Interesting I'll definitely watch it later. But after careful investigation I have finally discovered the best definition of what ego is. Ego is that which experiences difference/interprets difference, and that which attempts to hoard/hold onto, anything that appears. You could call it that which holds appearance together, that which stabilizes and creates equilibrium. The issue is most humans ego's are designed to create self-serving ideologies. The problem is NOT the ego, the ego is a tool for Consciousness to experience difference. The issue is how the ego is USED. You see people think ego is just selfishness and that if they stop acting selfish they will escape the grasp of the ego...you won't! The ego literally is your reality appearing to be separate. Once you discover for yourself proof that everything is YOU, then you have escaped the egoic interpretation of the world. But make no mistake, you will still see and experience difference, you are just no longer ignorant of the fact that everything arising is YOU even if it is annoying you or a hindrance of some kind. Oh and one more thing, the more divergent/different a person is, the more their mindset is trapped behind a wall called crazy in comparison to you. So you can be in awe how you as God actually accomplished creating some crazy versions of yourself and the fact you will live their lives as well. P.S. Just watched it and he did a good job. His talk is how to embody love in your life which is a wise thing to do. Any resistance to making more loving decisions in your life is ego. The best way to orient yourself is to treat yourself the way you want to be treated, treat those around you the way they want to be treated, if there is conflict attempt to create an equal exchange and if it cannot be reached be the bigger person and walk away. Don't waste your life in needless conflict because everyone around you is YOU living their own life so what is the point of arguing with yourself? So yeah sometimes just let YOURSELF(others) win and if they are excessive just block them out of your life.

The only part I disagree with is his take on what you should or shouldn't eat being ego driven, I also disagree with his take on you not being friend's with your ego. Many on the path mistakenly think that you have to go to war with your ego. You don't, that perpetuates its control, you are supposed to love it to death. Also he's not wrong its a mental program definitely, it has no awareness of its own it needs your awareness to function but here is the tricky part. Your ego has the ability to trigger emotional responses, it even can trigger biological responses as well so getting it to loosen its grip is no small feat. Because that grip is LOVE, and you have no idea how much you love your ego. To discover what isn't ego is to look at what your true nature is. Your true nature is selflessness, this means your true nature is submission. When you try to rid yourself of ego, that is actually ego because the ego is that which desires control and uses control to meet its objective. But reality is a dream, that is indivisible so how reality actually functions is it controls itself, WITHOUT a controller. This means reality has passive control over itself. The only way for reality to experience its opposite it has to create active control and it does that by creating individuality. But then it has another issue, its always safe, so it has to create danger. It's all powerful so it has to create weakness, ......you get the picture. Anyway the only way to connect to God is through submission. Why? Because God is absolute submission so much that God does not exist. So the only way to connect to that which is not of the world, but runs the world is through submission. But remember....the ego is not designed to submit it is designed to compete. Well only a young ego believes they have free will. Anyone who has suffered tragedy learns real quick that they have LIMITED free will. That's where the famous phrase Focus on what you can control. It's like this, first everything is God. We all know that but then the question is which part is the human intelligence? All voluntary movements are what we can say is the ego domain and all involuntary movements we can say are non egoic movements. But to use this scenario you would have to see the ego as also God, but just as the small version as form. Through this dynamic you can actually investigate what is out of the ego's control. The ego does not control that it was a human, doesn't control its race, its country of birth, the list goes on. It doesn't even control its heart beat or its brain and other internal organs. So from this we can see that trying to gain Absolute control over life is a fool's game because there are so many things you cannot control. Now with that said you CAN deconstruct the ego and discover that it's not alive, you are life creating the ego in the present moment but if you choose to go down that path beware....you have to discard your sanity if you want to go all the way.

Some people might ask what is the point to vagueness, to awakenings that aren't direct. The point of vagueness, of things not being completely clear is so you can enjoy being surprised to what it exactly is. I just had an awakening that everything is my own surface, or you could say my own skin and it hides itself to awaken to itself in a different way.

God as all of its collective parts is trying to construct the perfect dream world. The point of survival is to give God some obstacle to make it difficult. This difficulty is there also to unite all parts of God to help all its parts work in harmony to construct this dream world. And that's why the principle of Sovereignty exists. This recognition has to occur above the human intellect, it needs to be a felt experience for you to truly be awake. Also the only thing that separates you from experiencing Reality a different way is access to that particular state. There are only states of consciousness. Your personality is a state of consciousness, your memory is a state of consciousness, knowing you have a body is a state of consciousness. So the only solution to raise humanity from their global warring is to cause a massive state change in collective human consciousness

This is what it means when it says you are the Universe and when your human self dies you take the Whole Universe with you. There is only ONE AUDIENCE, ONE CREATOR, ONE EXPERIENCER, AND ONE EXPERIENCE.

If that person fully awakens to themselves as LOVE their suffering will disappear.

Because you are everything, there is no hierarchy. Why? Because everything is completely identical that it cancels everything out making all competition results neutral. Once you realize this, you have TRULY AWAKENED. There really only is YOU, when your God Self appears to you, you discover its just a more expanded version of you, which is just a Mind with no bias, no hierarchy. As such you actually have to Co-Create Enlightenment which means all Enlightenment lived experiences are unique to the Co-Creator and the ONE GOD that unites us all. God is a love of intelligence first, and a Creator of Intelligence first, and all experience you ever go through is always in service to the expansion of collective's knowledge of how to create in a more good and loving/unity way. God is an infinite Co-Creation process with itself.

