Matthew85 replied to Daniel347's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Daniel347 I have found my dreams to be very insightful. I keep a journal by my bed and often write them down. They can offer insight into limiting beliefs you may have about yourself or the world you are not conscious of. Dreams can communicate health issues in your body you are not aware of. I find them valuable in many ways. Look into the work of Carl Jung. You might find it interesting. -
@Zigzag Idiot Yes, I am very grateful to have been able to spend time with him before he left this world. I still revisit his teachings and continue to discover deeper understanding.

Matthew85 replied to Gianna's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Gianna All of us have dominant states of being. What are the emotional states you most often find yourself occupying? What are your frequent habitual moods? This is important to monitor. Every state we occupy is creating. You want as much as possible occupy a state that matches what you want to experience in your life. Lets use the example of a romantic partner since that is a very common desire. Someone is desiring to be in a loving, supportive, harmonious relationship. But if they are often in a state of feeling lonely, unloved or unsupported, that is not in alignment with having a loving supportive partner. Does that make sense? -
Matthew85 replied to Roy's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Roy Yes, I have had the same experience many times. As my awareness expands I am able to derive more enjoyment and pleasure from everything in life. I also find deeper and deeper meaning that I didn't perceive before. It is a fascinating experience. -

@Gili Trawangan You are your point of attraction. You can't separate your internal reality from the external. The separation is an illusion. -
Matthew85 replied to Gianna's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Gianna I have experienced this many times. It is an ongoing process. I know I have shifted by a couple things. My emotional reactions to circumstances that present themselves. When my reaction is different from the old pattern, I know I have shifted. Also by observing the dominate state I find myself in. We all have habitual states we are in. When your habitual dominant state changes, what shows up in your life starts to change. -
@Gianna Hmm. Have you ever tried keeping a food journal? There are so many things we consume that can affect our mood. For instance dairy depresses my mood for some reason. I have found keeping a journal very helpful at identifying what is affecting me.

@Gianna Coffee affects the neurotransmitters in the brain. Initially my mood declined some, but after a few weeks I felt better than when I was drinking it regularly. You need to give your body time to detox from it. Did you try stopping for a few weeks?

@AdamR95 Bingo! Excellent insight! Consciousness or god wants to explore it all. Thank you for sharing! -
@John Paul Or could a girlfriend assist you in mastery? Something to contemplate. It's far easier to be centered and at peace alone in the mountains. But can you maintain that state while in rush hour traffic or while visiting with your family members? Relationships are excellent teachers.

@TottiWatts Pescatarian diet works well for me. Once I cut out meat, dairy and processed foods I felt so much better. Adding a lot more raw veggies and fruits always helps my energy levels. You have to experiment with different diets. Everyone's body is different. Test a variety of foods and diets out. Your body will always tell you. Pay attention to how you feel after you eat certain foods or consume certain beverages. You can dramatically change the way you feel mentally and physically by modifying your diet. It's is vital to feeling your best.

You need to find a physical activity that you enjoy doing. It could be sports or something else. I love surfing, body boarding and hiking. So, try some different activities out. Once you find one you like, it will be easy to stay consistent. You will look forward to doing it.

Matthew85 replied to Sonny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Sonny No one can answer this for you. It is something you have to discover through your own direct experience. Other people can only offer their perspective. If you are feeling fear, you haven't reached the truth. Keep contemplating and exploring. -
@Gianna I think it's an individual thing. Everyone's chemistry is different. When I gave up caffeine I felt better in many ways. Test it out and see if you feel better without it.

Any negative judgment's you put on sense pleasures is you doing it, not god. God loves it all equally. -
Matthew85 replied to Sonny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Sonny In my experience fear and truth cannot coexist. Fear is always an indication of not seeing truth. Spend some time deeply contemplating the nature of god being "Infinite". -
Matthew85 replied to Sonny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I feel you are not seeing and understanding the infinite nature of god. If you are feeling scared, that is an indication your mind is distorting or misinterpreting the experience. When you get to the truth it will never feel like that. -
Matthew85 replied to Sonny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Sonny My direct experience of this is so far the opposite of aloneness it would be challenging to find words to articulate it. Perhaps it would help you to explore and contemplate the true nature of god more deeply. -
Matthew85 replied to Thought Art's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Why would someone sign up to be on a show like Naked and Afraid? Because consciousness, you or god loves to create puzzles to solve and challenges to overcome. Life is a game. You have to learn to not take it all so seriously. -
Matthew85 replied to Gabith's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Gabith In my experience, the more I seek truth, the more I find love. The choice of how deep or shallow you choose to explore it is up to you. -
@Alfonsoo As your awareness expands you will have a keener intuition to help you discern truth. I have much less interest in television and films than I had in the past. I can still enjoy it as entertainment though. You can find nuggets of wisdom and truth in mainstream media. I wouldn't try to squeeze a lot of self-actualization value out of it though. Just enjoy it for what it is.

Congratulation's! The universe is interesting in that way. Whatever you focus on and look for, you will find more of. -
Matthew85 replied to Javfly33's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Javfly33 There is no should or shouldn't. You can choose to explore anything you wish. But, I would suggest you wanted the richness and diversity of experiences a human life can provide, or you wouldn't have created it. -
Matthew85 replied to Raptorsin7's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Raptorsin7 I don't think there is an end. It seems to be an eternal journey of exploration. My focus recently is more on integrating the insights into day to day life. Yes, I have accessed a lot of memories. What were the main blocks? I would say fear. Once you start to see through the illusion of all your fears, life really starts to transform.
