  1. @Sucuk Ekmek Anabasis by Xenophon is pretty good if you haven't read it, he speaks about Socrates fighting. There's a free audiobook on one of those free audiobook sites
  2. Socrates lived during an age of constant war between many different small nations, Socrates was actually like a General at a time. much more primitive time, much smaller nations, he was pre Roman empire, pre alexander the great (greek empire) in times like those democracy would be death or oppression. we live in a much more connected and peaceful world so robust debate is more important than decisiveness and tribal loyalties as it was back then reminds me of churchill, Britain wanted the authoritarian during the war, but immediately ditched him once it was over. Democracy has that card when need be, but it doesn't work the other way around a noble king or representatives would be great, but we've had that experiment go under time after time. *Rome was a Republic by the way
  3. @Strannik I'll stop, but sincerely, i suggest you consider you may have some beliefs you're believing. and yes, in the 'absolute' way
  4. and there it is Textbook Buddhist religion, completely misunderstood buddhism but, common
  5. so there is a "problem"? or is there "nothing wrong with it"?
  6. so you purport(via conjecture, not by lying) you don't believe in time, but you believe only one thing happens at a TIME. There's no happening one at a time, that would be time
  7. time is another belief of yours; "now", "one at a time"
  8. You're not seeing anything there is no totality of infinity, that's finitude
  9. i suggest you question that belief, sincerely. The liberation you're seeking is right in front of you
  10. there is no 'believing in infinity', realizing infinity is the lack of beliefs. When you have no beliefs, that's realizing infinity. there is no faith, no hoping, in realizing infinity
  11. so believing finitude is possible, is more liberating? finitude is within infinity
  12. okay, your reasoning for this thread is 'ultimate liberation' right? how could you be more liberated than infinity, than having no beliefs nothing to be chained by? sincerely, i suggest you look into what consciousness is a little more
  13. just consider, that you don't understand what people even mean by consciousness, it's clear in your previous post and probably most of the other ones
  14. shed all of your beliefs, you'll feel infinity, you don't even need dmt
  15. well there are absolutes in both those statements but, that's still not the problem, just a symptom what you're describing, that "what if there's something else we're not experiencing", consciousness is infinity, it's not an experience, it's not a thing. Experiences, that you are not experiencing, are all within consciousness. You saying we could be illusions of aliens, that's within consciousness, if 'your' thoughts and experiences are made by aliens, that's within consciousness, actually, your thoughts and experiences being made by aliens IS within consciousness there's not even an 'if'. Infinite
  16. and you don't recognize you have a belief from such knowledge? "it's the highest degree of liberation from fooling yourself" (Absolute Truth?) I think where you're stumbling is with what consciousness is, it seems you think it's your conscious mind, what you're aware of
  17. this is why i said you're superimposing your belief, i know you're saying you can't know, but in your next sentence you state knowns
  18. same thing from my first post, that you can 'know' something
  19. my comment wasn't about your language "people", it's about your belief being blatantly apparent throughout the thread while stating your enlightenment or whatever you want to call it is about no beliefs, you have to be able to see it
  20. @Strannik LOL, this coming from the guy trying to teach that to other 'people'
  21. @Strannik so other than for arguing with people on the internet, what difference does anything you're saying make?
  22. @Gabith can you think of any small things you enjoy, easily accessible things; watching the sky, stars, a walk in the park, yoga, a nice glass of water, swimming, sleeping, eating an orange? "first seek the kingdom of heaven, then...." seek joy(the kingdom of heaven) first, then decide how to use your life, don't think there's something you must do to attain joy. just enjoy life, enjoy life first, now, then figure out what to do have you noticed you're more truly productive when you enjoy life? Being busy does not mean truly productive if you're working in the wrong direction, which is the case when you can't see which way to go, enjoying life brings clarity. *i don't mean fake enjoyment though; partying, travelling, gluttony, excess, vanity ..... enjoy, and follow maslows pyramid, that's how you will change the world in the way you want to. As paradoxical as it sounds, you need to enjoy with how it already is first
