, I just have a different perspective, or what, but it's very easy for me to adapt and change. Meanwhile 90%+ of the population just generally seems to be incapable of personal development in any major ways (and sometimes minor) ways. I mean, everyone has goals and dreams, but it seems like a lot of people just give up on them for mediocrity. I understand people's egos want to defend their identities, but does anyone actually want to be morbidly obese, an alcoholic, or unorganized, instead of being healthy, sober, or organized? (Just examples, I'm not saying everyone has these habits.) My only explanation is that people simply don't care. If they wanted something badly enough, they would certainly give up a bad habit to achieve that thing. It baffles me.

Go ahead and drop your answer below. But first, let me warn you: You have no idea what this life is about. It’s not about “evolution” or “awakening”. It’s not about becoming a better person or loving others. It’s not about fulfilling a purpose or finding meaning. These are all stories you tell yourself. Except you are the author and you do not realize it. Any story you tell yourself becomes true. You think meditating and learning to give up attachment from your desires is the point? Then that’s the reality you will experience. You think it’s about trying to evolve your consciousness and become a “better” person? Then that’s the reality you will create. None of you realize how this works. Any answer you give why you’re here becomes true for you. But it’s all relative. You’re just as wrong as the next person, or just as right depending on how you look at it. So what is the answer to the point of life? Stop looking for one and start creating one. But be careful: The answer you create may unintentionally limit you. Many think the answer is “enlightenment”, but just as I have mentioned, this is a limitation. You think it may free you but only if you limit yourself to what is possible. What if I told you not only do desires not cause suffering like these “gurus” would like you to think, but you have complete freedom to choose any emotional state instantly, regardless of circumstances? Would you think I’m crazy? Or is that just another story you tell yourself keeping you in the box of limitations? Or what if I told you that you can experience having anything you want right now? Again, am I crazy, or are you just unaware of what is possible? Let’s have a discussion about what is possible.

@ICURBlessings I am saying I would rather keep my options open by maintaining a fluid identity and belief system. Rather than getting locked in one paradigm such as "The point of life is to love" I constantly am open to adapting to different paradigms depending on what I enjoy the most.
