@TheAvatarState Do you blame a child for drinking bleach? Or the irresponsible parent? -

@TheAvatarState She said that she read many books, so she heard what he said a million times over, but it just didn't register. If the person is not ready it's just not going to happen. She had to grow and develop to reach that point. So I guess in a sense the spiritual path might have helped. Still we don't know that she got it there while talking to Rupert, or will ever get it. Some people simply aren't meant to wake up in this or the next couple of life times, that's just evoulution. -

I'm happy to hear man. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. The video though, made me quite sad, to see this woman who was looking for 40 years for something she just can't find. And then the man who keeps telling her the same thing one tells a beginner seeker. This made me realise that there might be a need to recognise when people are not ready, and to keep this trap away from them. She literally burned her precious time doing this to no avail at all. Is there really no other way to help her be conscious and meditate? If we only had a way to recognize and give people the material they currently need to develop, and keeping the too advanced material for when they are ready. I realise how crazy that thought is, but what else can we do? -

@purerogue Some good points. I think he might have referred to which stage on the spiral the seeker is. -

@Hellspeed Please pay attention, no one told you to accept any authority, it was your own projection. We can hear and contemplate ideas without automatically believing them. But if you judge and disqualify them prematurely you will lose precious contemplation time, and miss potentially deep insights. -

@EternalForest Please be mindful of projection and judgment about zen. Even if it was true, there are still invaluable lessons to be taken from such a rich, rational and highly spiritual tradition. The zen teachings of Bodhidharma, one of the best books on enlightenment, if not the best. Also try not to assume things about psychedelics without trying first. It's an amazing tool, very practical and deeply therapeutic. -

Acceptance is an aspect of love, it's a subtle form of it. It's hinted in the fact that applying acceptance brings peace and removes suffering. From simple observation one could easily conclude that love and consciousness are somehow related, since conscious beings act in general more lovingly and compassionately. In many traditions god was referred to as loving, and love appears to have a healing power on us. Our intuition senses that love is important, and therefore we talk about it a lot, write books, songs and films about it. Obviously this is not romantic love (although it is a partial manifestation of it), or the idea of perfect love, but a natural force that has an important role in reality. It is the light that shines from god upon himself, the tool he uses to battle his dark side, the devil in him. It is the energy of life that gives balance to things and keeps equilibrium. Without it god wouldn't be able to do much. If we lack love, we get sick, depressed and die soon. We are blessed with love all around us, and thus saved by god. He's giving it to us constantly in hope that we might learn to recieve it one day. So if love is godly it means, it has the same elusive nature, so everything I say is love, is not love. Love is the lover. It's you. -

Then, by trying to explain the unexplainable, the master realises what a foolish task he took upon himself, how insignificant he is to this process, and that he can't teach anything to anyone, since god took care of everything long ago, it's all good as it is, it's all going in the right direction, that experience brings further humility. It must be so, because that's the persistent nature of the ego. -

Could it be that the student is actually the master, and the master a student? I came across such a thought today after a meeting with a trainee. I've been coaching him for a couple of months now, and now I'm starting to see that he's a greater man than me. I have actually ended up learning by trying to "teach" him, but the only difference is, that I'm experienced with some so called 'spiritual knowledge', and he's not at all, still he shows amazing personality traits such as humility, good-heartedness, care for humanity, compassion, he knows how to enjoy life and has great hobbies, good at being a friend. From the start I was very cautious with the nature of our work, stating that I'm not a teacher, and that we are working equally towards the same goal. But now I actually see that. Amazing! Who teaches who? -

"When we achieve that, there will be no desire or thought of any sort. So long as one desires liberation, so long, you may take it, one is in bondage." "Realisation is nothing to be gained afresh; it is already there. All that is necessary is to get rid of the thought ‘I have not realised’. Stillness or peace is realisation. There is no moment when the Self is not. So long as there is doubt or the feeling of non-realisation, the attempt should be made to rid oneself of these thoughts. They are due to the identification of the Self with the not-Self. When the not-Self disappears, the Self alone remains. To make room, it is enough that objects be removed. Room is not brought in from elsewhere." Ramana Maharshi -

So it was the master's trick all along - to get you to believe you were the master, and to come to you as "student", asking for advice, if you are willing to believe that you are in fact the Master, you have unknowingly become a student. -

While in the dream of "reality" we appear to be living in the same "objective reality". (That is due to low consciousness.) But in truth we don't live in any reality, we don't live at all nor die. The only 'thing' that exists is an infinite unity that's outside of our perception (The perceiver), it's dividing itself into seemingly separate cells, and forgets that it did it, and so we come into being, believing we are individual finite creatures, until we wake up one day and remember our primordial unity, we then dissolve back into infinite being, and so the cycle goes on. Obviously this story is not the truth, but it attempts at best to point to it. The truth is not hidden, it's right in front of you. Wake Up! -

You sure are playing, but you just haven't noticed it yet, there's in fact nothing to do but play, but you took your game too seriously and now you go around trying to "help" everyone. Lighten up bro! -

How do you know? Who knows this? What is 'knowing'? What is 'yes' and 'not'? We can play this game forever, yet words are all we have right now. -

Before enlightenment there are two shores, and the dharma can help you cross over, after you've crossed both the shores and the dharma disappear. "Beyond" and "Deeper" also disappear, just an eternal now remains. Once you get there, all doubts will lift, all questions evaporate in an instant. We are standing before an apple tree, and I tell you, go eat the apple, and you say, but what is beyond the apple, and so you remain hungry for apples. Just eat the apple. -

@Truth Addict I tried my best at being challenging. Sorry if it didn't help. I think it's best to remind these points, I wouldn't mind if someone did the same for me. Why? Because raising great doubt is key to this work. We're in this together. Your effort is sincere, and you must keep at it, and reach the limit of knowing for yourself, only then you will be satisfied. I don't know of any way more practical and direct than this. But it takes time to realise it, since the mind is distorting everything it sees or hears to its own agenda. (confirmation bias) -

These are groundless assumptions, that I would suggest questioning: "Reality exists. I exist." "Reality doesn't exist. I don't exist." "There is existence." "There is truth, and it can be found out." "There's something to 'get'. Or 'someone' to get it." "There is something more to reality than I think I know." "Truth is what is." "Truth is the present moment." "Zero mystical experiences so far" How do you know you are not having one right now? How do you know all these things? Why are you so sure? Being sure is never a good sign, it means you've bought into your own beliefs. -
Anton Rogachevski replied to Truth Addict's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Don't get what? There's nothing to get. If you even want to get it in the first place, you haven't surrendered your will fully. It will happen naturally as you keep trying and failing. "If a fool persists in his folly, he can become wise” Only upon deep practice you will find out what not-knowing is. Right now you might think: "huh not-knowing who even cares about knowing", but you actually left many basic assumptions unquestioned without noticing. @Barna This man should totally make an "I'm enlightened" post! He's totally woke. -

Then is life the teacher or the person? please decide. Knowledge is the only thing a teacher can teach, but it's best to always be a student, and never a teacher to avoid delusion and pride. One can claim to know many things simply because he memorised them, but to claim wisdom is foolish, you would miss many lessons that way. Deep un-knowing is the key to true wisdom. -
Anton Rogachevski replied to Anton Rogachevski's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
If there's just reality, then no teacher or master had ever existed, just god, teaching himself. -

Are you still trying to teach? Prepare for many lessons. The teacher is the student.
