  1. @Nos7algiK Thank you for sharing.
  2. Take the free Power course before you decide. You'll understand what Stages International means by “shadow,” and you'll get a small discount on the shadow work course once you complete the free course.
  3. My life purposes are: 1) To help domestic violence and sexual assault survivors rebuild their lives 2) To use technology to bring people together I bought the book and read the section about the Construct-Aware stage. I will have to review my life and see how my purposes played a role throughout my life. I may have to review the entire book to accomplish this. Thank you for the recommendation.
  4. I’m on the fence about buying the book since I am skeptical about the concept of having a life purpose. Sure, the figment of the imagination that is me has recently been able to articulate their “life purpose,” but it has changed over the years, making me think that purpose over a phase of someone’s life would be more appropriate to set than the purpose that could change radically as life goes on. I haven't finished any of Leo’s videos on ego except for the ones about Cook-Greuter’s stages of ego development. I've gotten copies of Cook-Greuter’s papers and other here on this website. I watched Kim Barta’s video and explored his website. I watched the videos regarding a free course on taking your power back. While the course was interesting, I don't think I'll be taking any of the paid courses.
  5. I believe I am starting to move past this stage due to a shift I had earlier today, but it is too soon to tell if the shift is permanent.
  6. It’s not fun. It's hard to put into words, but @PepperBlossoms does a decent job. What I feel in the construct-aware/ego-aware stage is a profound sense of alienation since I'm above all these other stages. Then I wonder if I'm being egotistical because I'm not above anyone, I just happened to fall into this stage, quite by accident. Then I note to myself that that's not entirely true, either. I wanted to get to the Unitive stage, but I somehow got stuck here. Then I remind myself that there is no “I” and that these are all electrical impulses in some brain. Then the thoughts in the brain remember that God is looking out through the eyes of a human. Then the human remembers it's getting late and that work is tomorrow and that work corresponds to the human’s (a figment of God’s imagination) supposed life purpose. Life is good yet so mundane that even in meaning, there is meaninglessness in it. Then one remembers that they are happy, that this is happiness, which is somehow depressing. So meditation about love happens, which is the only thing there is. So that is ego-aware consciousness.
  7. True -- and it's not often that I see something labeled Yellow around here that actually is. Good job.
  8. Thank you for the video links. I have decided to obtain a copy of Philosophical Investigations and read it for myself.
  9. Sorry, I don't respond to word salad.
  10. Do you have enough money to start over with something that would be a good return on your investment?
  11. Where are you getting this from? This is not the the theory at all.
  12. You have 4 classes left. That shouldn't take long at all. Finish and get your diploma. Psychology may not help you get the best job, but it will help you understand people in a variety of contexts, anywhere you go. Permaculture provides much more limited opportunities for use.
  13. I only read the Wikipedia article, but Wittgenstein seems very construct-aware. vol_14_no_1_cook-greuter_construct_aware_stage_and_the_fool_archetype.pdf
  14. No, from my study of Graves' system, I am confident there are no "yellow personality types." The Stages are vMemes and not personalities. Any personality can be in any stage; there's no relationship between personality type and a person or culture's location on the Spiral. I agree that people in Yellow would not feel comfortable in a culture or a job that had an Orange focus.
  15. @mememe There’s no such thing as a “yellow” or “orange” personality. I know plenty of people in orange who have networks of success. In fact, I don't find anything particularly yellow in your description of a “yellow” job--more orange-green. Yellow is more of a mindset or culture than a certain career path.
  16. Thanks! In this sense, no perspective is entirely “right” or “wrong,” but some perspectives are better suited to the situation than others. Also, Yellow may have a preference on perspectives, but they are mature enough to say that their preferred way of doing things may not be the best way of handling a situation. So, Yellow is not a black-or-white thinker like Blue is, but Yellow doesn't think all perspectives are completely equal like Green tends to say, either.
  17. What does “a yellow job” mean to you?
  18. From what I gathered from your post: You don't care about the truth, because the truth is you only care about survival. However, you admitted that you only care about survival. That takes a lot of self-awareness and introspection. If only the majority of the people in the world admitted they only cared about survival. Instead, they care about winning the rat race, but they deny that makes them mere rats in terms of consciousness level. However, just that little bit of insight makes you a little above the rat race. The question for you is this: Do you continue to pursue the truth, or do you go back to being a rat?
  19. Yes, but people in Green usually aren't illiterate. They had to pass through the rationality stage of Orange before rejecting it. Don't get me wrong. I know Green-ish New Agers who have fallen for conspiracy theories, so I understand what you mean. However, people in Green often have unintegrated aspects of Red in them. That and their rejection of Orange's rationality is what makes them so vulnerable to conspiracy theories and other unhealthy aspects of Red. However, I don't see that operating here based on what you've described. This person may be Green; I admit I don't know this person. However, the aspects you are jealous of are Red -- good aspects of Red. Red is about self-confidence, self-empowerment, and self-preservation, as well as entrepreneurship. Think of a cool, collected samurai warrior. The Samurai we see in movies is an exemplar of the good qualities of Red. I've recommended this book to someone else on the forum, but "The Turquoise Brick Road" is a wonderful book that makes Clare-Graves' Spiral Dynamics accessible to a modern audience. There is a lot to learn from the positive aspects of Stage Red, but there is also nothing to be jealous of because of Red's foibles. If I were you, I would definitely look into getting a copy of the book so you can learn to integrate Red. The kindle version is available on Amazon, but it doesn't display correctly on some pages, so I recommend that you order the hardcopy on https://theturquoisebrickroad.com.
  20. Illiteracy and strong belief in wild conspiracy theories typically aren't characteristics of people in Orange/Green--just saying. I agree with @Nahm to see her as a personal growth experience and then move on. She’s financially successful, but that is the only plus I see in her from your description.
  21. I've noticed that many people on the internet use the stages of the spiral as a measure of psychological or spiritual development when Cook-Greuter’s stages of ego development would be better suited for that purpose. http://www.cook-greuter.com/Cook-Greuter 9 levels paper new 1.1'14 97p[1].pdf
  22. Saying “everything is relative” is more of a Green thing. Yellow can prioritize what perspective is best based on predefined criteria.
  23. My rule of thumb is: Orange hates Green and sees little or no value in that stage. Yellow understands and appreciates Green, but it sees Green's shortcomings and works to transcend them through systemic thinking.
