  1. Exactly. He had mystical experiences yes, but his interpretation of them are what made his approach questionable.
  2. Exactly. I remember Leo once saying that Hawkins put Ben Shapiro on a higher level of consciousness than liberals...so take of that what you will
  3. Napoleon Hill was a psychopath. He would practice under the term "Attorney at law" despite the fact that he never did legal services for anyone. He would physically abuse his wives and frequently cheat on them with prostitutes. He committed mail fraud in the lumber industry and most historians doubt that he ever actually met Andrew Carnegie. He later fled to Washington DC to avoid bankruptcy with the pseudonym "Napoleon Hill." He would found an automobile college, which would later go bankrupt because students were not paid for their labor. Because of this, his focus then became on how to sell cars—but it more so focused on how to get more people to sign up: this business model would eventually become a multi-level marketing scheme. Illinois had several warrants for his arrest. He tried to sell shares of his fraudulent automobile college at $100,000 despite its assets only being worth $1,200. His "George Washington Institute" was later found to be fraudulent by many of his students and it was unaccredited. The FTC charged him for fraudulent advertising in 1919 and they discovered that the funds he raised for a veterans charity were being put into oil stock. Most historians doubt that he ever actually met Franklin D. Roosevelt and they doubt that Hill was the one who coined the phrase "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." He divorced his wife after he met a younger girl at one of his lectures who he proposed to the next day. He would end up living with his own son, and Hill's son's wife left due to harassment and abuse with his son. After the financial success of think and grow rich, he joined The Royal Fraternity of the Master Metaphysicians cult, and the book become a religious text. Most of the book was written by Hill's "spirit voices." The cult would adopt a kid and raise them in a way that would purportedly grant them immortality, and Hill become the godfather. But police caught wind of this eventually and the cult's leader, no surprise, said that Hill had scammed him. Most of the book's money went to his divorced wife, and his later books would prove to be financial failures. In 1952 he launched yet another get rich quick scam. Just something to think about.
  4. I think it's understandable to question the nature of humans...especially in relation to veganism and animal agriculture. However, comparing human dietary choices to the instinctual survival behaviors of other animals—like a crocodile's need to kill to survive—overlooks a crucial difference ... our capacity for ethical reasoning and moral decision-making. Humans have a complex biology. But suggesting that a vegan lifestyle is a rejection of our nature simplifies of humans. Our adaptability and intelligence have allowed us to thrive on a variety of diets throughout different time periods and in different environments. The argument for veganism is less about denying our biological potential for omnivorous diets and more about electing to make choices that align with ethical considerations regarding animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and health. saying veganism is an identity crisis or a form of "dysmorphia" misunderstands the motivations behind the choice. Vegans usually become vegan in the first place via critical thinking about the impact of their choices on animals... the planet... and their own health. This isn't "rejection of humanity" but its an embrace of our unique human ability to reflect on and adjust our behaviors based on ethical considerations. & I also think that implying selfishness is foundational to being human underestimates human compassion and our capability for altruism. History and current history are have tons of humans acting against their immediate self-interest for the greater good or in defense of ethical principles. The choice to be vegan is an example wherein individuals might see the welfare of animals and the environment over personal convenience or habit. Embracing veganism doesn't mean denying our nature any more than adopting any other ethical standpoint does. It's more so about the fact that we see other animals might eat each other out of necessity while also seeing that have the privilege of choice. Utilizing our human attributes of empathy and moral reasoning, I think adopting a plant-based lifestyle isn't "being untrue to our nature" and isn't an "identity crisis" ... it's a celebration of the best aspects of what it can mean to be human. & using your same logic, it's perfectly nature for humans to rape each other and kill infants, which has been done by humans for thousands of years because "humans are killers." Humans have the capacity for moral reasoning. I disagree.

  6. It's so worth it if you're using YouTube on mobile. On browser you can just use ad block, but it's bundled with YouTube music. don't know how I'd be able to watch YouTube without it on mobile w/ the ads
  7. That's because the good life is the challenging life.
  8. This made me laugh out loud 😂 You're being sarcastic, right?
  9. Dr. Matthew Nagra is a naturopathic doctor who does a lot of fact-checking online when it comes to claims about nutrition. He collaborated with some colleagues and pulled together many studies examining the effects that PBMAs have on CVD and the results are pretty counterintuitive. Despite being ultra-processed, they still fare well in mitigating risk of developing CVD. https://onlinecjc.ca/article/S0828-282X(23)01882-2/fulltext

  11. Hey actualized, It's been a while since I've post in here. I come to you in a time of great need. As you may have known, I'm currently working at an organic health foods store and it's a pretty solid working environment. The front end department has many people come and go because it's a customer facing job, of course, and recently this really cute girl who's anywhere between the ages of 18 and 21 started working here. I have yet to be in a relationship. My experience when talking to women is lacking, to say the least. I had an intense infatuation for this one girl in my psychology clsss who didn't feel the same way towards me and I don't want to repeat that blunder. How can I shift my mindset about her? What should be my ultimate goal when conversing with her? How do I have her develop an emotional connection to me? What I'm do I do? I saw she had a Led Zeppelin T-shirt today and I figured I might as well compliment her on it and establish that we have similar music interests. She smiles when talking to me. What other conversation topics can I use when I see her in the break room, for example?
