Yes I think casual sex is basically a misnomer. For most of our evolutionary history until very recently sex meant reproduction, which meant a significant investment into a future with the other person. Just because we can decouple sex from reproduction now we havent erased the underlying deep biological-, anthropological-, emotional sifnificance attached to it. This is not meant as a moral-argument and Im not saying it is wrong to have "casual" sex, but what one realizes pretty fast with some awareness and observation is that there is usually not so much casual about it. I think there is some sifnificant degree of unconsciousness needed to maintain the illusion of it being just "casual".

There are multiple crises accelerating, many of our systems are more fragile and dependent than they seem. Our societal-structures and instititutions are generating risk, problems and externalities by virtue of simply functioning and arent well equipped to solve them. Right now we see economic-crises, supply-chain breakdowns on crucial economic inputs, several escalation-pathways to world war, acceleration of climate crisis, transgressing of planetary boundaries, rapid acceleration of technology with no one able to regulate and prevent the unintended consequences, no solution to the huge refugee flows from war and increasingly from climate-change. In short the problems we face are outpacing our problem-solving capacities and are accumulating rapidly.

I often feel like they use unnecessarily "woo-woo" spiritual metaphors/concepts to describe dynamics that contain partial truths in them. When the matrix puts implants on you they talk about societal-structures like capitalist companies hijacking your attention to increase profits, which will draw you into low-energy states like anger, outrage, jealously for example. Oftentimes the partial truths can be directionally right while the concepts are very unnecessarily "woo-woo". I think spiritual-warfare is quite an adept metaphor since in modern society you will run into many phenomena/dynamics which will kill youre spirit, lower youre consciousness. I can understand the lower timeline as a metaphor that you will travel a journey that is not youre highest journey i.e. not going for youre unique heroes journey. Of course it all depends on wether you take this stuff literally or metaphorically and depending on that it can be sometimes insightful or complete gibberish. But yes the way they talk about it feels to me like it comes from pure fantasy/belief and not really based on real experiential understanding.

I love the state I get into when I take Qualia Mind, Coffee with some Creatine + 1mg of Nicotine via spray. Damn Hostel is stage 2. This is the darkest Ive watched when this stuff had a weird draw on me in my teenage years. I once worked in a restaurant where another guy in the kitchen told me he would watch gore everyday and it would be good to do that to "toughen" yourself up and be prepared and not shocked if anything happens in reallife. Which was really weird rationalization for somewhat pathological behavior.

I dont watch horror movies generally, but recently I really enjoyed Obsession. Intelligent horror and manages to be genuinely funny and genuinely scary at the same time without much unnecessary brutality (although a bit).

I notice for me it is easier to get distracted, wander and not pay full attention when I listen to an audiobook or watch podcasts. With reading I am fully absorbed into the activity, all of me is going into all of the activity and it is easier to get into a flow state. You can also perfectly adapt the speed to the level that is appropriate for your comprehension of this topic.

Evolution is very interested in you being interested in women. If there wasnt enough incentive to put our bits together we wouldnt be here. But youre probably more interested in the subjective/1st-person experience. I think overall its an ingenious design, it makes life so much more alive, interesting, adventorous, playful, fun... And as a motive it is atleast to a degree behind almost everything one does - it gives everything fuel.

Watched it yesterday. Insanely exciting times to come if only some of what he says turns out to be true. But so far what is happening pretty much aligns with his story.

I agree with you that it definitely makes a difference if you read the original authors and sources or reading secondary sources from Stanford Encyclopedia for example. And reading the the real work has some unique value, which you dont get from the secondary sources. But specifically Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy and Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy gets recommanded by almost all professors of philosophy and is way higher quality than an wikipedia article. Since it is quite impossible to read all the major works of philosophy these places are often the best way to get a good understanding.

Thats exactly the view that Owen Cook is deconstructing in many of his videos. If you dont get good with girls you dont get good with girls. If youre fit and financially successful you can still be socially-weird, stifled, kinda autistic etc... and then the guy comes along who is just more funny, charming, playful etc and she is way more attracted to him.

For me it also almost always has some quality of paranoia. Also it almost always leads me to contemplate my thought-process and getting very deep insights into the nature of thought and also the capacity to turn off thoughts completely.
