This is not a house. Its more of an office-block/hotel/events-venue.

Speak for yourself. Your comments are all over the place and kind of self contradictory. What high standards exactly are these you have? Please give me a list of the top five things you want from your ideal partner?

The study is talking about kids in high school and young adults in uni. I'm talking about natural preferences and what is actually happening in the job market now. When little girls prefer playing with toy cars rather than dolls, then that's the day I'll admit a shift has occurred. Otherwise each gender will naturally gravitate towards the careers that make the best use of their natural talents and preferences,
-
Women will never surpass men in the "hard science" careers, just like men will never surpass women in careers that involve care-giving or nurturing. Both genders have their natural strengths, and some jobs just require the underlying skill set, regardless of the individuals gender.

A nurse has her shit together. It's not about how much they earn... it's about vision, determination and self discipline. I do not want a leech sleeping next to me every night, no matter how hot they are.

True. And I did not add the question mark did I? So different case, believe me..

"Lol don't be outraged, I can clarify for you. I'm saying if a man chooses based on looks, feminine quality, cooperativeness or whatever his factors are, the woman's success is not really a factor in the selection. For a lot of women the man's success or lack thereof, is usually a factor amongst other factors. " Nah, was just mild irritated. If you thought that's me outraged, then you really don't want to see me outraged Nice link, very relevant to me, and I see where you are coming from. But also, she is a special case, so not a very good example... a successful woman is one thing, but a successful black woman in the usa is another level. Feel a bit sorry for her, seems like a nice person. She should have paid for that appointment Personally, all things being equal I'd pick the more successful woman who has got all her shit together as my life partner. "Strength as in physical strength, yes. Success not necessarily, its more that the masculine energy is more determined to be successful, whatever that means for the individual. If we're talking about men they tend to value success more, which makes sense given the whole history of humans. Also this is not necessarily a good thing if its taken to the extreme, you get workolholism and miss out on life. " C'mon. You know I was not talking about physical strength. Nature very wisely gave men that... but on all other fronts.. mental, emotional, spiritual, social etc etc. Gender does not matter. "What would you consider masculine and feminine traits?"

You are in the friend zone because you will not risk saying how you feel. It's safe and comfy over there.. isn't it?
-
A chase, regardless of who is doing the chasing... implies that one of them is running away. That is why they have to be chased after, because they are running, in the opposite direction. I'd rather not be chased or chase. A more healthy interaction between two people attracted to one another is more of a dance. Yes, one of them takes the lead, both both have to make their moves.

What do you mean "how men value you normally"? Is she supposed to imagine an alternate universe where she is not successful and choose a partner based on that? Really? Would you do that yourself... choose your partner by imagining you are something else? What I am getting from this, is that you believe strength and success is a masculine trait, yes?

Why?

There also has to be a full moon on the night of sexual congress.

