Leo I think we need more of those "...example" threads. But more democratic, like people setting up a lot of those, as in in-depth discussions of culture such music and paintings and maybe literature with dozens of people. We have a politics section of that, so why not do it with art too? I think that would be very interesting to see. We have better thread design than Reddit too, so I think it has potential to be great. Yeah actually I think a forum section dedicated on that would be astonishing

I think upvotes suck, its a language for people with no vocabulary, it seems. The Internet shouldn't be a popularity game. That's just my two cents tho.

Reddit has LOTS of herd mentality, ideology, and pointless stuff in it, not to mention being a massive time eater. HOWEVER, there are countless good stuff that can be found (if you able to find them.)

@Adodd Well I keep on learning.. keeping on feeling... keep on living. I won't pretend to have found meaning yet. All I can tell you is try, try new things, always do that. That's where all the lessons wait for you, ime. Hope this helps!

Life does have a purpose. It is the way things happen, in the sense that birds chirp, ants hoard food, dung beetles gather and roll poop, wolves hunt, etc etc. Now, meaning is man-made. Really, without it we would only endlessly (and as history has shown, inevitably) fulfill our "purpose", which is being the biggest, greediest, cruelest animals in the Earth.

@preventingdiabetes It's really hard. It also alienates a lot of people, because culture itself is designed to make people NOT to self-actualize).

I was gonna make a post for a journal of mine, but then it told me that I could only post 266.24 kb files? I wonder what's the reason for this? .. I find the journal room to be reaally helpful, but I think this kind of limitation hurts the content of the journal...

@evgn Looks matter because of preference. Because humans are not trees. Which of course, makes a lot of sense and purpose even, if you think about it.
