  1. I’m not a Christian nor planning to be one, but I am reading the holy bible to understand different perspectives and to really understand how this book influenced the pillars of western civilization. So far I’m at genesis 4, when Cain kills Abel, but I was confused about the previous chapter. The serpent encourages Eve to eat the fruit in the center of the garden, as this will allow her and Adam to have the knowledge and wisdom of god himself. The issue is when god finds out, the serpent, eve and Adam are all cursed. Why would god curse humans for increasing consciousness and becoming god realized? Isn’t that the goal? This fruit even helps Adam and Eve become conscious of the fact that they are naked. If this fruit symbolizes humanity’s path and evolution towards higher levels of consciousness and wisdom, why would god punish Adam and Eve, and why is it “forbidden”? In many eastern religions like Buddhism and Hinduism, the whole goal is to become actualized of True Self, which is god consciousness. But this is the first religious text I came across where the “Lord God” actively discourages this. Am I reading into this too much, will I find out as a read more? Anyone who has studied Christianity for years, I would definitely love to hear your interpretation of this!
  2. There was a tree in the center of the garden from which god said not to eat the fruit. Eve eats a little and shares it with Adam, from the encouragement of the serpent.
  3. It’s all Christian nationalism. The white Protestant nativist underbelly of America came back to life, and it’s just presenting itself in the worst form. I genuinely do think that the right wing of the US, UK, Australia and Canada genuinely miss having a sense of “Anglo” dominance over the world, and it just so happens that in this day and age the heart of the Anglo empire is in America. Like the British empire, these nationalists want to bring back the racist policies of the past and enact them worldwide. The reason why they tout Israel is because Israel is a colonial client state of the US and UK, keeping an overwatch on all the other middle eastern countries. It’s dominance. Most of these far right guys would love to see trump establish more bases throughout the global south, and do anything to hinder the development of these nations, as it threatens the “anglo American” supremacy over the world. That’s the reason why these same conservatives are genuinely terrified of china, as china’s rapid development directly conflicts with western dominance. In other words, it’s a nostalgia for a time when there was direct imperial dominance over many parts of the world. These guys say they are isolationist, but in reality they cream themselves over the idea of another war.
  4. Yeah, but there was always a sense of decorum in mainstream republican politics before trump. Yeah bush was horrible as a president, but honestly Bush feels so much more moderate when comparing with trump and his cabinet.
  5. The amount of Islamophobia that we see after he won the nyc mayoral race is really bad. It’s basically post 9/11 style Islamophobia and racism. The right wing is literally going to a new low, and at this point we have to hope that most Americans vote for what’s best for the country in the coming midterms.
  6. A lot of Americans are just straight ignorant bro. They watch Fox News and see “oh no brown and black people ruining our country, we need to stop this!” That’s what it essentially comes down to.
  7. It’s actually crazy that some random enlightened being who 5 years ago was just another “godman” to now one of the most influential people on the globe! Either two things that’s really going on: 1). This guy is the greatest conman alive and is now selling books and making money through a spiritual fantasy, or 2). This guy is the messiah that Christians talk about who is going to save us from hell. Truly fascinating.
  8. I think in the same way western cultures revolutionized material science in the enlightenment era, ancient India revolutionized the spiritual sciences, or the science of the consciousness (but not discrediting the ancient Greeks/romans and Egyptians)
  9. Hinduism is more programmed for the spiritual way of life American culture is wayyyy too materialistic to put out enlightenment beings on the same level the east does.
  10. I feel like he’s genuinely the only real influencer who is tryna bring the world into the tier 2 stages
  11. Damn…just damn, that’s all I have to say. Wouldn’t want to say anything to offend our overlords….
  12. In an alternate universe if Russia and Ukraine were nato nations: Kyiv, Moscow and St Pete’s
  13. I think he didn’t mean that. He just meant not burning cars and waiving Mexican and Palestinian flags, it gives the right more power.
  14. Sad thing is he comes from a Jewish family with holocaust survivors in his family. Many white nationalists would deny the holocaust and blame the core of global issues on the Jews.
  15. Yeah, it’s one thing if it’s completely to eliminate illegal immigration….its another to deny asylum for afghan and Syrian refugees who had helped the war effort while at the same time allow white South African “refugees” from a debunked “white genocide”. It’s very clearly racial, and there has to be a limit to all of this. Look I understand the concern of large portions of migrants being military aged men, and I fully understand the concern and worry of the average middle American. But to demonize people who helped our soldiers abroad in the war effort, and then completely deny their asylum status is disingenuous. @Leo Gura you gotta admit that even from a stage orange point of view, there are racial tones to this immigration policy. If we are concerned about illegals, why are we only targeting black and brown migrants, but not white migrants (whom there are many). To me it seems a little fishy….
  16. I think what we are going through right now is a cold civil war, war of ideas, influence and digital exposure. Just how the republican media machine makes use of its optics, the democratic media machine has to do the same. This includes the protests as well. Not the best optics if you are burning the streets, throwing up gang signs and raising the Mexican flag. We need to boost social capital on our side, and show the average joe that we are all Americans fighting for our rights to live peacefully and not in fear of trump’s selfish motives.
  17. Damn, I guess best thing is to put our heads down, focus on our life purpose without getting swayed by social media activism, and vote the right people for our best interests.
  18. Off of the point of due process, isn’t the whole point not to arrest someone without knowing they whether or not they are in the country legally? How can we determine if someone is here illegally, and not hear on asylum in the process of gaining citizenship, the legal way…..without due process?
  19. It’s shit like this that helps feed the far right. Yeah we can argue that the rise of radical Islamist terrorism is directly related neo liberal policies in the Middle East, but Muslim activists should immediately tell the world that they CONDEMN this attack. If the first thing that comes out of their mouth is “free Palestine”, you basically gave a golden ticket to racist, far right parties in the west that capitalize on the fears that citizens may have. This is the time to fight Islamophobia with compassion and sympathy for the victims, not radical activism. Btw not anti free Palestine, just someone who looks at the world practically and yearn to find practical solutions for the now.
  20. As someone with family in India, I can sympathize with the pro Israel side.
  21. Oh no….when do they choose the next one?
  22. To be fair, the USA has a long history of pretty shady practices. Look up the bracero program. As part of it, legal Mexican Americans were deported to Mexico, on the basis of being Mexican.
