  1. Presence. Deep breathing. Relaxing the body. Reducing stress, neurosis. All those things can make your system need less energy to work (a more stressed state takes more energy for example) .
  2. Do you hold the idea that suffering in general is self created? Depending on how that is interpreted will decide wether I agree or not. For example if there was no sense of self present, would there be suffering? I don't know because Ive not been without a self, but if no, then you could say suffering is SELF created as in being a byproduct of there being a sense of self present. But that to me is not the same as it being created by the individual, if that makes sense. So if someone experiences pain in the body, it's experienced as suffering because they are a self relating to the pain. But it's not the byproduct of the mental activity. Their mind saying "ouch this sucks" is not causing the suffering, the suffering is experienced as the pain located in the body, and as long as there is a sense of self present there will be that experience of pain as suffering. Meaning they would have to eradicate their sense of self to stop experiencing pain as suffering (or develop some ultra advanced mindfulness skills, if that is possible, im open to that, and your suggested exercise might be a first step to that ) In the case of mental suffering its a different story. This would be a kind of self inquiry of some sort
  3. That’s you facing a truth.
  4. The fact you’re aware of your own process of potentially radicalizing and show fear around it is for me something that is going to lower the risk for you to become radicalized. So that’s a good thing. One tips I could give is to practice “zooming out” so looking at the world from a bigger more global perspective. Zooming out and thus seeing how what occurred to you is within a minority. Yes there are women who cheat but are they the majority? Yes there are black people that attack but are they the majority? And trying to have an objective view . What factors could have potentially led to those events? Maybe more black people are under poor socioeconomic circumstances due to history so the risk of criminality is higher? And being mindful of the content one consumes that can shape one’s world view. And also not dismissing one’s feeling, it is natural to sometimes feel a little prejudice towards certain groups because of things that have happened. To not suppress those feelings because that could potentially cause more trouble for oneself. But to acknowledge it as a natural reaction but then placing it into a more “zoomed out” and larger perspective again.

  6. Maybe there’s ultimately no control but it still seems there is some control when you have a self so in that case try to control things as far as you can in your favor.
  7. I don’t want anything in particular with this thread. But I do kinda know what I want with what I’m going through. Fair suggestions
  8. I wonder how a proper fully plant based diet compares to a plant dominant but omnivorous diet (which is what I’m trying to do) in terms of getting all the nutrients etc I have thought of buying plant protein like ground soy protein as a replacement for minced meat too so I understand . Olive oil which I use the most seems healthy to me. But maybe those things you mentioned are even healthier. I incorporate both too. Cool suggestion. I’ll look it up. Yea exactly. And I’d miss the fat. Btw I saw you’re from Sweden too. Hi👋🏻
  9. Yes they just come out of nowhere. Crazy how the brain works.
  10. Thoughts can feel like a choice though so that’s the sticky illusion
  11. Thanks Sorry youre going through that. But hey according to the Tao guy pain isn’t suffering so if we could just somehow stop suffering the pain😹 Suicidal thoughts are like a cope. I remember having at least once suicidal thoughts when younger but nothing serious . Now it’s more serious It can be weirdly comforting to think of suicide. But I try to maintain a strong mindset as I said and it works sometimes.
  12. I wasn’t sure which subforum to put this in but I figured this would be most suitable. It’s not important for me to know this but it just makes me curious. In my life I’ve had probably upwards of 100 episodes of sleep paralysis. There was a period a few years ago where I would have it really often. And recently I’ve had it too very often. For example this morning was crazy, I had maybe upwards of 5 separate sleep paralysis episodes, with astral projection several times and hallucinations. I can also get intense vibrations, feeling like energy shooting up my head etc. Once my head convulsed. I wanna point out that I don’t find sleep paralysis scary, I have maybe been scared twice or something in my life because of it. I don’t get scary hallucinations, I find it somewhat fun to explore it especially astral projection. I also don’t have too irregular sleep patterns. I can sleep for a long time if I don’t work for the day, so maybe that’s a factor. I don’t have problems falling asleep. Once a guy told me if you get a lot of sleep paralysis it can mean you have an “old soul”. I haven’t found any additional info about that. Feel free to share if you’ve had similar experiences.
  13. I’ve seen street lamps go on or off a few times but haven’t payed attention to it
  14. I like to have it so I don’t wish for it to go away. But that’s good it went away for you if you don’t wanna have it. I find the hallucinations reflect one’s inner state so if you’re calm like me you won’t see scary stuff The first are usually the scariest
  15. Damn a few hundred times. I can have it multiple times a night too.
  16. I work with children so I eat lunch with them then I eat whatever is served. Other than that I rarely eat meat only chicken sometimes and the other animal products sometimes but I wanna eat more plant based meals. Why you prefer vegetarian? You mean then eating only dairy and eggs of the animal products? Some pleasure is import I think too, otherwise you won’t look forward to any meal. And oil and salt isn’t necessarily unhealthy so we can have both health and taste. Thansk I’ll look that site up . I’ve not heard of it before.
  17. Ok I see how that could play a part.
  18. Science says a more plant dominant diet is good so it’s good it inspired you to eat more veggies. Im also gonna eat more veggies. I still like to include animal products though . Ive heard of eating raw before , there’s this diet raw to 4 where you eat raw food (vegan) until dinner, there’s creators say it’s better for digestion etc I don’t know though. I love oil and salt too much to give it up😹 I need oil on all my salads😹
  19. Makes sense Ok. In my case I don’t think it’s the chemicals in my enviroment. I don’t really experience bad symptoms. I live in Sweden too and I think Europe has a little more regulations around things
  20. If one enjoys these strange states. Wouldn’t inhaling certain chemicals potentially be a positive thing if it can contribute in inducing those states? Or maybe it’s just bad for health… maybe I sound dumb lol Also I couldn’t find upon a quick search what you said online, where did you get that info from?
  21. I know I can look this up, but I figured since you started a thread about it I could ask you. Would you like to summarize what this nutritarian diet is? What does one eat? I think very few people would like to eat mostly leafy greens. And also does this chart look at nutrients in general ? Because maybe some plants have a lot of certain nutrients but then less of others, so if you’d consume mostly the most nutrient dense plants you’d still miss out on some other nutrients
