  1. Stress is associated with the self yes our dopamine systems are not adapted for this world for sure
  2. Who knows . You can update us how it goes if you try
  3. I’ve wondered about it too. How the hell this self arises the why and everything
  4. Isn’t it like the ultimate “gave up on yourself” thing to do
  5. 20 isn’t even that old. Will you feel better about yourself after doing that? I bet not
  6. David Goggins seems to me to have a very self centered brain. How that would relate to hardcore exercising might not be obvious but I see it. He is fascinating
  7. I feel many people describe it vaguely . Not saying there is one correct definition or one version of it, can probably mean different things. I’m not afraid of conceptualizing either, it doesn’t hurt anything, I don’t hold onto ideas, no thought is able to exactly grasp at anything anyways. I had one massive shift which I would describe as a permanent dissolution of my mental self/mental reality. It was like my sense of self was permanently detached from my mind. I remember I stood in my kitchen and boom my entire being was released from attachment in the mind and it was permanent. I don’t consider myself enlightened because I have a sense of self still but it’s not a self attached to the mind/mental self. im just sharing this description based on direct experience
  8. That was nicely written. It’s a broad word yea
  9. Yea. There’s maybe different kinds of awakenings. Different levels, or not idk
  10. Depends on if there’s different kinds of awakening , maybe the non dual stuff can’t be explained but even some non dual “teachers” can kind of describe the drop in self. im not saying theres one strict definition, as i said concepts don’t grasp at anything anyways but one can still form an conceptual model in some way
  11. Maybe there is different kinds of awakenings too. So could explain some disagreements.
  12. I was talking about looks so yea I couldn’t quote the next part so I’m just doing it like this instead: “And on the other hand women's evolution has given them many advantages. They intuitively know they don't need to "chase" and they are naturally much more in touch with their bodies. Most men have alot of catching up to do with this.” Women might have easier to find a man but it doesn’t mean the options they have are good or brings satisfaction.
  13. I watched it and what I got from it was that women tend to hide how they compete with each other and be more subtle about it and make it seem like they’re on each others side. So it connects to my post in how they wouldn’t be open about how they try to be a “real woman” (the term real sounds weird but I just mean high status) well he has a point . I’d say tho that this support women can give each other and also this overrating of themselves can also be a way to cope with insecurity because of internalized societal ideals. So simply trying to feel better about themselves rather than some hidden competition
  14. I agree. For me looking good for myself means looking the healthiest too
  15. You can summarize if you want to but I don’t feel like watching the whole video
  16. I thought maybe in the past in the west womanhood was more centered around being a good mother and wife and looks too to a degree but but because of progression those prior mentioned things are less central and shifted more to this hyper sexual culture with looks being number one trait in woman and yes social media is key in that. ofc it’s a trap we have women for example almost killing themselves in eating disorders it’s very serious and women internalize this from society so it’s not sustainable that’s right this topic of beauty in women is interesting to me it might sound shallow but it’s a deep topic actually I wonder how much biology involved too in that it’s not all society ofc
