  1. Watch Seaspiracy documentary on Netflix. We need to first stop eating fish and all sea foods, first. It's raping the planet from the inside out in more ways than you thought. Highly recommend watching this.
  2. If it is so big, then do not resist. Give up and maybe join the movement. You are not making any difference anyway. On the other hand, isn't your whole life about understanding stuff, and you do not want to understand the populism that is making the biggest changes in the global political landscape?? Seems a little uncharacteristic of you.
  3. Do you empathize with why the waves of populism occur in the first place? Pretty much my thoughts.
  4. I never said that both sides are equally wrong or right. I am saying we need to listen to either sides. How can you discern right and wrong when you are not even willing to listen to the other side? oh yea sure nice joke.
  5. What do you think could solve the issues? I don't think anything will at this point, least of all Trump. Better to have dialogue anyway. It's still important for the general public to be informed regarding all perspectives. Talks should be happening. It sends a different message.
  6. Nah Lex actually walks the talk. He is the true champion of free speech. Being accommodating and accepting of literally all sides. What I thought Rogan would have done. Your issue is that anyone isn't a full blown western shill has to be a Russian propagandist. This is not what Lex is about. He is a much needed figure of free speech so that people can actually decide for thems after listening to the two sides. Anti establishment figures are needed like the Tucker interview with Putin. But Tucker would never interview Zelenskyy. Hence he isn't onboard free speech. Interviewers being a little naive is good. It allows for the other side to think both are on the same side and hence we get to see more thoughts from them.
  7. They are fed up with 9 years of liberal stupidity already. It's suffocating for humans to live there.
  8. This is tough. Neoliberal shock therapy was a failure in Ukraine, Russia and many Eastern European states. But so as socialism. Shock therapy will not work in large States who has a history of centralised control. What do you refer to existing socialist systems? Is it Scandinavian style or USSR style socialism? USSR style socialism was effectively giving women more rights amd freedom to work atleast in its initial stages. But to me it feels so contrived and inorganic since they were an an abso failure in sustainin the larger economy. Scandinavian style social democracy is more of an offshoot of capitalism than actual socialism.
  9. Joe Rogan fumbled his lead so bad for politics. Lex is about to interview Putin and Zelenskyy again now at the pivotal time of the war.
  10. Totally agree that opening theory ruins chess. But hey I don't like change.
  11. I agree that's it's average or good enough, if that's what you are looking for. But I have extremely high standards for rigor.
  12. @SwiftQuill DEI is real and it will take away your chances. Life is unfortunately not a positive sum/abundance game. It is a zero-sum game, more often than not. You need massive luck and strive for creating a blue ocean. The only real solution is to go out there and carve out your own path. The collective prioritization of DEI, getting more minorities into college etc will degrade the quality of these institutions over the long run. It is already happening. Wokes do not get the value of exclusivity. Excluding dumbfucks and retards and doing it extremely well is what made these institutions great in the first place. It means that anyone who got in knew their shit and you could count on them to do so. But right now, including lesser qualified people who were *oppressed for millions of years* will result in lower standards which took a lot of work over long time to build in the first place. I do not mean to say to completely eliminate the DEI, but that has to come from a grassroots level to supplement actually disadvantaged kids instead of superficial metrics like they do today. I do not disagree with the whole idea of DEI, but they way they go about implementing is a total mess. And anyone who complains about it is a total villain. Yeah the whole atmosphere in academia is stifling to anyone who is interested in doing actual research and actual work. I would not spend a moment in it anymore. Not worth it. It is too feminized and stunted and it looks like it is only getting worse. All these great institutions are built on values which they suddenly no longer care about.
  13. 2300 is superb rating. But it is true that you see a new world with +300 increase. Imagine the world that Stockfish or Alpha zero sees. Those might have ratings of 5000+. @Leo Gura Have you ever played classical? I am getting a mental breakdown even looking at your fischer random games. I just don't have the operating principles to play it. Plus, you are not supposed to memorize openings anyway in classical. Just play and see what comes out of it.
  14. You don't need a new app for that. There is a feature for tournament organisation with all popular chess apps chess.com lichess etc.
  15. The israel envoy to Turkey alluded to something similar. Boris did sabotage the negotiations.@zazen
  16. I used to regularly play in real life international fide tournaments. No fide rating yet although I have beat 1500s in unrated tournaments, so that doesn't increase my rating. ~1700 on lichess that might translate to 1200-1300 in elo rating. Online ratings are a poor indicator of your actual playing strength since they all use different equations and metrics to arrive at the numbers. I can relate to Leo that consciousness work has led to me finding new broader patterns and new ways of thinking and even allow me to transfer insights from other domains onto new ones. The whole feel is different. And when I used to grind chess in teenage, it used to exhaust myself. Now I am more at ease being able to savour it more.
  17. Unfortunately China is also heading in the same direction. Back then there were several factions within the communist party all of which has to be catered to. And the dynamics of the society and political climate that led to explosive growth is no more. Xi Jinping is going full on dictator mode and they only care about the CCP, not China nor the people of China. China did their best to learn from the USSR but they are treading a thin line now. The decisions they make in the next 4 years are going to make or break them.
  18. The essence of the democratic party is corporatism with some social justice stuff. They just manage to mask it well than the republicans who are unabashed and outright greedy that even makes corporations not associate them for reputations sake. Which is why a lot of the wokeism you see today are not even proper stage green. They are stage orange trying to save their face. So even Amazon and their billionaire execs side with democrats since even the extra advantage you get from siding with the republicans would be offset by their damaging reputation. What do you lose by pacifying the masses by brainwashing them into thinking the billionaires are on their side? But overplaying the social justice thing is futile since you are not for social justice. You are a corporate goon.
  19. These are just brothers fighting and killing each other. Breaks my heart to see. Thanks for posting.
  20. Soviet style communism had too much corruption and lies that it crumbled from it's own weight. I don't think anyone really defends it and the world has come to accept this reality. But I would like to have seen happening is a genuine reform from the inside out of USSR that could have saved it from dissolution. But Chernobyl disaster and Afghanistan quagmire in the midst of failing economy was the nail in the coffin for the great USSR. After the USSR collapse, Russian citizens got what is not a fully capitalist neoliberal system nor a centralised communist system but something that is neither but is not as good as either. They got trapped in a limbo. They had genuinely good stuff that we never got to see. Perhaps their collective was too underdeveloped and had poor vision and understanding of human nature.
  21. Do you know that Indian American women out earn white men in the US?
  22. I need to learn Russian to understand the mind of Putin and their way of life. Everything is so mysterious and dark about Eastern Europe/Russia. So much has happened over there, and still is.
  23. Only for one Russian teenager to come with a jammer technology to render the whole "army" useless. Over reliance on tech for will have more than one ways to backfire hard.
  24. These pictures have little significance given the total control of the media ecosystem by western NGOs. Is it that simple of a narrative? After the evil Assad sun set, the Jolani sunrise and here are the times of peace and prosperity. This is too much of a contrived and propped up narrative.
