I guess that you could be 90% pure happiness if you really renounce to the mundane and are open to your nature all time. Happiness is existing without any mental hindrance that prevents the happiness How about physical pain and ailments? Is that suffering different if you’re enlightened or in an enlightened “state” ? Maybe you can’t answer this but I’ve been curious about it -

I still feel like I exist when my mind is quiet, in between thoughts -

I think the self is deeper than thoughts it’s like a energetic sense of I’m here -

I think desire plays a big role too . In my experience it does. But the thing is though that enlightenment is not an object that one can want, that’s the deal so it’s like you’re seeking nothing -

I don’t think I see that so we differ there. If I did then I’m guessing it would be obvious. I’m still stuck in self. I did have that massive shift tho over a year ago I don’t know what that was but it was like new reality opened up as you say. Don’t know what to call it or what to call myself. But I know I’m not at a finish line at least. -
Is that a real fear of yours? i personally believe in reincarnation of some sort, so I could fear bad incarnations. But I don’t believe in hell and a god as the creator it doesn’t make sense at all for me. Don’t think it should for you either. But reincarnation is scary enough for me

I strongly believe there is hope in your situation for improvement even if I don’t know much about what you’re going through. The brain is malleable.

lol right.

You mean if you incarnate into something bad?

Okay I see it’s a cool name yes. I don’t know if there’s degrees of enlightenment maybe it depends on how it’s defined. I feel I can “intuit” that everything is consciousness , that it’s illusion etc non duality and all, but I still have a sense of self as a human. So maybe I’m with you there. okay I see I think I can somewhat understand what you mean about the shift. Don’t know if I can relate to that. But thanks for sharing. -
And not all guys are willing to put in the work for it, so that’s what separates them

I had this thought today that I don’t think suicide is such a big of a deal as it’s made to be. We didn’t chose to be birthed and shouldn’t have to stay alive if we don’t want to. Imagine how much suffering could be ended if it was easier to kill oneself, maybe helped medically. Some cases can be very hopeless for the person, so I think getting help to die should be more accessible. But I’m guessing it’s a controversial opinion.

@Spiritual Warfare you’re looking for satisfactory answers, those are hard to find I’ve noticed.

What you gonna do?

You just opened me up to a new perspective. I knew women were better than men socially and emotionally but not to that degree. I feel those things came naturally to me as a woman as I got less insecure in myself . But then as you say for guys getting rid of insecurity is just first step , it won’t just come naturally after that
-
You’re speaking as if consciousness has a will. I don’t believe it does. Everything exists including horrible things just because it happens to appear for no reason I believe. I can relate to your title though. I’ve been having a hard time lately . Embracing the ugly aspects of life, the suffering is the hardest thing one can do. Many days I just want to die too so I feel you there. What we can do though is to try to create the best out of our situation as best we can

Are you enlightened is that how you know this? That’s why your name is noselfself right. I’m ready to sacrifice my human experience I just feel my “self” structure is maintaining itself and hard to break through. I did though over a year ago have this one massive permanent shift I don’t even know what to call it so I’m a bit confused sometimes like, am I awakened already or not. You always give interesting answers. Could you describe more this shift between source and ego if you want -
I’ve noticed that social superiority too all around me so I agree. I know you speaking of women in general. for me the getting rid of social anxiety opened up for intuitive social calibration but I didn’t know it doesn’t work like that for many guys so that’s an interesting perspective . It’s like that’s the first step then comes work after that
-
Never heard of that before. For me it took years too of dismantling social anxiety , but then it came naturally . So it was some work involved. But I’m not the common case so what u saying still applies probably
-
I think social calibration should come naturally mostly. It’s intuitive, it’s not logical rules although one could maybe create a loose framework based on analyzing experiences. There can be blockages to accessing this natural flow. If you for example are socially anxious, if you have low self esteem, if you’re autistic (sometimes), if you have judgements, it can make you act “stiff” and not in your natural intuitive flow. So by exposing yourself to social situations it forces you to face these blockages and hopefully can dissolve them to access your natural flow. And since people in general are somewhat in tune with this natural flow, it creates a loose definition of social calibration that many agree on collectively. It’s not there for no reason

Yea I agree it’s like neurological too in a way, this sense of self, how closed it is. It’s such a deep structure that maintains itself, and difficult to get out of as you say. But as you say if I am in the absolute sense not separated, there must be a way to “see” this. my mind is closed too. I was thinking if there is something that can be done practically to get out of this, to see the non separatedness, if there’s any correlation between practices and seeing this. As you mention long meditation etc. I will see what I try for myself. I thought there must be something that is “correlated” and can contribute to one “seeing” the truth. Thanks for sharing your experience so I know it’s possible. I remember once a few years ago I did this self inquiry of trying to locate the I. And for one moment it was like I couldn’t locate it, I’m not fully sure but it might have been a “glimpse”. Once again suggesting that there might possibly be a link between practice and “seeing “ this truth. and yes it’s the permanent aspect that seems almost impossible. But what you’re onto is a good start. Opening yourself for brief moments from time to time. It’s something to start with. Maybe I’ll get there one day. i do have experience though of shedding layers of my mind. It’s like this ego has many layers to it, and you can break them down one by one. But after each layer dissolves it feels expansive but then it closes again. and yes suffering is part of life. It’s very difficult to accept this. -

Okay I see your point about pain. i agree about the self created suffering too. It’s like how the mind works it always finds a way to suffer even if circumstances are “good”. in what way do people deny the body and mind aspect of reality? Ofc it can’t be overlooked -
Sugarcoat replied to Sugarcoat's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Depends on the suffering. I just thought if it might teach me something. And make me stronger mentally if I go through it maybe. But that’s just me trying to have a positive attitude. how is pain healthy but the rest not? but yes in general suffering is unhealthy. I agree. Stress contributes to inflammation and all, it’s even unhealthy for the body