  12. Are you aware of antagonistic pleiotropy?
  13. You could end up shooting up ozempic with a bunch of hot MILFS at their house, referring to it as "drugs."
  14. The gray silhouette of some dude on a black backdrop is promising for some, but its overuse strips you of individuality! It's hard to remember someone just by their name when they can have a profile picture represent them. Actualizers, I've noticed recently more and more of you have been using the default photo - which is fine by any means. But when practically everyone uses it in some threads it gets, needlessly complicated I know you know who I'm talking to ...
  15. Obsidian has a one-note type thing built into it (excalidraw and/or canvas), not to mention. Its community is amazing and there are thousands of free plugins to choose from to supercharge your thinking. Highly recommend obsidian myself. But yeah, me and @Ayham use the PARA method and see similar results. I changed mine up a bit and label the four main folders as three main ones: 1. Inbox (all new notes go here for further sorting) 2. Resources (all my 100+ notes go here, unsorted, with tags) 3. Personal (all my thousands of journal entries go here, my projects, areas, and I sort by month for current year like June 2024 and for previous years I have 2023. I also put goals and other miscellaneous personal items here) 4. Home (it's not a folder, it's a note. It has links to my library which uses something called DATAVIEW which is like, it is a table that automatically makes links to whatever tags you set it to. Like I have a table which sorts through my 100+ notes and finds only #dating-advice ones and puts all the links to those notes there) Hope that helps!
  16. Personally, I think it depends on what kind of porn you watch. 99.9% of porn is genuinely disgusting and definitely fucks up your sexual energy. But I remember Leo said something about the 0.1% of porn on the internet that's high-consciousness. For example - there's a couple who initially started recording them having sex without the intent to upload it to the internet. Eventually they did, and they started an onlyfans. Their names are Damien and Diana. The level of love that they have in their relationship is unbelievable. Damien and Diana are a couple who are both deeply in love and one day they just decided to record themselves having sex one day. They upload their stuff onto PornHub as well, but you can't see their faces (for the most part, they give up blurring their faces halfway through lol) I'm bringing this up because their sexual relationship completely changed the way I view sex. Personally, it doesn't fuck up my sexual energy whatsoever and actually enhances it for some odd reason.
  17. A new item recently arrived at the health foods store I work at and on first glance I scoffed at the prospect of drinking a beverage that was made by seeping banana peels in water. It was only when I looked at the nutrition content on the back that I was genuinely surprised. It has 340% your RDA of vitamin A, 460% your RDA of Vitamin B6, and 70% of your RDA for magnesium, not to mention 450mg of magnesium and ~0.5mg of manganese (20% RDA) and only 80 calories! For only ~$3 this is amazing. It doesn't taste half bad either. The only downside I can think of is if it's a brand that doesn't use organic bananas (this one does) and possible pesticide exposure. I'm wondering what your thoughts on this are. Did I just stumble across a "super beverage?"
  18. How is that a lot of sugar, especially compared to the calorie content?
  19. I recently attended a concert hosted by Rising Appalachia in my hometown, and it had quite possibly the most hippie girls I've ever seen in my life. The entire venue was flooded with the caricatures of the iconic "hot witch gf" that these forum users seem to adore, and I was even planning on talking with some of them as cold approach. Rule one of any concert is to only light up when your favorite band gets on stage. You don't want the initial part of your high to be a shitty opener (openers usually suck, by the way). There goes that portion of my high. An hour and a half goes by until Rising Appalachia takes center stage. Living soul organic weed from California + zero tolerance for Marijauna ... I could hardly even walk properly. Navigating the crowd while tweaking and avoiding eye contact because you're focused on where you're stepping was certainly a challenge in and of itself. Opportunity comes right up to my front door as people my age are just chatting beside me and they're like minded. One of them attends the Ivy League School of my state and the other one is a hot witch girlfriend who grows frogs and was born in a bathtub and left there? I don't remember the details too vividly. anyways This goes out as a warning to those who are planning on going to concerts to talk to girls and get numbers with a cold-approach style of game. Your best bet is going in on it sober. It's different if you have a social circle with you, though. Potent Marijauna without tolerance will make your game suffer.
  20. I'm glad that you made it through such an experience and came out stronger and more resilient than before! The same cannot be said for most people who have an experience like that, so hats off to you man.
  21. I think the same can be said for most alcohol at bars. I remember Leo saying it's best to practice pickup when sober.
  22. Kava bars and tea bars are where the more beautiful and health conscious girls are in my city at least. They're popping up all over the place. You aren't dealing with bumbling bar hedonists at places like these.
