You right, I can't say that as a fact, just my intuition.
-
Then what makes you so certain that it actually happened ?
-
You saying he went Maga to prepare for a potential rape case ? I think he just fell into it like loads of other delusional people.
-
I agree that he was extreme, but actual rape still needs to be proved.
-
Truth is, none of us really know what happened. That means - innocent until proven guilty.
-
I think you're right, they don't have jury over there. But I do have a feeling you guys are slightly biased. If he wasn't Maga, you'd be slightly more neutral in this case.
-
Okay I hear you guys. I'm still going to say innocent until proven guilty. Brand can thank his lucky stars you guys wont be sitting in the jury.
-
I'm not saying it's impossible. He just don't strike me as the type to force himself on a woman who said no. His politics might be deluded, but he's still a sensitive/empathic guy.
-
How so ?
-
It dont make it likely at all. Wont be the first time that false claims have been made in such matters
-
If the claim is false then it cant be rape can it
-
If Brand fell into the category of men who rape because they like to rape, he would have been in prison long time ago. Anyway, lets see what happens in court. I just don't see him as the type.
-
What do the body language experts say ? Definitely not a fan of the Maga version of Brand. But in this case I feel he is innocent. Guy had more game back in the day than most. And there's still something sincere about him, even if he's misguided right now.
-
Interesting. So if he's guilty, then fair enough. But if this a false claim, im just wondering what kind of grudge someone was carrying for 20 years to finally take revenge like this.
-
Brand was an extreme player, not a rapist. How do you even go about proving something like that more than 20 years later ?
-
Lets not get too technical, healing one's wounds is part of the process of deconstructing the mind and waking up. It all requires new perception.
-
Relationship is obviously also about awakening. In a marriage for example there is no where to hide. You either face and heal your stuff, or the marriage will become dysfunctional and end.
-
Why have biological immortality as a goal ? That sounds more like a nightmare than utopia.
-
But in the bigger picture, is it not true that consciousness is interested in waking up to more of itself. So there's also a deeper form of evolution going on.
-
What if the sense of incompattibility in the way that women and men have been designed, was actually intelligently done so in a way to ultimately lead to ego dissolution of both parties in a relationship.
-
What is an example of "manipulated into right feelings" ?
-
I would only use an external interface for very brief moments, for example if there is something super abstract in my imagination that I would like to express in a more concrete way. I feel that too much of that brain interfacing type stuff will have negative side effects for the consciousness work we are doing here. (you can get exactly the same answers from an external AI, ie who cares about a few seconds delay if you can keep your brain safe and healthy.)

@integral So at least we agree that there is a potential solution for mass poverty. I think the model in that video is a bit rigid and does not take into account the tremendous benefits in abundance that AI could bring about once it gets going properly. I'm not sure when this will be, but I feel that at some point AI generated abundance will become so prolific that the whole concept of wealth and competition will become slightly redundant. After universal basic income is accepted, the next logical progression will be universal high income. Once everyone has the time and means to do their art, consciousness work, go travelling etc - what more do we really want then from the few who are in power ? And I say it is a bit rigid, because it assumes that the people who are in power will always be psychopaths or halfwits. I really do feel there will come a time when people who have a bit more integrity will also be elected to real positions of power. Otherwise someone like Sanders wouldn't even exist in the first place. (And paradoxically all the suffering that will be caused by the Trump presidency, might just lead to exactly that kind of political miracle in the not too distant future.)
-
@integral I just watched that video. It sure paints a bleak picture. But I get it, these are the harsh realities of the survival of power. And I understand your North Korean example. But what about a country like Norway. Lets say that tomorrow AI goes into full swing and most of the people lose their jobs there. Do you really think a reasonably civilized country like Norway would just let most of its citizens starve ? And what if at some point someone like Bernie Sanders gets into power. (Which is not impossible, because there's probably going to be a big backlash after the current presidency is done.) Surely it's possible for someone like Sanders to do something from the goodness of his heart, or just from a place of common sense at least. ps if the US government allowed most of it's citizens to starve there would definitely be some kind of a revolution, and probably a revolt in the army itself. Because people in the army have family and friends who are not in the army. Ultimately I feel it would be less of a hassle for the rulers of a country like the US to at least just give its population a universal basic income. Especially when AI developments eventually make it easy to afford.

The reasons would include: avoiding loads of Luigi type assassination attempts, stepping over starving people every time they leave the house, pitchforks and mass riots everywhere, basically not to be surrounded by a mad max environment when stepping outside at all. And to still keep some kind of a gene pool going. Otherwise there'd be no one left to worship them. They wouldn't like that. What would a king be without anyone to rule over ?
