What would it mean to be connected vs being alone in our solipsism? -

That’s a very good question. I have the same experience. That is why I say the self is much deeper than belief. Why do you believe you exist? Because it seems like you do, the belief doesn’t come from nothing it’s based on a deeper sense. The sense of “I’m here the world is out there” . What it is exactly is hard to say. It’s not like other beliefs like Santa Claus or aliens, it’s based on something that is fundamental to your everyday experience. the most fundamental beliefs are “I’m here” and “there is something” I would say. They go hand in hand, if you feel like you exist , then there automatically is a world (something) separate from you . Some non dualists even say when the sense of self disappears, the sense of a separate world does too, that’s why they say “nothing is happening” or “nothingness” -

But then solipsism can’t be true right ? Because it would mean only your pov exists, can’t believe in both simultaneously -
I understand, I used to be like that but not anymore

Why would you assume you’re the only one with experience ? As if reality would be limited to only your pov -

Hahah nah I can say some outlandish things. But you agreed with what I wrote about the self in the first part? -

The way I see it, the self has many layers to it, each layer is like a mental web of beliefs, they add density to the self. One can dissolve layers to oneself, after each one dissolves the self gets thinner, the sense of separation from environment gets thinner. You are both mental constructs, and this energetic sense of I’m here. Kinda, idk , just speaking from experience -

That was well written interesting -
For me I don’t experience it as being related to an ability to dissociate and lose myself in thoughts, but more just having good baseline health I didn’t know that about runners. but I think in general it’s good to push the body hard from time to time ”I don’t take in the ass” lol what you won yea
-
You’re right, it’s crazy how some feel nothing like me (I don’t drink much btw) while others feel an effect that makes them addicted, I wonder why
-
I don’t notice any effect from coffe so I have zero risk of addiction I just drink it for taste sometimes, can’t imagine how one gets addicted to it
-
I’m the same naturally seem to have a pretty good baseline conditioning, I also ran half a marathon after a few sessions It’s good for weightloss but maybe you wanna maintain or gain instead then it’s not the best how would running negatively affect endocrine systems? im gonna start doing some strength training i decided ”staring match with neighbors dogs” lmao that is unheard of

36: I think ultrarunners are highly underrated. If you’ve tried cardio yourself, you know how hard it is, and now imagine running for longer than a marathon, sometimes up to over a day. Running day and night. Hallucinating even. These people put in such hard work, to me it seems harder than any sport I can think of in terms of just the pure effort and suffering they go through. Sure other sports can be more difficult technically. But when it comes to just pure raw effort ultra running wins for me. I’m very impressed by people like David Goggins (although he is a bit too extreme, there’s only one Goggins for a reason) and Courtney Dauwalter who won Moab 240 miles by like ten hours ahead of the second person, Jasmin Paris who was the first woman to finish the Barkley marathon. I’m surprised people like this aren’t more famous, maybe it’s because ultrarunning isn’t an interesting sport to watch like other sports. are you pleased now @Schizophonia
