Are there any conformity examples that happen specifically on this forum?

I needed this trip to stop romanticizing Syria. yesterday I saw how whole towns are destroyed due to bombing and I’m here whining about something. I needed this trip so I can go back and focus deeply on my studies. Living here would be a nightmare for me even though I was born and raised here. I love Syria but I need to stop romanticizing this place. It’s affecting my mental health but this trip is also healing because it’s giving me a perspective of how lucky I am to be alive.

I feel like not being a high achiever can be a trap if you discovered spirituality too early in life too.

“Being aware of being aware is the essence of meditation. It is the only form of meditation that does not require the directing, focusing or controlling of the mind.” — Rupert Spira

Lalla, a fourteenth century mystic and poet from the Kashmir Shaivite tradition, referred to this turning around when she said, ‘I travelled a long way seeking God, but when I finally gave up and turned back, there He was, within me. Rupert Spira, Being Aware of Being Aware

Meditation is what we are, not what we do; the separate self is what we do, not what we are. Rupert Spira, The Nature of Consciousness: Essays on the Unity of Mind and Matter

You are an incredible mystery that you will never figure out. To be this mystery consciously is the greatest joy. Adyashanti

Allow your self to be coloured by experience temporarily, but do not become limited by it. To say and identify with the statements ‘I am sad’, ‘I am lonely’, ‘I am tired’, ‘I am hungry’, ‘I am a man’ or ‘I am a woman’ is to allow infinite being to become limited and personal. Rupert Spira, Being Myself

blame is the world’s greatest excuse. It enables us to remain limited and small without feeling guilty. But there is a cost—the loss of our freedom. A feeling that is not resisted will disappear as the energy behind it dissipates. David R. Hawkins, Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender (Power vs. Force, #9)

Letting go involves being aware of a feeling, letting it come up, staying with it, and letting it run its course without wanting to make it different or do anything about it. It means simply to let the feeling be there and to focus on letting out the energy behind it. The first step is to allow yourself to have the feeling without resisting it, venting it, fearing it, condemning it, or moralizing about it. It means to drop judgment and to see that it is just a feeling. The technique is to be with the feeling and surrender all efforts to modify it in any way. Let go of wanting to resist the feeling. It is resistance that keeps the feeling going. When you give up resisting or trying to modify the feeling, it will shift to the next feeling and be accompanied by a lighter sensation. A feeling that is not resisted will disappear as the energy behind it dissipates. David R. Hawkins, Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender (Power vs. Force, #9)

Syria is more diverse than you think. I’m from Syria and I’m the biggest fan of your work.

A useful approach is to let the love for God replace the willfulness that is driving the seeking. One can release all desire to seek and realize that the thought that there is anything else but God is a baseless vanity. David R. Hawkins

"The world consists of imaginary people, claiming imaginary virtues and suffering from imaginary happiness." ~ Vernon Howard "Run forward when possible, walk ahead when you can, stagger onward when you must, but never cease your forward movement." ~ Vernon Howard

Vernon Howard: END THE CAVE OF PAIN What bothered you inside you today? Are you willing to do something different and see through the hoax? If so then you have to take spiritual action, which means walking away from what you’ve protected so foolishly — the cave of pain. Any time during your day you are going to break that emotional stabbing that you felt inside. You’re going to interrupt it and say in a spiritual voice, “I don’t want to associate with you anymore, and with the help of Truth itself, I am not going to.”

Vernon Howard: YOU ARE A RECEIVER Think of yourself as a receiver. Egotism has to be shattered. YOU be the one who got away. There is no answer out there, nor in your own mind. Sit alone and do nothing but think about righteousness. Something has to shatter. This new life is a gift from God. Sit back and let God and his righteousness come to you.
