No! first of all Syria is too diverse to be like Afghanistan. Second, Assad was never a secular ruler, he just wanted the west to view him this way. Wrong because there are no different factions left and the syrian rebels have taken over everything. The minority groups will be fine and Syria is finally back to Syrians. Also, the Syrian rebels includes people from all over Syria. in Syria we lived as Muslims and Christians next to each other for hundreds of years and we will continue to.
