axiom replied to Demeter's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
No. -
Yes, extremely satisfying and deeply shocking. But so long as you want a different experience, and believe it is possible to bring it about, you are still living in separation. This is why “integration is a bitch”.

It’s not true. Control as an individual never happens. This forum is ostensibly about awakening and enlightenment, yet most of the characters here seem not to have grasped the most fundamental realisation there is: thoughts and actions are not chosen, they just happen. How desperate the self is to survive… -

… and to the extent people think they can do something to bring it about, they will chase their own tails, perhaps forever. -
Don’t forget to hug yourself first ;-)
-
Yes, it could be seen that way.
-
Just to add my 2cents, which is probably worth more than 2cents ;-) Everything is meaningless, including this. Advaita is meaningless. ”God Realisation” is meaningless ”Consciousness” is meaningless. All of “spirituality” is completely and utterly meaningless. “You” will gain nothing, absolutely nothing, from following any spiritual path. *All of it* is a completely pointless. And beautifully so.

@Sincerity It’s not my understanding. There is no me. These are words on a screen, apparently. When you say it rings true, that is also appearing on its own without you. There is no why to it. It is beyond understanding.
-
@Breakingthewall I would say that reality is not deliberate, and that it has absolutely no purpose. There can be no purpose without anyone there to assign it. There can be apparent understanding of a thing (including yourself), but this is only in the dream.
-
@Sincerity That which guides you to awaken is what keeps you asleep (not you personally, but “you”) The self will keep chasing its own tail until it exhausts itself. Spirituality is just another excuse among many, another distraction from IT. It’s a very addictive excuse too - it engages the self like nothing else. I say that “understanding” is to live in separation because nothing can actually be “understood” without apparent subject / object duality. That is, the thing to be understood and the understanding of the thing. This is not what is actually happening. Things arise and that is all. That is to say that everything is completely meaningless, including this. “Pure consciousness” (which is really just the last bastion of hope for the self) requires an observer - the observer may seem to be there on a much more subtle level, or perhaps even not at all, but it is still there (as an illusion) Consciousness is not what it seems to be. That’s the end point of this whole thing. The entire illusion of self is constructed around it.

Yes! Everything is IT already, including apparent understanding. Infinity cannot be circumscribed in any way. It cannot be defined nor understood. "Understanding" is to live in separation. "Consciousness" is also to live in separation, but that seems to be a particularly hard pill to swallow.

Agreed No particular path is more authentic or worthwhile than any other. -

Spirituality is like trying to fix something that isn't broken, in so doing actually breaking it, and then spending the rest of your life trying to fix it while making the situation progressively worse. Finally, "you" give up and realise that you were in your own way all along. Psychedelics are the most seductive part of the dream. 6g of mushrooms is a pretty sure way to break something. Now you'll probably be "on the path" for a few years, convinced that you can go deeper. -

Life is much simpler than you think. It goes like this: 1. Things happen (or seem to); 2. The self (which is entirely illusory) then tries to claim the apparent happening as its own. It believes it either brought it about, or that it somehow owns it. Of course, this is completely untrue because the self does not actually exist. Depression and anxiety happen, seemingly. They are not happening to a "you". There is no you. To the extent you think you are suffering, you might want to seek suitable help (therapy, medicines, whatever). -

The idea of God is itself anthropomorphic, and that’s why some don’t like the term. -

What is being said: ”my identity is illusory. I cannot find ‘me’ anywhere except consciousness” What is then being asked:”…How do I?” There is absolutely no way you can do anything exactly because you’re not there. -
@Recursoinominado Two can play that game, so here goes: You don't know what "not knowing what fascism is" is. Cuba has obvious fascist leanings. China has plenty of the hallmarks of fascism. Granted it's not a perfect example, but it's not a bad one. If you don't understand why, then (and again I'm paraphrasing you here) you don't understand what China is. Let's not forget that Hitler's childhood crush, Mussolini - the prototypical, quintessential angry socialist - invented fascism.
-
If left unchecked, socialism (interventionism) leans towards fascism.

I am not typing. Fingers move, words appear. -

@Thought Art Appearance is already complete. Consciousness is no part of it. The idea of something called consciousness being required for appearance to appear is a hangover from the dream of selfhood. Then, it has outlived its "purpose" and may be dropped. -
axiom replied to Keanu's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Knowledge is a fallacy. There is only appearance. Yes, both are appearances involving apparent misapprehensions. An equally meaningful statement would be: everything that can be blown is bowledge. We can certainly agree on that -
axiom replied to Keanu's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Thought Art The dream of ownership and thus separation. -
axiom replied to Keanu's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
There is no such thing as consciousness. -

I am not talking to you. These are words on a screen, apparently. -

Perhaps we are talking about different things. In "my" opinion, life cannot be navigated by someone who isn't there.
