well, for me, clearly there is a face with eyes watching objects in the distance, and I am aware that I'm currently experiencing that right this second, the "experiencer" is the "I" label in thoughts, and "experienced" refers to the past which I'm not interested in. I'm not really sure how you jumped to these conclusions. -
yeah that makes sense, thinking about it more that sounds like a good question to re-frame roles from the root that is identity. hook it up wit suma dat 5-MeO :D?
-
@Leo Gura Can you rephrase this question --> "How does each role feed into your sense of being a self?" don't really understand what you mean.

I've come to realize how little I understand about this concept and why it is that leading the body the mind will follow and leading the mind the body will follow --> If you can't control your mind, control your body, if you can't control your body control your mind. My question is what exactly is going on here? Why is this the case and how does it work? and also what are the practical steps I can take to developing this? From what I currently understand it's about alignment. I hear things such as "honoring your highest wisdom and doing the things you want to and know you should be doing." it seems as though the mind has it's own agenda and the body has it's own agenda. Why can't I simply do the things I know I should be doing? why can't I just flip that switch? Why is it so hard for that transition to occur? It could be limiting beliefs, it could be fears, but I just want to know what's that's ultimately grounded in, is it identity? is it fear? is it not knowing? Is it unconsciousness? Is it distractions? what is the root? so in trying to understand all this I realize I'm missing something. hopefully someone here can help me find what this is rooted in. Any takers? I'm completely open here.

@Alicja_ I agree, it seems as though there is a type of separation of mind and body and there's a state of equilibrium that has to be developed. It's interesting how my mind can know exactly what It wants, but on the other hand my body literally doesn't know how to achieve it or it just flat out resists doing it (distractions, fears, limiting beliefs) and this creates the misalignment. So I guess my strategy is to just slowly teach my body how to just start doing it. I have to know it in my head just as equally I have to know it in my body. The mind is on board and understands. now it's time to help the body be on board and understand. And I believe this is done through leading with the body so it can learn and understand just as deeply as the mind understands.

So I'm writing this because I'm curious to see if anyone has gone through the life purpose course a second time? I've recently decided to go through it a second time because I've learned and improved on so much since a year ago about strategy, structuring, studying, understanding and many more things that I feel I'm actually up to the task and have the skills to actually make a deep understanding of what Leo is showing us and have it nice and neatly laid out in my journal so I have a deep understanding and I'm developing the embodiment that Leo talks about in this life purpose vision. I've decided to take it slow to really get all the gold I can from this. Because before I kind of rushed it, I took all the notes last year but it wasn't really grounded in anything because I was new to this whole thing. I'm actually really excited to be working on this Life Purpose again for the next 2-3 months. Even if nothing comes of it, even if it doesn't work at all and even if it takes me back a notch, It's still worth it. I'm aware this is all talk but I don't know why but I wanted to ask this question and share my view on this hole thing.
-
Everything @CaptainFlint said. To truly embody these concepts will take you a long time. And to be honest, even if you're incredibly determined and do everything (as I did). I believe what you put in is what you'll get out of it (if you know how to get the most out of it.). this is long term strategy and this rule of 80-15-5 explains exactly why most people won't get much from it, this is very long term results we're aiming for here which I don't think most people prepare for.
-
I'm 100% shooting to be in the top 5% among many many other things he mentioned. It's kind of funny talking about it here, because I mean it's all talk, not much point in talking about what I'm gonna do but I guess I posted this because I'm curious about what results others have gotten which according to the 80-15-5 model there probably isn't many people with awesome results. But yeah I finished it last year and it felt great, I learned a lot about myself, my values and important concepts that Leo hadn't covered and that opened things up for me but now that I know how to use this information, it's a whole different view going through it again and I'm really looking forward to it. I actually feel I'm capable of really embodying these things and I've never had that feeling before. "there's a lot of time and effort you're gonna have to put into this course to really work this course. But then again if you're a person who's really serious about living a powerful life then this will be a negligible cost in terms of time and money for you because you can see the potential that this has if you just get this part of your life taken care of. "

