It’s closeness with isreal the Syrian people which include Christians, Sunnis, Alwaites, Ismailis, Druze, Armenian, Turkmens make it a very very diverse county and we lived together peacefully for hundreds of year even before Assad its geographical location which ties Europe and Asia together Syria can be completely self sufficient and has all the resources to live off and prosper, we have the oil, the fertile land, and had many booming industries before Assad people can’t comphrend how much the Assad family stole from Syria after ruling for 60 years. They treated Syria as a farm. All those factors make Syria unique and you can’t really compare it to any other country.

Again, comparing what happened to other countries with a country like Syria is too myopic. Syria has its own political, geographical, historic situation and so you can’t predict or compare it to any other county nearby. I would advise to stop speculating and see what happens in the next couple of days and weeks on the ground.

No! first of all Syria is too diverse to be like Afghanistan. Second, Assad was never a secular ruler, he just wanted the west to view him this way. He was a militant motherfucker who destroyed Syrian lives from Christian, Armenian and Alawaite communities. third , Julani has said that HTS will probably dissolve it self because Syria is too diverse to ruled by some Islamists unless that’s what people want.

Syrian rebels are finally united after 10 years of brutal war. They wouldn’t be able to topple Assad if they weren’t united.

Wrong because there are no different factions left and the syrian rebels have taken over everything. The minority groups will be fine and Syria is finally back to Syrians. Also, the Syrian rebels includes people from all over Syria. in Syria we lived as Muslims and Christians next to each other for hundreds of years and we will continue to. You can’t compare us to Iraq and Libya. Syria has it own complex makeup which makes it very diverse and unique. Just watch us succeed as a country finally.
