I don't understand why you are identifying as a word that refers to a nonexistent impossibility. It can't exist because it refers to the absence of existence. It is quite literally the denial of existence. In other words nothing is not present because it doesn't exist. This seems to contradict your presence. So I guess I don't understand why being is equated with nothing. There is not nothing because there is you. And you can't be nothing because then you wouldn't exist. And if you didn't exist then you wouldn't be able to read this. Yet you are reading this which proves that you exist. In conclusion why identify as any concept or word? Whether it be awareness, consciousness, nothing, pure awareness, being etc. You are none of these. These are just identities you have created for yourself. Simply I am.

The inspiration for this post is the bold claim that "nothing is happening" that I have seen some people post. 2 claims (potentially disputable): 1. Nothing is the absence of all things and phenomenon. Ex. "Nothing is in the box." This of course isn't a true statement since there is air and space in the box but you get the point. 2. Something is not nothing. Ex. The word "something" is something as opposed to nothing. It can't be nothing precisely because it is present in your experience. Nothing can never be present because it doesn't exist. So, if nothing was happening then you wouldn't be able to read this sentence which you are currently doing even though you may deny it (and yes you just read this part too). Thus, reading (or something) is currently happening which means nothing is not happening. It's inaccurate speech. I now prepare for my locked post. But if it stays open please know your posts mean the world to me. Please show me where I am wrong. Thank you for your time.

If I am nothing then nothing says "I am". If nothing/no-one says "I am" then I am is never said. But since I am is said it must be said by my being which I claim is nether something nor nothing. -

I don't understand how nothing could exist. -

@RMQualtrough Okay I could be totally wrong but it seems that you are saying the subject is the object which I disagree with. If you are saying that there is no subject that seems to be in contradiction to the claim that "knowing knows knowing" which would make knowing both the subject and object right? When you say that knowing knows knowing that is sort of like saying talking talks or walking walks. Knowing is an ability that the knower/consciousness/awareness has. Or I could say knowing is what the subject is doing. Knowing is the coming together of two elements: 1. Knower (subject) and 2. Known (object/experience) In order for there to be knowing both elements must be present. However, the knower is the not the known and the known is not the knower. -

@Nahm What are you trying to convey? What do you mean by a contextualization? -

I think so-called consciousness and things (and thus nothing or the absence of things) are incomparable. As you say we are always aware of things or phenomenon (maybe not in deep sleep). Yet the destruction of the phenomenon does not result in the end of consciousness. So, it seems consciousness still exists without things but things can't exist without consciousness (unless objective reality exists independently of consciousness). "I" refers to an existing non-thing as opposed to a nonexistent nothing in my view. -

Okay so the word nothing refers to nothing? So in a sense it is a meaningless word without the contrast of the word something? Just like the word above is useless without the word below. -
WokeBloke replied to WokeBloke's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Doesn't the very word "nothing" prove that there is not nothing since the word refers to something that that does not exist? -

It's hard to reply to this because this is your interpretation of an experience you had. During your cessation experience would you equate it to being dead? You claim experience completely ends and then restarts as if you have been born. But perhaps it is just experience that temporarily ended and restarted as opposed to you/reality. Perhaps you were still there during the absence of experience just like in deep sleep? -

I don't understand what you mean by "when the duality collapses". How can something be happening and not happening simultaneously? Aren't those two phrases referring to two mutually exclusive events? In other words one can't sit and stand at the same time. -

The word thing is typically used to refer to distinct objects that one is aware of. So I would say things are known by the being or the subject. I do not think being can be classified as either something or nothing. -
What makes something a being? What is the difference between a being and a nonbeing? What does that word refer to? What attributes are required in order for something to be considered a being?

Okay I have a few questions. 1. Why do you equate infinity with nothingness? 2. Why do you think the word "I" is a mechanism of separation? Isn't it just the word that God or infinity uses to express that it exists? 3. What is so special about God denying that it exists? To me that sounds like a delusional God. If only God exists then it is appropriate for God to say "Only I exist". It would be false for God to say "I do not exist". -

Buddhism is God denying that it exists. -
Since you can't tell me what I am seeing you must not be an omniscient God...

And everything is just you're imagination then why can you not create/imagine anything you want to? Please prove to me you are God and generate/imagine something amazing and never before seen into existence. The point is human existence and human innovation/creation requires skill. You can't just do anything you want to. If you are God you are a limited God at best since you can't create a refrigerator out of thin air.

"@WokeBloke If Wokebloke could… and did, right now… literally be a fridge… as a fridge… Wokebloke wouldn’t remember Wokebloke is actually, Wokebloke, because Wokebloke would be being, a fridge. So it is with you and the Wokebloke you appear to be. But but but… if as the fridge, the fridge started meditating & inspecting what it is, the fridge would inevitably discover, it is actually Wokebloke… which firmly believed it was, that there was - “a fridge”. " Like does anyone have any clue what the hell this person is trying to say lmao. This goes for me too lol. I recommend we drop this bullshit and do something useful with our lives.

There is no ego. Just you. And you can't do what I say. That's all I'm saying. -

@The Lucid Dreamer I'm not saying for you to go look at a refrigerator. I'm asking you to generate a new one. Let me get more specific. I want you to generate a 1,000,000 in your hand right now. An all powerful God ought to be able to do that. -
WokeBloke replied to WokeBloke's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
For anyone willing to take a deeper look. We have people identifying as refrigerators. We have people saying they can generate refrigerators out of thin air but they won't (and can't) prove it. The more I read this forum the more it looks like a psych ward. -

to prove that its possible otherwise it's just self deception if you actually believe you can do that.
