@Shroomdoctor Realize that fear is a fucking illusion of the ego. Be grounded in yourself and no matter if you reapproach the same girl a billion times, throw up on her, act awkward as shit, or portray yourself as a lame ass beta male. It won't fucking matter because nothing can break you or can it? If it can... I'm afraid you have some work to do my friend.

Yeah, taking action also is very important. Honestly being homeless doesn't even sound that bad to me. How can I really be homeless if the whole world is my home? -

I guess it is just because my life situation is less than optimal. I live with my parents and I try being present all the time, but my parents keep thinking I am doing nothing, which I am but it is not bad from my perspective. So I am trying to figure out a way to move out of my parents house, which takes planning. If I just sat down and was present all the time, nothing would get done. I would still be at my parents house. My parents already threatened to kick me out of the house if I don't start doing something. So if I don't start planning out what I am going to do, I am going to end up homeless. It is actually pretty funny. Just imagine being blissed out in samadhi. Your just sitting there on the couch doing absolutely nothing and then your parents come up and yell at you to go do something with your life. Like what more do I need? -

@Nahm I think I realize what is going on. The reason I stress is because I am trying to rush through the planning process. Instead of just planning slow and mindfully. -
@Leo Gura Will you post orange's values here as well? I saw that you had a value list for the blue thread, but not for this one.

I have noticed recently that my short-term memory has become really bad as I am constantly focusing my mind on the present moment. I get so absorbed with what I am doing that I forget simple things like turning the stove off or I just completely forget what I was doing because my mind has been constantly trained to be in the now. Just wanted to point that out, as that is one disadvantage I have noticed while trying to reach a state of no-mind.

I dropped college today, because I don't think it is right for me in this point in time. I am starting to feel like an alien from everybody. I really don't care about anything anymore. Everything feels meaningless and empty. I wish I could just fall asleep or wake up.

@BuddhaTree I think having a good baseline level of concentration is good for beginners. It helps to be focused and concentrated while doing your yoga routine. If you just practice paravastha right off the bat, without any prior experience, it will just lead to lots of monkey mind. -
onacloudynight replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@herghly I do concentration. It doesn't really matter which you do. Do whichever one you resonate with you. Edit: If you want you could do both. First do concentration to calm down your mind and then you can let go and surrender by doing paravastha. -

@herghly It means your practice is working. But really try not to assign any meaning to these experiences. They are just experiences. Seeing a light is no different than seeing your hand. It's all in the meaning that you assign to it. Drop all meaning. -
@Growf Haha dude, you have way more than me! I am basically a hermit and I am completely fine. Being alone isn't all that bad. In fact at higher levels of consciousness, you might actually start to prefer it. Fear is all in your mind. Face your fear head on! Take a solo meditation retreat or spend more time alone. Why are you so scared of yourself?

@Leo Gura Do you need to do pranayama if your mind is already really tranquil? Or is there another reason why I need to be doing it? Everytime I start to do pranayama, I get about 3-4 rounds in and my breath is already really subtle, almost breathless, so I just naturally want to slide into meditation. -

Does anyone know if it matters when you practice Yoni mudra? I see some people have it placed at the end of their routine and some have it placed right before their meditation. -

Are you referring to the book: "Kriya Yoga Exposed" Or all of his books? -

@DMM710 Watch this guy. He explains how to do the practices in this book very clearly. -

@Memeito I agree it would be nice to have a teacher to help clarify some questions and confusions one might have while practicing, but if one doesn't have access to a teacher, I believe this is the next best thing. It is also relatively inexpensive. -

@Viking It's not usually my thumb and pinky, but my thumb and pointer finger. My hand just naturally wants to make that mudra. I think they call it Gyan mudra. -

@herghly Just get used to the weird stuff. Get to the point where it just becomes completely normal and it doesn't bother you anymore. It is just another phenomenon, no different from any other phenomenon. It is all in the meaning that you assign to it. Some examples of weird stuff happening from my own experience: Speaking in tongues, chanting nonsensical words. Involuntary vocalizations, yelling, screaming, laughing, growling etc.... Feeling of intense energy and power coursing through my body. Feels like electricity is coursing through my body Feeling like I am going to explode. Feeling blood being pumped throughout my body. (Felt very weird) Involuntary body movements, spontaneous mudras and asanas, basically the body just moves on its own. Feels like your possessed (This happens the most for me, but happens so often where now I am just used to it) Spitting on the floor randomly during meditation. Behaving like an animal, feelings of wanting to ravage something. (The key is not to act on any of these feeling, but to just mindfully observe them as they arise) Becoming aware of my shadow. Basically with all this stuff, you just need to relax into it and accept it, be mindful of all of it, without any resistance. Be a detached observer. Don't react to any of it. That is your mind's game is to get you to react to all of this stuff. This stuff is perfectly normal and is actually a really good sign of growth. You are purifying a lot of shit from your unconscious mind, but all you can see are these outward manifestations. If you haven't watched Leo's dark side of meditation video, I would highly recommend it. There he goes in-depth and covers all the possible weird stuff that can happen while doing these type of practices. -

Honestly this is very tame to the levels of weirdness that can occur. Be prepared for very WEIRD shit to happen. It is perfectly normal for this type of work. Once I started doing Kriya Pranayama 2, is when a lot of the weird stuff started happening. Definitely pace yourself and follow the advice of practicing the technique once a week at the beginning. -

I would follow the routine as described. It's fine if it takes you longer, as long as you are doing all of the practices I believe the Mantra (Japa Yoga) practice is optional, but it does say above the suggested routine, if you are doing a mantra practice, to at some point during the day repeat your mantra 108 times aloud and also mentally repeat your mantra during every free moment of your day. -

Do it! I definitely want to read Sadhguru's book at some point. I am sure there is a lot of good wisdom there. -

Let me know how your practice goes. I will report my results using the other book. I think it might be good for all of us, who are doing different styles of Kriya, to report our results. That way we can compare and contrast different schools of Kriya and determine which ones are perhaps more beneficial. -
onacloudynight replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I agree. Kriya Secrets Revealed definitely lacks detailed explanations, hence why there are a lot of questions coming to this forum. That book you mentioned actually looks promising, it seems to take more of an integral approach. I am going to have to try it out myself and judge. I think it might be healthy to explore your options before settling on one school of yoga and pick one that resonates with you. I believe I am done with Kriya Secrets Revealed for now. -
@ZZZZ I am in a very similar situation. I am basically a social recluse, but I am not bothered by this. I find that once you are able to tap into really deep states of consciousness, you don't really need friends. The whole universe becomes your friend at that point
