It’s beyond the idea of non duality…you don’t wanna be stuck on mind level exactly -

Hahah that’s why I wrote “a little junk”. I haven’t eaten an entire tub in one sitting so I wouldn’t know how I’d feel I have eaten a lot of food and dessert in one sitting though for example I was at a family gathering recently that had a buffet. What happens is that I feel full and bloated but that’s because the stomach stretches and is full of food so it’s fine

Why is it suddenly okay to torture someone when it’s for “a good cause” ? Smh imagine if you was Jesus getting crucified . -

If Jesus was all his life fully identified with the human ego where did he get all his wisdom and preaching from? -

Sincerity moderator wrote under the post about woman being groped by women: “I truly believe the forum should be more strict with what it tolerates - especially the utter bullshitters, those who are here to just fuck around or spout low quality replies, and those who propel drama. But every coin has two sides. Stricter moderation is, I guess, more authoritarian. And everyone has different views on what is noxious to the community. My views will not be aligned with others’. Basically the overall direction of moderation is only up to Leo - and that’s good, since it’s his platform. What’s also an interesting argument against the more authoritarian attitude - and this is not something Leo has said anywhere, but something I was thinking about - is whether a lower-quality user generating a lot of engagement is better than the user not being here. I realize this is complicated and that a lower-quality user can make the higher-quality ones go away, but on the other hand engagement is the pulse of the forum. So for example, take someone who posts a lot, they do have some wisdom and share it sometimes but 98% just fucks around - are they better for the life of the forum or no? Or an utter bullshitter who creates considerable traffic with the threads they create. Better if they are here or no? I think it’s a matter of assessing what choice leads to overall higher quality and engagement. Also, overall, deciding to what degree the quality in the forum should be prioritized over engagement. It might sound controversial and one could say „of course quality should be prioritized 10x more!!!!” but is that really ALWAYS the right choice? Tricky dynamics. What’s important to contemplate is what is best for the overall system. And to be clear: I’m NOT saying that Preety being here was good. I think she wasn’t. I’m saying that moderation is complex, and interesting.” @SchizophoniaDo you think he is thinking of our silly blood pudding talk? Jk we don’t mess around so much…

You are right. We can reach kind of mindless, selfless states through this immersion, but it is to no avail for the average person because they’re not using those states to recognize something beyond their normal state. It’s different from when someone reaches a mindless, selfless state in for example meditation. That is done with intent and one is looking to reach that mindless state and selfless state and lock it down. It’s also devoid of a bunch of stimulation. In the case of stimulation, yes you’re pretty mindless but it’s like the content you’re consuming is doing the thinking instead of your mind, so it’s still a kind of mind activity. The selfless and mindless state from for example meditation is also grounded and rooted as you mentioned. So it’s higher tier. I don’t think one needs a positive sense of self before pursuing non duality. But a grounded and non neurotic one probably helps. Thats only if one desires to pursue non duality. If not, and as long as you’re human with a self, yes it’s a good idea to try to develop a good sense of self, it’s vital in fact as you say -

I’m definitely in that psychotic duality hahahahha😂😂😂 Children are in selfless state right? But have limited experience (sense perceptions)? But if they don’t perceive limitations then isn’t that the full non dual? -

You mean laughter breaks the human ego? To different degrees? -
Sugarcoat replied to Sugarcoat's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
If everything is absence of limits then it means precisely the separate self isn’t real. I’m not talking about simply telling yourself it’s not real, I know that will not make any difference, but just pointing it out. It seems absolutely real to me, that im aware of. Breaking the limits means breaking the structure/form/appearance of self. That sounds absolutely amazing. But isn’t it impossible to perceive unlimited ness? Because a limited perceiver cant see unlimited ness? I know all of this is still on mental level for me. But I like to think about these things so it’s fine. -

This is interesting If sense of self isn’t there, who would be able to recognize “this is the truth”? Are you sure you had zero self there? -

Babies are alive but they aren’t self conscious. I’d say being alive is the same as body being alive, it’s a state of the body. You can be in coma unconscious but still alive. But you KNOW you’re alive because you are conscious and understand the concept of what it means to be alive. A baby might be conscious but not of itself or the concept of being alive so it doesn’t know its alive
