Tai Lopez' garage seems pretty legit to me

Pick the two most random things you can come up with in a flash. Now flip a coin, heads you become a clown for a traveling circus, tails you become a stunt driver for the movies. Let fate decide.

Like some wise philosophers in the past used to say: F*ck Tha Police. I don't know what it's about but I'd grab a stick and whack that guy in the head. Middle men make things too complicated.

Totally useless. Self inquiry isn't about convincing yourself you are no one, do you see how this makes no sense? It's all about the road of self discovery, not about you will find. There is no cutting corners, no get rich quick scheme. Sit down in peace, and observe.

How wicked would it be to be the next Jesus Christ? I mean, yes, being hung on the Cross and such is kinda shitty but he's still world famous after 2000 years. Who of this generation will be famous in another 2000 years? Maybe Kanye West but apart from him... I just don't know. You might be the one to finally bring salvation to this stinking world full of sin. -
Listen to you mum, she's totally right. Goji berries are a scam. Now get out with your 'high consciousness' shenanigans and eat your nutella sandwich.

Wanting to change other people is just a subtle form of your own insecurity. You are asking for validation for your own way of thinking. Just lead by example, don't waste your time trying to change other people, change yourself first. if other people see you happy and successful, people will want to adapt themselves to you. Don't delude yourself into thinking there are higher forms of the Graves model or whatever, that stuff is just an illusion and can easily become an ego trip if you believe in it to be true.

Love is simply the thing that is left when all attachment/resistance has gone. People can get a hint of love in romantic relations because they let go to a certain extent. People that have had near death experiences also experience extreme intense unconditional love because they let have let go. Unconditional love between 2 people or love between an activity/object and a person does not exist. Just the conditional excuse for the person to let go of resistance. Focussing on this love might help certain people in their enlightenment work, but it probably won't give a permanent shift in consciousness as long as the internal resistance is still there. -
"2x2=4" is not an absolute truth at all. It's an intersubjective observation, big difference.

I don't know, what is love? -
Some more quotes from the book: “It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.” “The things you used to own, now they own you.” “I let go. Lost in oblivion. Dark and silent and complete. I found freedom. Losing all hope was freedom.” “Maybe self-improvement isn't the answer, maybe self-destruction is the answer.” “Everyone smiles with that invisible gun to their head.” “We are not special. We are not crap or trash, either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens.” I don't know if this book tries to make a case for people seeking enlightenment or it's just a nihilistic ego trip. I'm leaning toward the latter. There are definitely things that can make people look at their lives a different way, but it's a very bleak and dark way. Enlightenment ain't all sunshine and rainbows but it ain't dark or condemning as well.

You know your passion isn't ego driven when you don't feel any fear if it doesn't work out. You just enjoy the activity for the doing of it. If you think this activity will get you somewhere else than where you already are, there is ego in it. Let's say you want to be a musician, if you just want to be that to be famous, rich and respected. It's ego. If you play music regardless it gives you money or anything else 'tangible' it might be a passion. The funny thing is, if you indeed reach enlightenment the "you" wouldn't even be able to be fearful about stuff like this. You would need to release these fears anyway, they are simply attachments of the ego. Life itself will become the passion and everything that crosses your experience will be passionate. All the ego stuff that drops on that moment is only a good thing, and you wouldn't worry about it one bit.

Most guys are going to lose hair one day in their life, some guys sooner than others. I know dudes who start going bald in their teens, they shaved it all, accepted it, and moved on. If you base your self-worth on the amount of hair on your head you are going to run into serious self-worth struggles in life, regardless how much hair you have. I'd say this is a good opportunity for you to look into loving yourself regardless the circumstances life throws at you. If you need to pop pills and use substances to feel secure about yourself you're going to be in trouble. Everyone will have issues with aging. For you it might be the hair, for someone else it might be wrinkles, greying hair, cellulitis, weight gain, whatever. It's not the hair that is the root issue of the problem, it's how you approach it. If you are capable of just loving that shit regardless, everyone else will as well. If you make an enemy out of it, you will see a demon behind every tree, even if you could somehow stop or reduce the hair loss. That's just how it goes.

You say you understand enlightenment yet you also use terms as: "disastrous consequences for the individual" and judge people for having a "delusional state of mind". One could argue that everyone who does not know Truth is delusional in a way, but that is a pretty condescending and unenlightened way of putting it. Secondly, everyone is on their journey, whether you are a spiritual seeker or not. Every seeker has fallen into numerous traps including romanticizing spirituality. Eventually will find their, or they will not, it's not up to you nor the individual. Every seeker is "delusional" when they start seeking enlightenment, how can they not be? They won't have a clue what they are looking for. Looking for something when you have no idea what it is, is by probably called delusional by most people. You could even say that by having an ego you are just running away from Truth. Demonizing these people will not help them closer to finding what they seek
-
In both cases, it is your ego standing in the way of actually finding what you seek

What is the goal of personal development? To be able to create as much value as you can. If you can put a genuine smile on some stranger's face every day you are creating more value in the world than most people do in a week. And it barely costs any energy

Lie all you want. Don't be a pussy, go all in with it, lie big. See where it will get ya. It's indeed not 'bad' like Shakespeare said. But at the end of the day, it is you who is lying to yourself, you are going to have to suffer for it. Why do people lie? Because they are afraid to tell the truth, they feel they are not worthy to tell the truth.

LOA is very powerful if you have no inner resistances/blocks/limiting beliefs which sabotage your ability to actually attract it into your reality. But since most people have a lot of ego BS going on, pretty much all the time, it just ain't happening. Most people would benefit way more on focussing on fixing their ego issues rather than trying to attract material stuff with LOA, nothing on the outside is going to make you happy on the inside anyway.

I think it depends if the enlightened person feels if school is his path to take or not. Why would an enlightened person finish school if he, in his heart, knows that it won't bring him anything of value? It's not that he has something to fear if he doesn't do school stuff. If he did school at that point he would just do it for the 'story', he would need to ignore Truth. I don't you'd be quick to ignore Truth if you are enlightened. I mean, most enlightened people are still functional in society, probably more so than the average neurotic person. It's just that there is no more self-worth at stake, there is nothing more to lose. -

For some reason the image of all these people crying and hugging each other and some guy sitting there thinking: "what in the hell have I gotten myself into?" really made me LOL. I'm pretty sure not all retreats are like that, Mooji is just an emotional guy and for some people that resonates. Other people need a more rational approach. -

Oh that's easy. If you want to make something really clear, then all you have to do is write that thing in CAPS. Then everyone will understand it. Read this is in the internet rule book. -

Maybe true. But then again, what actually is a pure, genuine reason for waking up, does such a thing exist? If a person has enough of the suffering of the ego one might say that that seeker is just trying to run away from his problems.- 24 replies