IMO, those big three aren't what you should be focusing on, if anything it's Enlightenment, Purpose and Strategy. I can see that you have your mind closed to some concepts because they seem " non-sense or it simply is contradictory to what the sciences says." You don't have to believe people, you can find the truth within your direct experience if you actually try to look for it in your life, in fact this is the only way you should be looking at life. How can a person surrender to their motivation or their vision if they have limiting beliefs about it, a resistance to it, a kind of "but how do I do it? Is it even possible? What if I fail? What do I do? Yeah but this contradicts this." mentality. Motivation is a feeling thing, it sits in your mind and feels good when it shows up in your conscious awareness. You're sabotaging your motivation by whatever limiting belief you hold, whatever resistance you're having when that vision pops up in your mind you gotta ask the important questions like: What kind of reservations do I have about this vision? or What's honestly holding me back? (it's not external things btw) and that's where strategy comes in. This is the inner work that needs to be done, and identifying and strategizing these things is a process.

It's hard for me to see anything getting accomplished without journaling everyday. It's not just about next day things, or plans, I put EVERYTHING in my journal. strategies, things I contemplate, what I want to accomplish, things I need to learn, skills I need to develop, practical action steps, note taking of principles, mindsets, even practical knowledge like how cars work. Everything goes in my journal. It's kind interesting to see how Leo hasn't really covered how important journaling is. It's definitely a foundational thing.

I remember when I first became aware that I was going to eventually die, I think 5-6 sounds about right, I had the same experience pretty closely as you. In the middle of the night, except I sat in my hallway crying, I remember that night so vividly, not so much my thoughts but my emotions and thoughts about death. -
Now the fun part begins getting out of your existential crisis

You never know until you're actually in the experience, to make a judgement based on a "what if scenario" fails to acknowledge that it can go either way, so setting a rule dependent on a future projection seems pointless. I just see you trying to come to a conclusion that is based on being fulfilled with someones personality vs being fulfilled with sexual desires when it reality it doesn't work that way, some people have boundaries when it comes to that, some don't. Some people outweigh the sexual desires and the emotional desires but they go hand in hand. it's dependent on the personality type of a person in the actual experience, not black and white thinking of a yes and no, in reality it's more complicated and you gotta accept that.
-
I won't judge them for who they are if that's what you mean, as for a sexual relationship I personally wouldn't be into that, that's not attractive to me. There's nothing wrong with it, but I wouldn't want that for me personally. Friends, yes, sexual intimate relationship, no.

Honestly I think postures are the last thing you should be focusing on. Just sit as comfortably as you can but not so comfortable you're falling asleep.

Google docs on my phone and my memos (galaxy s7) on my phone for both Journaling and strategizing. I absolutely love google docs, cause I can access it on my regular computer and my phone anytime I need to add, look over, write insights, start a new plan or structure at anytime.

I've been meditating for about a year and a half, only missing a day here and there except for the last 11 months straight I haven't missed and only recently started hitting my plateaus, in the begining there's a lot of insight and a lot of growth but as of late its been very slow going, and its sometime even still hard for me to sit down which I'm still working on but, I'm gonna keep on going here. -

You just gotta pick one for now, pick your favorite word, and over time you'll start to put each meaning in their place the more you define what these words mean for you, this is why Leo says just pick one to get started, the 30 day challenge is gonna help a lot with this and even after the challenge. Add "/" if you really have a tough time. Dive into each words and feel around with them over the 30 challenge.

Challenge the voice, don't just let it take over. "It's not real, Okay, that may be true BUT can I deny it won't help?" "Its not you, okay its not you right now but it can be you, in order to change you have to be not you or you'll never grow." "You've never experienced anything like that, yes okay that's true, but can I allow myself to be open to the idea that I could?" Be very logical with it, challenge them, don't let them take over.

You can do both, but be sure to make that your intention. things change over time as you grow and expand in your consciousness, it's good to re-evaluate when things don't feel right (which is what you're doing right now.) it's okay to be using all these techniques, but just make sure you have set proper intentions for them, if not your mind will have a hard time focusing on what's important or --the intention-- and you will continue to be frustrated.
