  1. A great idea in theory, but hard to do in the current climate. The social media mindset is "Wicked tech companies are censoring the Truth about reptilian fairy dust in airliner exhausts because they are part of the Deep State". Any fact-checker who questions the narratives of extremists will come under attack. It is close to impossible to change people's minds. People have now been subjected to many years of AI 'brain hacking'.
  2. This is definitely an important factor. The traditional role of middle-class father/husband is incompatible with this 'feral' mindset. Lots of this behaviour could be seen as 'letting off steam' in the absence of a healthy community, identity, vision for the future and so forth. It could even be seen as an appetite for destruction having lost all hope. Regarding the earlier discussion of victimhood, I am a 'person of colour' but I prefer to give extra consideration for the perspectives those who are different to me in order to compensate for any inherent bias I have resulting from being stuck with my physical form 24/7, and only intellectually understanding other people's lives. There are numerous ways in which these guys are worthy of sympathy and have legitimate victimhood credibility, even if they are not going to win the misery olympics. Understanding these will enable a more effective and more compassionate viewpoint, even if there will also be a place for brute force in response to actual terrorism. Firstly, these guys are being bombarded with social media disinformation and even psychological warfare, often originating in places like Russia. Add in Fox News, Alex Jones, etc. and the result is going to be psychological mayhem. They are disposable pawns in Trump's game of Divide and Rule. Presumably, they are also using drugs, porn, thrill-seeking, etc. to compensate for lacking a healthy frame of mind (the fact that they actually talk about opposing masturbation is a red flag here). In their culture, it is not OK for men to have feelings or to have any sort of feminine energy, which sets up yet more mental dysfunction as their internal environment descends into chaos, trying to deny the truth about themselves. They have clearly been denied the education that would give them sharp critical thinking skills, a functional intellect, a broader perspective on their own place in the world, appreciation for the grievances of others, not to mention avoiding primitive black/white, us/them, good/bad type of logic, which is caused by excessive anger retarding rational cognition. Then there's the harsh side of being a low-status male (not to sound like Jordan Peterson). The traditional role of being thrown into the meat grinder of wars has been thwarted by today's relatively nonviolent global community, and if they are not wealthy, respected or at least able to experience positive relationships, they could well conclude that they'd like to be a part of an enraged war against the world that they feel has left them without a place. Yes, this is a fallacious mentality because they could all work on themselves, but apparently they do not actually know this because no one has educated them. Pity the fool. I could go on, but needless to say, real progress on these issues will come when we can view sickness and wounded behaviour with understanding and empathy. Love your enemies.
  3. It sounds like you are doing good work in exposing what is true. Remember that fear can only come from the false mind-made self. Do not worry about circumstances unless there is some practical action you can take. "Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God."
  4. There have been countless major controversies. There was 'Bendgate', there was 'You're holding it wrong', there was listening to conversations, there was $700 wheels... and it only ever makes the company stronger. A bit like the Trump supporter phenomenon, there comes a point where no amount of controversy or infamy makes any difference because it is about having a sense of belonging to the exclusive in-group? (Note: no disrespect to anyone who uses Apple products. I want to be clear on that.)
  5. Yes. It's the "OK, this has gone far enough. He will change now" mindset. How many people with extreme egos have woken up historically?
  6. You live up to your name well! In my opinion, this is a very relevant question. Not the fact that Apple make quality, premium devices, but the fact that people, particularly schoolchildren in some areas, feel like they will be ostracized and rejected by society if they fail to buy Apple products. And apparently it affects people's attractiveness in dating as I mentioned above. I'm genuinely trying to figure this out as I've never seen anything like it in my life. Imagine if it were socially unacceptable to drive a car that is not a Mercedes-Benz? You might find that just about everything is made in China. Though production is ramping up in India and other places.
  7. The Corona Virus of one man is a tragedy, the Corona Virus of 7.36 million is a statistic.
  8. Please advise local law enforcement about what happened. Otherwise, it will happen to someone else who may not be able to get away.
  9. The scariest part is when you consider that Qanon is all about psychological projection of the shadow self. They must be all closet pedophiles.
  10. It is good news, but logically, the next step will be fact-checking and moderating some of Trump's hate speech on the platform.
  11. In all honesty, I'm not the right person for that discussion. I am strongly averse to what I consider manipulative pseudo-science, as people close to me have gone down horrible rabbit holes and relationships have been ruined. Here in Australia, anti-5G conspiracy theorists have committed terrorist attacks because they read on Facebook that mobile phone towers cause Corona Virus. I hope that these people are put in jail where they belong. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-22/cranbourne-west-tower-fire-investigation/12277080 ...and the US https://abcnews.go.com/US/feds-warn-attacks-related-bogus-covid-19-conspiracy/story?id=70721145 ...and the UK https://abcnews.go.com/International/american-officials-alarmed-arson-attacks-uk-cell-towers/story?id=70286091
  12. All very true. If you do want to make a change, it helps to have a positive role model. Most people will not cut the mustard for that.