"I know that relationships can be beneficial but personally relationships are a huge waste of time for me.. I'm in my 20s, and I spent around 6 years in relationships with not much coming out of it but disappointment." I'm getting so old, that I look at people in their 20s the same way I looked at teens when I was in my twenties. You still have your whole life ahead of you, and you are currently processing some heartbreak. I guarantee you'll feel different 5, 10, 15 20 years from now. "If I had been with people who had the same seriousness with regard to commitment as me, I probably would have been in a much better place in relationships like - gotten married and settled and made good out of it, mutually growing with that person." Maybe yes, maybe no. Who knows? "The only 2 basic things that I desired in relationships was - compatibility and commitment." Commitment. Do you mean one sexual partner for the rest of your life? That can be a tough one for men, especially physical commitment. I'm not saying you should put up with it, just do not take it too personally. Men are just programed differently when it comes to sex and commitment. This may be something you will get a better perspective of as you grow older. A woman in her 20s has not yet been through her sexual peak yet. I guarantee you'll feel different 5, 10, 15 20 years from now "However both were lacking in all the 4 partners I had so far." Compatibility and chemistry. Hollywood is all about chemistry, as compatibility is the cold, boring stuff. For a long term gig, compatibility is essential. "One of the problems that could have precipitated such a situation was me falling in love hopelessly and spontaneously with all my heart and emotion without a single judgement or processing on other metrics like intellectual /mentality match or commitment match. Not accessing the relationship intellectually but making choices by following my heart. This led me to simply ignore any of the metrics necessary for the relationship I wanted to build and I believed that "heart based relationships " are always successful and everything else gets taken care of, as long as we both are in love, however this was not to be the case, and I suffered terrible disaster when the reality hit back in my face" This is not something you'll ever have any control over. Happens to everyone. Happens to animals too. Your system was flooded with oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins (aka falling in love) just long enough for you to pair and reproduce. In the animal kingdom, lust, romantic love and attraction are just chemical processes like photosynthesis in plants. "Now I broke that curse finally and actually became aware of myself for the first time in 6 years, thanks to this forum, and actually knocked some sense into me and asked myself - what the hell is going on?" The breaking of curse here is just the chemicals running out, and both of you being left with the reality of who you really are. At that point, a cold hard, boring decision has to be made. Stay together, or seek the next high. "I have decided to be single and celibate for the rest of my life. I want none of the baggage, in any form. And instead focus on self development." This is not for "you" aka your conscious mind to decide. These are primal, basic drives you are talking about. It's not like deciding you are going to buy a blue car next time. You will need to get other more powerful hidden forces within you on board. And only time will tell if they are with you on this one. "Would I feel or get very lonely?" Yes "Will this loneliness impact my growth?" Yes "Is this an abnormal or weird or wrong decision, do people normally do this in some proportion?" Yes, looking back, I suspect I may have unconsciosly made the same decision (minus the celibacy part). "Will not having sex impact my life if I consciously avoid it?" Yes "Will the lack of affection from a potential opposite sex partner impact my life and how so?" Yes. You will be fighting powerful forces within you. Very possible, but will require a lot of energy, focus and discipline. "Can we really live without love and sex and continue actualizing?" What is this actualizing you speak of? "Would this be a decision that I could come to regret?" Ofcourse yes/maybe/no. But it is best to base your decisions in love (what you want) rather than fear (what you do not want e.g. regret)

This explanation really clicked for me, thank you. It all boils down to a set of core questions our mind plays out 100s of times a day.
-
In nature, a species rarely, very rarely ever feeds off its own kind (am looking at you, spiders). So no, that's not nature or natural. And we all do live by nature whatever we eat, unless of-course you are growing and eating everything you eat. We are an apex predator, and that too, is nature.
-
Atleast the farmers in the original post was going to eat the cows. This one is just shooting birds as "pest control"
-
Humans actually have it really good compared to some wild animals (eg those monkeys climbing slippery rocks just to sleep away from lions). How do you explain that?
-
It would be like any other hunted wild animals life. I don't see chicken doing very well in the wild... everything would it them. Look at your mobile phone? Do you think its any different in terms of what was sacrificed so that you can have the leisure of using it? Or the plants you buy from the grocery store? You think animals did not suffer for your convenience? If you really care that much, go live in a commune that's completely cut of from modern life and its members produce and grow everything they consume, from food to furniture.
-
We are talking about the type of teeth they have.
-
You are still here There is always a point and some value in having a conversation and exchange viewpoints. In arguing? Not always. Just no point in arguing about some things... was not arguing. Only explaining my views on what I thought about those cows getting shot, interesting scientific facts (CANINE TEETH), and personal preferences (meat is tasty). Someone telling me what I can put in my own pie-hole is winding me up... excuse me for responding in kind. Don't care what you think of my jokes, am here to entertain myself, not you. The joke was on you.

What about the trunks bark? Is it part of the trunk, or separate from the trunk? What about the barks cork tissue? Is it part of the bark, or separate from the bark? What about the cork tissues cells? Are they part of the cork tissue, or separate from the cork tissue? What about the cells membrane? Is it part of the cell or separate from the cell? What about the membranes porosome? Is it part of the membrane, or separate from the membrane? What about the porosomes protiens, is it part of the promosome, or separate from the promosome? What about the proteins acids, are they part of the protein, or separate from the proteins? What about the acids molecules? Are they separate from the acid, or part of the acid? What about the molecules... The real question is, what is part of something? And does something cease to exist just because it is a part of something else? Does the whole cease to exist, just because it is made up of many parts? Does a car not exist because it had tires? What is a part, and what is the whole? How many parts are allowed before we declare "this part has ceased to exist because of the whole!" -

You are not just your thoughts. So how does a gap in your thoughts become you? -
BOOM! Well said.
