  1. Many people haven’t even been presented the idea that the self could be “illusion” so it’s hard to say how they would respond to it. More people should hear about it so that they can make a choice whether to pursue enlightenment or not.
  2. You don’t see others and the world in an objective way, you see your own mental projections as an overlay on the world, as a lens, as a judgement of everything , so in that sense you’re living inside your own mind. But your mind is part of the collective mind, so it’s also shared with others, you have similar mental projections like others do. So you are in a sense alone with your mind, your mental projections. Doesn’t mean other people are mental projections, but it acts like an overlay on them, on the “objective” world. Dissolving this means dissolving yourself
  3. What do you mean? Like how your loved ones progress determines yours
  4. I suppose this will be a loooong road. I’m steadily increasing my meditation time. My goal is to eventually do something like 4-5 hours a day. How about you?
  5. I just did that lol😂 I don’t know if I would call that boredom, maybe it is now you say it. It’s so hard to not look at the phone from time to time
  6. I would agree. We are made to interact with the world, I’m just built different.
  7. I didn’t mean you were I like it too when I can talk filter less so that includes being able to talk about deeper things
  8. Yea that’s kind of what I wrote about in another reply. My guess is that they are the boring ones…
  9. I cant be bored because I enjoy my own mind (when I’m more connected to myself and can even hear my thoughts). I’m guessing you and the average person is more outwardly focused so affected by outside circumstance so you derive joy from outward circumstances which is totally normal so you’re bored when something interesting isn’t happening externally that you can involve your mind in
  10. I never understood boredom either. Pretty much never felt it
  11. The kind of love that is truth is not the conventional love, it’s unconditional and includes even the untruthfulness. Intuitively
  12. It’s one thing to talk about these thing, another to become directly conscious of how everything is the same substance, that’s my goal
  13. It’s one thing to talk about these thing, another to become directly conscious of how everything is the same substance, that’s my goal
  14. If everything is the same substance, and is the same as nothing, then no material is needed for nothing to exist
  15. I think it might be easier to replace old habits with new ones instead of simply stopping old habits. Start smaller and increase steadily. Sit down and think and perhaps write down what you wanna do with your life, what habits you want to install to replace the old ones. You don’t have to quit the old habits cold turkey, you could just decrease them steadily as you replace them with new habits. Meditation for example could help put you in a clearer state from which it’s easier to deal with urges
  16. I will check the video out. Thanks. I’m building it up. Today I did it quite scattered. 20 min then break , 20 min again then an hour .
  17. It’s very tempting to look at the timer I know that feeling exactly. It’s a challenge to not do it or move around
  18. Okay I see what you mean there. It’s like if someone plays video game and is fully concentrated and immersed into it that they don’t sense themselves anymore ok . I’m steadily increasing the time of my sittings.
  19. Your mind is supposed to work for you not against you. You have too much negative rumination about yourself going on. Keep up the work with the books about emotional mastery that could probably help, but reframe it in your mind. Don’t see it as something “wrong” with you that needs fixing, that you’re not “good enough” but still acknowledge the problems you have. You have narrowed down your interests, that is a first step. Making it into career isn’t easy it takes a lot of work. So don’t beat yourself up over it. There’s plenty of room for improvement.