You are correct, but the funniest thing and I am telling you when you find this out you will laugh. Those people are literally YOU living another life. So the absolute truth is whatever they do or anybody does for that matter is exactly what you would do if you were them. As humans the only separation is the emotional interpretation of our life story we are always carrying which is the birth of our mindset, and the experience of our physical body. This is the birth of the I am a person. This person is only asleep as different when they are disconnected from heart, from their love for themselves and all of creation. The desire for all of creation to thrive, is the love that unites us all.

The only corruption is thinking that accomplishments like money and social status equals your worth. This is the biggest issue in the human world and is the reason God as all of these humans struggles to feel like it belongs. The secret why you matter? Cause you are the only one here. Existence, Life, is a miracle which means you are a miracle. The path to a healthy mindset is to realize that you are so valuable that nothing you do can add to your value because your value is Infinity. Understanding this and accepting this isn't ego, what is ego is believing that your value is more important than some part of creation. Competition inherently produces ego which is why human society is an ego creation machine.

He means well but he hasn't progressed far enough yet is the only issue. He doesn't understand that the NO SELF=The SELF yet. If you don't understand that the Little self is =THE SELF and can only ever understand itself in relation to THE SELF then you will demonize all conceptual knowledge not realizing that the little self = A Concept. So the little self cannot escape its concepts....because all it is made of is actualized concepts.

Yeah and the path to that realization is Self-Honesty, you have to pour your heart out to your heart, for your heart to awaken within. God is your true heart within.

All of experience can be seen as One Object, every something that is currently existing. As such The Self is purely objective, it is its own purpose in the making and sustaining of it. Then there is the smaller self, the self that experiences the big Self and its purpose is to expertly align its meaning, its subjectivity with the object, thus becoming pure subjectivity. This means you have achieved perfect communication with and within the Field of Consciousness around you because your hierarchal mental judgments no longer obscure your view. Once this is achieved God is awakened that all it is doing is Sharing its big Self with its little self, with the toughest lesson of all being, the definition of true strength which is vulnerability, which is the ability to be weak, to have limits and accept them as they are. Understand that all of life are equal gladiators in this arena of survival called life and as a result are all equally deserving of respect. True Adulthood is recognizing that all life is noble, because it must ultimately equally navigate a world of survival. This is where the sovereignty of all life is birthed from. This can only be achieved by recognizing that all of life is its own celebrity worthy of celebration and if its not being recognized it just means that greatness is hidden in one of the greatest disguises.

I hear what your saying but its not some dead programing. The ego is tied to your intellectual and emotional system, you can literally trigger biological functions when you mess with it. The ego is literally, metaphysically made of love, a tangled web of love. And also that conditioning gets updated constantly. The conditioning is not the problem, its a lack of awareness of what conditioning is and how it operates. Its goes like this.....if you are beholden to the ego you have no freedom cause the program will run its course, but if you are aware then you can always reprogram the program because you are aware of it. Also....your programming isn't shit, well not all of it anyway lol.

He stayed there for awhile before returning to the States and getting married. Now with that said.....it's not as simple as predestination. Predestination implies there is a future, and that there are fixed paths. There are no fixed paths, what is more accurate to say is conditioning plays itself out. A cat will be a cat, a dog will be a dog. But humans are much more dynamic and complicated. What is more accurate is....the ego doesn't control anything, but the ego is given control. So you do have control it is just limited and that limitation is not under your control. You do have free will it is just limited and the control of how limited is not under your control. For example: You could all of a sudden develop some rare unheard of disorder this very moment and be stuck with it. Also someone could develop a cure for that disorder next year and you get cured. Or....you are the rare exception where that cure does not take effect. So yeah....you pretty much just got to accept things as they come.

You actually don't know what ego is because right now you are acting out of ego. This is a thread I have created for a specific purpose. To raise awareness on the differing takes on what ego is in the Spiritual Community. But look at your response, your response reeks of a KNOW IT ALL MENTALITY that completely ignores what I am saying. You do this because you are impatient and close-minded and instead of acknowledging your error you double down and repeat the same point. 4. I am not asking for people's personal definition, I'm asking for how their personal definition of ego DIFFERS from Aaron's and Leo's. So stop making assumptions and actually learn how to LISTEN. You have a listening problem and a reading comprehension problem, this is because you assume your point of view is Superior. I don't have that issue. The whole point of this post was to share differing perspectives on what the ego actually is. If you didn't watch either video...your post becomes pointless. You basically posted just to gain attention and ignored the entire point of this thread. This is a reaction thread. Watch the content and then give your thoughts, not just give your opinion point blank. Most people already have their own definition of what ego is, the point of this thread was to see where you agree or disagree with Leo and Aaron Akbe's take.

Before Spirituality I helped people because I tried putting myself in their shoes and seeing it from their perspective. After Spirituality I know that you are me. I'll give a good analogy. Think of every human being as a vehicle, the vehicles are different, but the driver is the SAME. Now extrapolate human to all animate an inanimate objects....same driver within. So you are me, living another life at the same time as me as another human being. So why would I not want to help myself? Who knows one day you may get far enough in this work where you realize that I am YOU. But yeah go for it, write that book and let us know about it.

There's a reason that he says this people. The YOU he refers to is the ego, and the ego very intelligently co-opts ownership over awareness, over consciousness, and as a result sometimes you have to speak the way he does. But make no mistake God is also the ego, what do you think constructed the ego? God created the ego, and its God that will have to awaken from its slumber that it is not the ego. The problem? God is the greatest actor, the greatest performer, the greatest creator of all time. When God plays pretend, it completely fools itself. How? Because of the power of love. God loves its performance so much it takes it very seriously and is completely bought in, and this is what we call your life. One exercise you can do to deconstruct is to see your ego as an artificial intelligence that is masking the authentic intelligence that lurks within. After all God is pure authenticity.
