This is perfect. I would like to know about: What do you do as a PhD? How free are you to choose what you research? What is your routine/day to day as a PhD/Scientist? Are you mentoring people to join R&D positions?

Are you doing a PhD? Just to clarify.

Recently, I was doing a contemplation exercise where I was trying to THINK beyond the social domain (humans, social conditioning, external reality). I became aware that to live an autotelic life, you will need to reprogram your entire mind from scratch. Your mind will need to work as an outsider, alien or mind engineer. Every action that will be taken, every thought, emotion or movement coming from your "Avatar" will have a unique, original and autotelic intention. Imagine that: your internal world will be extremely alien to 99.9% of humans. You operate on a different scale, paradigm or foundation. Imagine that your life purpose is extremely alien: you do not operate as 99.9% of humans on earth. Your motivation is something that no human that has ever lived on earth thought was possible. Do you know anyone living as that? How rare is to transcend the whole social domain?

I agree. It is not easy to think outside your own programming. But we need to entartain new human possibilities.

I appreciate your views on that matter. I agree - the self is trapped within the symbolic field. The self is a reflection of society and culture. I had to write like that to make people think completely beyond our current assumptions and cultural values. What we can do: becoming conscious, enrich and transform the symbolic field itself. (what if we can create a new symbolic field via transhumanism? - food for thought) The whole idea of this thread is to inspire human beings to become pioneers, innovators and geniuses. Strive to become a human being like Tesla, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Franklin. (Don't compare yourself, become inspired by their achievements) One thing that you do not want: thinking like a machine that can be replaced by AI. Explore novel ways of thinking, think what no human ever thought within the symbolic field. Transhumanism is a door to further exploration.

It is not off topic, I'm glad you bring it on. Reality engineering is a term that was coined by Max Hodak (Neuralink Founder). For myself, it is a philosophy of mind, a way of living, a new kind of science to reprogram your own mind to become a sage, mystic, inventor, painter, futurist, philosopher, pioneer. Deep Understanding Consciousness/Mind -> Radical Introspection -> Reprogramming Your Own Mind/Body -> Become a Revolutionary Genius -> Invent startups, products, services, books, paintings, philosophies, sciences, human domains.

I don't think so. This is a meta-perspective. You are trying to design engineer your mind from scratch. Humans are just defending something that they do not understand. They do not even know that it is possible to transform and engineer their own minds.

I think you do not understood what I said. I'm talking about Mind's Autonomy. It is really easy to conflate autonomy with narcissism.

We are dream engineers here. Getting a PhD on dream engineering is our destiny.
