  1. True words, but what is higher consciousness and what is lower should be learnt or known
  2. True, prayer is something everyone must do, to their favourite god. Devotion helps I become smaller and hence become larger.
  3. Doesn't every animal possess instincts from the time they were born? For example, the cry of the baby when seeing the light. But what if the baby was trying to communicate through her cry? Instincts are more fundamental I believe, hence they should have come first
  4. Here are some from my mind: Good: 1. Praying 2. Having hope during difficult times 3. Compassion and kindness Bad: 1. Superstitions 2. Egoistic pride 3. Following set and unchangeable rules
  5. Great! But what do you do to fill the void with love? Or do you feel it instantly?
  6. Everything converges towards the truth, no matter if it is devotional, moral, spiritual or rational.
  7. The rules are the ones which enhance the experience of life, and creates the possibility for a beautiful journey, from one that of lust and pleasure, to that of bliss, from that of fear to fearlessness, from that of an animal to that of a god, from that of ego to that of unity, from that of a slave to that of a master, From that of brahma to that of Brahman.
  8. You can do it with hardcore meditation, mindfulness and using dispassion techniques. What makes the difference is the amount of effort you put in achieving the same. You have to dedicate atleast an hour everyday for meditation, and try to be mindful throughout the day, no matter what you are doing. ( Includes pooping too). But an excited and imaginative mind compared to a peaceful one has perks of its own, giving you the adrenaline now and then. Try to find the balance and your life will be fine.
  9. What do you mean by light and love? How does it feel? Does it feel pleasurable? Does it feel like you loving a person? I know you have spent a lot of time out there, so try for the sake of me to describe the feeling of that as best as possible with words. Also, how do you differentiate the feeling of emptiness without heart and it filled with your heart?
  10. You may be right, looks like the world can't get free of yin and yang. Personally, I believe what you mention as a non dual experience is simply the extreme polarity of yang or the light or the bliss.
  11. @Breakingthewall How would you differentiate such a blissful feeling from other emotions, including love?
  12. I wanted existence to be blissful, and I got it. It will be unjust if it's any other way.
  13. In Islam, you give a form to God with a name called Allah, in the same manner, in Hinduism, you give a form with a name and a shape. Both are not that far away.
  14. They don't have to exist to have effects on you. It doesn't matter which god you pray, Shiva or Christ or Allah or a tree, you all pray to the same God.
  15. Sorry to hear that your son is sick, but since you posted it here, here are some insights from my side: 1. Your son being sick provides you an opportunity to show your selfless side. Pray for him with all your effort, sacrifice all your time to spend for him, and do your best to see him happy again. 2. Your son being sick and you suffering for it also shows that awakening alone doesn't free you from suffering. As long as you have selfish desires, attachments and an inflated ego, suffering continues. 3. There's nothing wrong in suffering, you should just make sure it's within your tolerable limits. For that, you have to keep your egoistic tendencies down. As long as that is maintained, your life experiences will be smooth.
  16. It might be the fear that love will disappear when the loving object is gone, but you have the capability to always love no matter what happens. And the universe always loves you back even if you are all alone.
  17. Just like you have chosen the sufi sect in Islam, you can choose to follow something like advaita vedanta in Hinduism or worship an ultimate deity like Shiva or Vishnu or follow something entirely different like Jainism or Sikhism. Although Hinduism has its own set of problems like casteism, ( it's debatable whether it's part of the religion or the social structure in ancient times) and superstitions, multiple deity worship is considered necessary by a group of Hindus, because your mind can focus and manifest desires better that way. For eg., if you want education, you have to worship Saraswati, if you want money, you have to worship Lakshmi. If you want a child, you have to travel a long way to reach a specific temple meant for that. Why do you need multiple gods? It's simply because human's intelligence differs from each other, many unable to understand that God can be only one. If we worship the same god for everything, the focus and interest given to the god might get diluted. People's effort to pray will be reduced as you wish to get everything from the same location from the same temple nearby. Instead, if you can get specific desires from only a specific god, your effort and concentration for manifestation has to increase. If you wish to worship only a single deity, you can always worship either Shiva or Vishnu. They are both considered the same by many, which is brahman, and nobody will question you for worshipping only a single God.
  18. The shortcuts include not only psychedelics, but also practices that promise you quick and easy enlightenment, including some meditative techniques.
  19. Nothing comes without effort, especially something like enlightenment. Sure, you may be able to experience awakening with shortcuts or with the help of genes, but it's similar to masturbation. Awakening through shortcuts may be life changing for those suffering a lot, but it might turn out to be a negative experience for those bound by egoistic tendencies. If you really have a strong curiosity for the unknown, you will automatically work hard to reach it, by atleast striving to reduce egoistic characters. Religions provide a lot of guidance in reducing such egoistic characters. While the end result through hard work and shortcuts may be the same, the effects won't last forever or had repercussions, as karma won't let you get anything for free.
  20. Exactly! Especially when you are engaging in something that you are passionate about and benefits others at the same time. Yes, maintaining almost complete openness all the time will be enlightenment.
  21. It does have a great purpose, to experience life. Reality is called love, because it feels similar to the feeling of love in a romantic or platonic relationship. Just like such love varies in magnitude depending upon how much you love the other person, the love you feel from reality also varies depending on how open you are to it.
  22. I don't know much in detail about the devil, but loving your enemies means understanding that your enemies are not in full control of their actions and decisions and being compassionate towards them for their nature, even if you have to take some decisions that results in hurting them. You should not seek to take action with revenge and other selfish emotions, but use your love to do what is good for both yourself, your enemy and the world.
  23. True, people are not good or bad, they just fall deep into the illusions of pleasure and selfishness and hence unaware or ignorant where true unconditional bliss is present. Everyone knows it deep inside their heart, but they simply ignore it for egoistic pleasures.
