  1. Well gladly i’m not American. American politics and the two party system is beyond trash imo.
  2. I was just thinking about some of the fears and this seems to be huge. That’s what MAGA comes down to imo. Fear of losing values, money, country, control etc. Which is conservatism they want to keep stuff and conserve it. In the political spectrum it’s more a fear of the right wing to lose something. Culture, country, money, power, control etc. On a personal level it can be also a fear of losing youth, life, looks, relationships and so on. On a spiritual level i guess it comes from a sense of lack or incompleteness. I can feel it quite strong sometimes the fear of losing something but I’m thankful for psychedelics and especially non duality for at least providing glimpses of no lack and completeness. Now most of left wing would say the fears of MAGA are totally insane. But if let’s say the fear of native americans to lose territory and they would understand it. Which is not a great comparison but you get the gist.
  3. Biden was just too old and fragile. He didn’t have the mojo or sauce.
  4. Aren’t Asian Americans the group who have the best grades at universities and highest salaries etc.? Which would make a case for good integration. Also Nigerians and so on.
  5. I mean i agree reasons for US being as powerful is allies, military, dollar as world currency, vassal states and governments, soft power like Hollywood and so on. But i think the loss can’t be prevented but yea it could have been prolonged. So i don’t think it was MAGA it would happen anyway. Every empire fell. Rome, Ottomans etc.
  6. Maybe maga is trying to have homogeneity. I guess the fear is that if there are too many let’s say latinos and leftists in the US they will get the vote power and destroy the « empire » from within or make it weak and then get destroyed by competition like China or something along those lines.
  7. Left and right don’t trust each other at all. Otherwise they could find solutions.
  8. Well first it sounds impossible. And after a week or two far left would say it’s inhumane, immigrants can’t be tracked and they all need legal status.
  9. Far lefists actually just want to open the borders. No borders no nation is a slogan.
  10. This Australian sky news woman is so annoying.
  11. who is a bad person to you?
  12. Ok yes in places like the US, Brazil, Europe you can do that. But then in places like Iran, China, Russia, Salvador, Saudi, Dubai etc. you can’t do that.
  13. And the question remains how do those who don’t live for power keep those ib check who do. It’s almost impossible because the power hungry have a battery in their back.
  14. I mean in terms of Military for sure. Then tech absolutely. Quality of life questionable. Public transport nope. Business? Maybe. School shootings yikes. Democracy ? Nope. Freedom of speech probably. Medicare no. Overall maybe slightly or not. In how many countries have you lived?
  15. Gpt The “Flower Revolution” in Portugal is more accurately known as the Carnation Revolution (Revolução dos Cravos). It was a peaceful military coup that took place on April 25, 1974, and it ended nearly 50 years of dictatorship in Portugal. 🌺 Why “Carnation” Revolution? No shots were fired. Civilians put carnations (flowers) into the barrels of soldiers’ rifles and on their uniforms as a sign of peace. It symbolized nonviolent change, hence the nickname. 🕰️ Background Portugal had been ruled by an authoritarian regime under António de Oliveira Salazar (1932–1968) and then Marcelo Caetano. The regime was called the Estado Novo (“New State”) and was deeply conservative, anti-communist, and repressive. Portugal was also fighting colonial wars in Africa (Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau), draining the economy and morale. ⚔️ April 25, 1974: What Happened? A group of young, reformist military officers, known as the Armed Forces Movement (MFA), launched a coup. Their goals: end the colonial wars, restore democracy, and rebuild civil liberties. They took over government buildings with almost no resistance. The people flooded the streets in support, handing out red carnations to the soldiers. 📈 Outcome Dictatorship overthrown in one day. Democracy restored over the following years. Decolonization followed quickly—Portugal granted independence to its African colonies. A new democratic constitution was adopted in 1976. 🇵🇹 Legacy April 25 is a national holiday in Portugal: Freedom Day (Dia da Liberdade). The revolution is seen as a rare, successful example of a nonviolent uprising. It deeply influenced Portugal’s modern identity as a free and democratic country. Let me know if you’d like pictures, music (like the revolutionary song “Grândola, Vila Morena”), or key figures involved.
  16. So because of the other topics i wonder about successful resistance. Could be resistance from India to the Brits, from Tibetans to China, from woke to MAGA and vice versa, from Palestine to Israel. i think it’s impossible what the best way of resistance is. I mean was Gandhi really that successful or was he lucky that the Brits fought 2 World Wars and lost their motivation and appetite for colonialism? I guess everything has to fall in place. A strong movement and a declining opposition.
  17. This scene i think was inspired by the revolution against the Dictatorship in Portugal which was non violent and successful. The way i heard it the army came out and the protesters put flowers into the barrels of the guns of the army who were pointing at them.
  18. Greatest in which terms? Quality of life?
  19. The colour pattern looked similar enough. Small-ish phone and was out and about. Anything else?
  20. Although that is also unknowable. For example Tibetans tried non violence against the Chinese and lost their territory and self determination.
  21. Violence is not just maybe not necessary but it’ll probably steer things spiraling down. And honestly probably enemies/competition like Russia and China are just waiting for it. I think it has to be peaceful. Right wingers have more guns anyway. Like Ghandi naan violence.
  22. Or maybe there is a way like with religion in Iran and Afghanistan. But even there i think it’ll crumble soon-ish. Although who knows, i don’t know anything.
