What do you mean by that? The mind is completely self aware, where exactly may it rise to? Only it exists for itself, phenomenologically. Other things outside it may exist or may not, but our study here is what's actually in direct experience. Anyway, I don't recommend taking anything I say, or anyone else sais without a grain of salt. It's good to be able to reach these insights on your own, through plenty of contemplation. It's like learning algebra: you can go to the end of the book and all the answers are there, but it's not the point. You need learn to go through all the steps to be able to solve it on your own. What do you mean? -

@kbone I was just talking theoretically what could take the place of magic, but I'm in a good place myself : ) -

@kbone There can be lots of things: obsessive thoughts, boredom, brain fog, being "busy", obsessive doing, mindless stimulation, low value relationships, substance abuse. -
You can guide God back to itself? That would be something : ) Leo, I really hope you didn't take offence. I'm an avid follower and a huge fan of your work for over 10 years. I write these things out of deep care. I truly hope you're doing well—and that others continue to find in your work the same deep inspiration that I have. So thank you for all the work and the dedication. For a long time I have struggled with just simple sanity, and now I've come to really appreciate it, so I'm focused on getting to the highest possible sanity. I'm afraid Enlightenment work is possibly entangled with some insanity, so I just want people to be more cautious.

@Nemra Do numbers exist? What does it mean for them to exist? Where do they exist?
-
Anton Rogachevski replied to Anton Rogachevski's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
No such thing. -
@Nemra "Division" is an idea you can't actually do that, only imagine you are doing it. Leo's explaining it thoroughly in the last video about proving God.
-
In order for there to be "steps" you need to imagine them first.

@kbone Thank you for the feedback : ) Your journey sounds magical! It takes me a couple of days of all day meditation and quiet to really get in touch with the magic of experience again. -
I hope you can see that both of these Ontological claims are very bold. And both carry almost the same burden of proof. Although to claim infinity is more bold i think, but can't say it's more than an intuition. A scientist might give a better explanation of why infinity would be very hard to have. To even prove there are "things" in existence or to even define "existence" in the first place are a very serious philosophical questions. The limit of the speed of light is showing a finite aspect of the physical dimension.

In what way?

@Leo Gura I hope you don't think of me as just a critic for criticism's sake. I really do care about Truth very much. It's true that we imagine our birth and death, and so within experience we seem immortal, but our body that is facilitating that experience was born, and will die for sure. These two truths can co exist, it just takes humility and meta vision to see. I don't deny that mystical experiences are cool and should be studied to some degree, but we should always take even direct experience with a just a pinch of salt. So dance away, but just don't throw reason completely out the window 💫

@samijiben The mainstream will do as mainstream does, it will take a simple idea like take 5meo to get truth and will propel it in a simplistic and easily marketable way.

@samijiben תודה רבה גבר! אקח בחשבון : ) -
I know that logic trick, it's neat I must admit, but this is exactly how "infinite" things occur when you try to use logic to derive ontology. Logic is a great abstract tool of the brain, but it's only abstract. A good example is Zeno's race of halves: We all know that the race must be finite, but if you pose it as halving the distance you set yourself up for imagining an infinite race.

@kavaris Unknowing is stable in that you simply don't know and can't ever : ) -
The fact that people say something for a long time doesn't make it right. I'm hope you are right. My intuition is telling me there can't be an infinite object. It just doesn't make sense for something to be physically endless. Your intuition is skewed by insanely high states which had just shattered your ability to reason in a sane way unfortunately. I'm sorry.

I don't think that you take it seriously enough that a lot of people do follow you and take it very seriously, just look at this forum how much your message of "just take 5meo and you will know truth" is repeated. Are you sure your aren't leading them astray?

@Breakingthewall This is profound thank you sharing ❤️ -
@Leo Gura Leo, if all scientists became philosophers or mystics who would build your pc and smartphone? Who would solve global warming? They would just sit and talk all day about how well they understand God, and how stupid everyone is for not understanding it. Where does that lead us? What's the value? God as a firefly is already caught within the confines of the brain, it is simply the nature of consciousness as it becomes self aware in a high state. A high state is not a natural phenomenon, but a distortion which is not supposed to happen naturally. Only a mild high state from a long meditation, that I'll grant. Sorry to ruin the party, I'm afraid you won't like my new hypothesis. I think that psychedelics disturb the module in the brain that is responsible for perception of limits and so you get an illusion of infinity, and since you are inside the illusion there's no way to disprove it as there is no apparent reference point anymore - that was the belief in an external finite world.

@Breakingthewall Sounds interesting. Are you conscious of this? How did you derive that explanation? The physical plane is full of limits. The laws of physics for example - the limit on the speed of light. The essay was explaining that I don't have access to reality and so I'm not making any Ontological claims, only Phenomenological. -
Anton Rogachevski replied to Anton Rogachevski's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This part is a hypothetical myth. But I don't see how something other than imagination may be infinite, it doesn't make sense for something to go on forever. The darkness I'm referring to is the beginning of life on earth. I'm not saying the void is limited or that it has started on Earth, but it is relevant for us humans. The other option is indian myth - stating that it's cyclical, but these are just backwards rationalization attempts to explain the appearent phenomenon. -
Anton Rogachevski replied to ActualizedJohn's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I agree with @UnbornTao @zurew @Carl-Richard You guys are shooting in the right direction and see the situation here clearly and with great sanity. @ActualizedJohn You are going in a great direction from what I see! You are skeptical and curious and actually want the Truth, and this brings me joy! Keep going like that and your understanding will deepen with time, that's almost guaranteed. This is a great assumption you have: "There may be something deeper." That's a very advanced question you are asking, as it relates to the field of Ontology, but to go so far as to claim something about the actual nature of reality itself requires a prior basis of understanding and a well founded epistemic ground as the foundation for this inquiry. Some question to contemplate further with this if you would like to: What is your definition of Solipsism? What does it mean for you to be in a Solipsistic World if that was the case? What does it mean to "know"? How can we "know"? What is "truth"? (there are many kinds) How accurate and reliable is the instrument of inquiry? (the brain) Is the human brain designed to derive truth? Is experience a valid instrument? What is a "proof"? What kind of proof can even satisfy you? How to prove things? What is a belief? What isn't a belief? -

Thank you dude! I really wish it would spark more of a mutual contemplation around here, but get almost no comments : (