  13. This is a surprisingly interesting topic. I was genuinely surprised recently to learn that a credible study claimed that prospective partners are 76% more desirable if they flex having an iPhone. On the surface, Apple has a number of things going for them, with excellent software integration, high performance CPUs and, back in the Jobs era, a history of popularising innovations. However, they are also masters of psychological manipulation and extract huge sums of money out of people in a cult-like way. I have worked in the tech industry and Apple has a secret rule that prohibits shops from displaying Apple products directly alongside other brands. Apple cultists have to live in an alternative universe where other brands do not exist, hence new features do not exist until Apple 'invents' them. Considering many people who feel compelled to pay the 'Apple tax' are young or financially struggling, I view them as predatory and unethical. They also like to troll the public with notoriously overpriced products, such as their $1,000 monitor stand and feed off the controversy. Also, their persistence of using the old Lightning cable is ecologically unethical, and the EU has called them out on it. The rest of the industry has moved towards a single charging cable for all mainstream devices, yet Apple users need to use a different cable for an iPhone or base iPad compared to the USB-C cable for a Macbook, iPad Pro, etc. But who needs ethics when you are corporation worth more than a lot of small countries?
  14. Ramana Maharshi's awakening happened during a panic attack also. But unfortunately, the remaining 99.999999% of people experiencing mental health calamities do not experience awakening out of it.
  15. Autism and ADD as distinct syndromes have only existed for a few decades. Blaming them on Wi-fi is preposterous. Joseph Mercola is another rogue 'professional' and anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorist who sells dodgy products using scare tactics. This is not content that we should promote. https://web.archive.org/web/20090706135749/http://www.businessweek.com/smallbiz/content/may2006/sb20060523_063274.htm https://www.chicagotribune.com/lifestyles/health/ct-met-fda-warns-mercola-20110425-story.html
  16. From what I understand, many of these people are uneducated, single-issue voters. Abortion, abortion, abortion. Nothing else matters. Also, they operate in a flock so will take instructions from leadership. This is also what makes them so powerful in a democratic system.
  17. Yes, but what we call mental illness can have a physical component, to do with serotonin in the brain and all that. Mental illness just tends to get stigmatised more, or people gaining less sympathy because it is believed that they should just snap out of it. Given the seriousness of someone on the verge of self-harm, it would be best to approach it at the physical/medical level as well as doing the spiritual work of disidentifying from the false self. So we can both be 'right'.
  18. Maybe, but trying to diagnose yourself is only going to add to your stress and frustration. Please find a top psychiatrist and get the medication and support you need.
  19. This is ultimately true, but it may not be the best approach in practice. If somebody fell and broke a leg, is the solution to take them to hospital, or to tell them to stop identifying with the body?
  20. Some of the increases in instances of conditions is caused by superior testing and diagnostic methodology. It means that in the old days, people would have no idea what was wrong with them. Food and lifestyle is a huge factor in health. I would leave it at that. Worrying about things like Wi-Fi actually weakens the immune system compared to not worrying, due to activating the sympathetic nervous system. Fear is man's worst enemy.
  21. If it is manic depressive disorder (I've had several friends with it), there is medication that moderates the swings, but of course it needs to be correctly diagnosed first. https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/bipolar-disorder/index.shtml I'm not sure if you'd be able to 'spiritual bypass' this, so I'd prioritise treatment even at the same time as spiritual studies.
  22. I have heard anecdotal claims of people who say they are affected by low-level radiation. Usually it is hypochondria. Someone told a story about his mother claiming she was affected by Wi-Fi, so they had to turn it off every night so she could sleep. Problem was, they only pretended to turn it off and of course she never noticed! Compared to 100 years ago, the average person is bombarded with unimaginably high quantities of radio, microwave and other EMR. And people are living longer than ever before.
  23. Your best bet would be to see your doctor. This is entirely treatable.
  24. Microwave ovens are banned in the US Radio Quiet Zone (along with Wi-Fi routers and most cell phone usage) so of course some radiation does detectably escape the device. If health is a concern, better to focus on what you are actually cooking in your microwave. Or, for that matter, the effect on the body of worrying about random things like this. (Likewise conspiracy theorist fodder like fluoride in water, vaccines, etc.)
