Archosaurs are a group of diapsid reptiles that include all extinct dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and modern birds and crocodilians. The name "Archosaur" means "ruling lizards," and these creatures are characterized by their distinct skeletal features, such as an opening in front of the eyes (antorbital fenestra), teeth set in sockets, and a semi-erect or fully erect posture. ### Key Points about Archosaurs: 1. **Classification**: - **Pseudosuchia**: This subgroup includes modern crocodilians and their extinct relatives. - **Avemetatarsalia (or Ornithodira)**: This subgroup includes pterosaurs and dinosaurs, with the latter giving rise to modern birds. 2. **Evolutionary Significance**: - Archosaurs first appeared in the late Permian period, around 250 million years ago. - They became the dominant terrestrial vertebrates in the Mesozoic era (the age of dinosaurs). 3. **Anatomy and Adaptations**: - **Antorbital fenestra**: A key feature, this hole in the skull in front of the eyes reduces the weight of the skull. - **Teeth in sockets** (thecodont dentition): This feature provides a strong attachment for teeth. - **Erect posture**: This allows for more efficient movement and breathing, distinguishing them from other reptiles like lizards and snakes that have a sprawling posture. 4. **Modern Descendants**: - **Birds**: Modern birds are the direct descendants of theropod dinosaurs and are the only surviving dinosaurs. - **Crocodilians**: This group includes crocodiles, alligators, caimans, and gharials. 5. **Extinct Members**: - **Dinosaurs**: This diverse group included species ranging from the giant sauropods to small, feathered therapods.

Me too. It doesn't seem very good for survival, our intellect is one of our major adaptions. -
I feel you on this. I'm currently looking for remote software engineering jobs. That way even if I have to wake up early I can just roll out of bed and log on. I love raves, can't wait til I get out of my college town and move to a big city. I've been seeing New York everywhere, I think God is telling me something.

The more I learn the harder it is for me to define enlightenment. It seems like a catch-all term for describing a ton of different states of consciousness. That being said, I have a meditation instructor who says that after a decade of consistent practice he has no more internal monologue. That seems like "enlightenment" to me. But it might be helpful to distinguish enlightenment and awakening. Enlightenment seems to be about dismantling the ego and attaining a persistent no-thought or nondual state. Whereas awakening is understanding the fundamental structure of reality. Enlightenment is something that can be accomplished naturally with lots of practice, whereas certain awakenings, especially something like alien consciousness, might require chemical assistance. -
Crocodiles are more closely related to birds (dinosaurs) than to lizards. Terror Bird Deinosuchus chomping on edmontasaurus

You're not wrong. The guy who sold me acid was an all-around drug dealer . Its a damn shame because that ended up getting him sent to jail.

@What Am I. Oh yes, I see. I didn't realize there was a significant difference between IM and IV
-
@What Am I his 5 meo dose was probably the same as yours. IM is exponentially more potent than smoked (for anything) there's a reason that once addicts start injecting they don't go back

dab hash rosin (this could make you catatonic if you're not a veteran), or use a vaporizer with water filtration

Where does qualia come from? How does it know how to create qualia consistent enough to create a consistent reality? I believe the answer is intelligence, like the game engine vs the display (qualia) it's somewhat obvious too, 99% of people don't believe they're just whatever experience they're having. Its just that as seekers we get lost in nondualism and naive subjective idealism. -

I realized this (clarifying, generic stuff) independently of Leo if you ever get a reading from a really good psychic , you'll know it's true it's only a limit if you're unwilling to level the playing field with psychedelics -

Wonderful, the hard problem of consciousness , unfortunately it doesn't say much about other theories ie materialist panpsychism you can also argue directly against physicalism by realizing a material system can't be infinite -

You gotta find the diamonds in the rough Nisargadatta, Ralston, Jung are good (as long as you realize you probably won't attain their level of consciousness unless you're as genetically gifted as they are) -

Yeah. He also said for adhd it's easier to meditate in a noisy environment. I love meditating in the morning and listening to the birds. Totally agree with him on this (have serious adhd) -

Do whatever works . I do both depending on how I feel. Sometimes I want to focus on sounds or my breathing and I close my eyes. Sometimes I want to focus on the wall, how it subtly warps and shifts. -
"Under the hood", prior to the perception-level of consciousness, all sorts of calculations are occurring to make this illusion happen thats what most enlightened Buddhists and nondualists are missing. That's why the philosophy of someone like Bernardo Kastrup has almost as much in common with materialism as with the philosophy of someone who is awake. Both materialists and Kastrup believe reality is fundamentally stupid.

Frank Yang is a meditation noob. That's not hyperbole, he's quite literally too young to be anything but a meditation noob. If you're set on the traditional path, I can only recommend crotchety old tImers. -
