  1. You know there are things you want to change. So why do the same conflicts keep happening in your relationships? Why do the same people keep triggering you? Knowing something intellectually and being able to live it in the moment are two very different things. You know you don’t need everyone’s approval, but you still find yourself changing how you act depending on who you’re around. You know you don’t want to judge someone, but you find yourself doing it anyway. We read the books. We learn about spirituality, psychology, relationships, communication, and self-awareness. And yet we still take things personally. We still get caught in the same emotional patterns. I’ve experienced this too. How can you understand something completely, yet in the moment still find yourself reacting in ways you thought you had already outgrown? I think this is what Leo calls mental masturbation 😂 What’s actually keeping you stuck? Maybe it’s an assumption, an expectation, or an old belief? Maybe it’s something you’re trying to control. Maybe it’s something you haven’t realized is there yet. The difficulty is look beneath the surface of your reactions and explore the beliefs, assumptions, expectations, and emotional patterns behind them. To explore the story you’re telling yourself, the assumptions you’re making, the expectations you’re holding, the things you’re taking personally, and the parts of your identity you’re trying to protect. What are you telling yourself in that moment? What are you assuming? What are you making the other person’s actions mean about you? What are you taking personally? And what might become possible if you could see the situation differently? If you’re struggling with embodiment of the concepts and ideas Leo presents us with, let’s open it up in this thread. We can take a real situation you’re struggling with, whether it’s a relationship conflict, a recurring situation, or simply something you don’t understand about yourself, and break it down together, looking at what was happening inside you moment by moment. So you can catch yourself when you start reacting automatically, question what is happening inside you, and choose how you want to respond. You can handle conflict differently while having more peace within yourself, even when the people and circumstances around you aren’t how you want them to be. Most importantly, you start to realize that you have more freedom than you thought you did. You don’t need another book or teaching to tell you what you already know. You need a way to actually live it. Maybe you just need someone to help you bring what you already understand into the way you relate to yourself, your partner, your family, your friends, and life itself.
