  1. @Meditationdude Haha, thanks for the perspective. I mean yeah maybe for some jobs I should not be overly minded with these ideals of creativity, especially with manual labour and sales. bring it down to earth you know. but truth be told I am looking for a job for finances are in a sham, and I'm of the age to earn and move out. @Hello from Russia Thank you for this. I've sabotaged myself for the longest time by not making time to prepare a portfolio. what do you mean by brute force it? Just keep applying for graphic jobs till they can't deny me?
  2. @Wilhelm44 The cost and its culture have negatively affected me because it is not for everyone, especially the ivy league type. I was not focused that much, and the guilt of eating up my parents money on some informations and skills i can learn for myself finally reached a tipping point. They are too glorified, especially here in SA. When only a number of the people get what they want out of it.
  3. I have had that inclination/ feeling too. although at times it has more responsibility to hold accountable for critical thinking more than uni would. What i run into is my own sense of understanding and its not always that accurate as I'd like to imagine it would be. so I have to work hard to teach myself
  4. Hey there to the community at large. I am an avid subscriber to Actualized since High School, age 15/16. I am 23 now. having started with practical advice on Leo's channel, I became rather intrigued when he came with advanced teachings such as enlightenment. As we all know many people face cognitive dissonance( the feeling of conflicting ideas and approaches to learning and understanding reality) when it comes to such topics, and may others that he shares like Psychedelics. I have wrestled with some of my own at times, especially when it comes to conforming in a society such as mine, South African. Yesterday I came across the Youtuber D'Angelo Wallace. a young person just like myself, criticizing the channel to be a cult of sorts. He makes a few rounds through trolling 'controversial people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxI61rB2N5g&t=282s I talked about this with my brother, 17 going to 18, and he judged it on the basis of Leo advocating drugs for enlightenment, 5 meo DMT, which is so out of the context of the big picture understanding of the teachings. He listened to the sound bites and ran with what this Youtuber gave him. But I digress. It sort of hurt me to see that he is sinking into that line of propaganda, and also not being able to be open-minded about the nature of psychedelics. I understand that he might be coming from a limited perspective. I go on like this to say it triggers a sense of not belonging, it started with my parents some years ago, and it feels like my brother is in that line of thinking this type of information coming from him is not acceptable. My identity feels defensive and harmed because I believe his work has helped me and also having verified direct experiences for myself How have the rest of you dealt with the experience of people not being open to Actualized? especially with close people?
  5. Hey there forum members. I am 23 years old, and looking for resources on business, particularly for an artistic mind. I went to the library to get books on personal finances as I have flunked on them for a number of years, and even now sitting on an overdraft, and I am committed to making changes in that area. i did some freelancing graphic design last year, and other projects to finish by the end of this month or the next.
  6. @kag101 Thank you for the advice. I have the same history with recreational drugs such as weed. It has been half a year or since I last was into it. It might not be classified as a psychedelic, I can resonate with being to excessive about enlightenment, recreation and so forth.
  7. @Tech36363 I am watching the Cult Psychology series and in that way, the proof we're looking for is to cement our own understanding and grew it in what Leo says he in the videos. It is a self-deception to not admit our cult like tendancies
  8. @soos_mite_ah Noted man, especially with the last few sentences. @Leo Gura the dynamics of that reality is a tough pill to swallow. I must not complain though. Slowly recognizing the impact of the dynamic and its consequences and potential is motivation enough. @Nahm change my attention hey. The more I tried the more it angered me at the time @SuicidalBug Loving the hippie vibes you're sending out @ZenSwift Man I will look into the lesser Jihad, thanks for the encouragement and insight. @John Paul Interesting way to go about it. Thanks for the advice
  9. Noted Roy. Thanks I'm learning that slowly
  10. @Loving Radiance Man timing is everything. It is no obligation to spread it. I must first and foremost do the work before i can just want to share the messages like a Jehovah's Witness.. Great Point! It's baffling to see, but humbling to know you can grow from that if you really want to.
  11. @Thought Art I appreciate the advice on authority. I introspected and saw that I actually might be manipulative for trying to insist he give the channel a try, perpetuating cult-like tendencies within me. Lol currently informing myself on the Cult psychology series, and I have realized my own deceptions. I should laugh lmao your description though @RendHeaven
  12. @NoSelfSelf Yeah. It is not easy and fairly sad that others are missing out on valuable work like this
