@Magnanimous A good place to start is to wish positive outcomes on those around you. ie practice positivity in a detached way first. This will spill over into your own life.

@emvipi Look into the devotional rituals done in Hindu tradition, they have been shown to be quite effective in the type of prayer you mentioned.

@teraflu Your sensitivity is a gift, not a weakness. There are plenty of jobs with a chilled out environment. Librarian, florist, working at the zoo etc.

We can cultivate a practice of allowing all outbursts to simply happen within the mind. In the inner world there is freedom to say whatever i want without any judgement. But if i call someone a cu** to their face there will be consequences.

@Vynce Psychological suffering linked to the suffering of others, could be based on some subtle aspect of self which is still seeking happiness in it's environment. When i am fully rooted in Self as only source of happiness, my only job is to radiate Goodness wherever i go, and that is enough. A good question to ask is: what precise meaning do i give to the suffering of others, and how does that constructed meaning color my own sense of self.

The deeper one peers into this without any sense of guilt, the more it becomes a gateway to selflessness and compassion. Kinda cool how God disguised himself as seemingly ungodly aspects of ego.
