Lately I've been playing around with different produce (fruits/veggies) that I don't normally buy. I came across beets and decided to give it a go. They're such an easy and healthy snack and are VERY nutritious. Here's a couple different ways to use: Option (1) Roasted. Turn your oven to 400F (205C) and preheat. Cut stem off of beet, wrap in foil, and place in the oven for 55 minutes. Boom! Killer snack. Option (2) "Purple potion" (blender required). This is a cold drink that incorporates (1). First, roast beet; let it cool off and chop after cooking. Next, place beet in blender cup with frozen blueberries and carrot juice. Blend & enjoy! Beets are super good for the circulatory system, so make sure to give it a try and pay attention to how your body feels afterwards. Cheers.

@BornToBoil There are exceptions to the rule; I'm not denying that. You're still young, right? You'll figure it out!

@Matt23 This will help. When in doubt, Wiki shit! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windy_(weather_service) -
@BornToBoil Right, but I'm saying that it's hard to know who that one person will be without meeting a bunch of people first. It's kind of a numbers game (similar to if you're a man looking to date women). Perhaps list out the qualities you're looking for on paper and talk to more people in public. Bring up what you're interested in. Of course, this is hard to do, given the pandemic. Options are limited, so do the best with what you've got! In the meantime, be your own best friend.
-
@BornToBoil You don't find a best friend. You make a friend and if the both of you have good chemistry, then the relationship will last. The best way then, is to make a ton of friends and eventually you'll really click with one of them!

@Old Wolf Keep meditating. It will shut your brain up in the long-term (calmer limbic system). Pay attention to how your body feels when you overthink, especially your head. When I overthink, my head gets stiff and warms up like an overheated computer. Feel into your body more and that can potentially balance out thought. Takes practice though.

@Preety_India Have you played around with the different settings on the right-hand side? You can look at the wind patterns at different altitudes in the atmosphere as well as blips of precipitation, lightning, clouds, ocean waves, pollutants, and live remote sensing imagery! -

@diamondpenguin Enlightenment literally, literally, literally cannot be put into words. But we do it anyways because as humans, we cannot help ourselves. The way I like to put it is that it's a non-experience. You realize yourself as the entire universe. And since you are ALL of it, there is nothing. Why? Because all bases are covered. You can't perceive or sense any of it because YOU ARE IT. Total mind-blow! A kind of creepy part about it is that you realize that there is no "self" to enlighten because all of it is already you. Following enlightenment, feelings and perceptions (how you relate to the world) change for the better. I don't yet know much else than that; I still have a lot to learn myself. My advice is to take it slow; don't try to awaken as fast as possible, because there's tons of emotional labor involved and you'll wanna spread that out over time. (It already sounds like you're in no hurry, so that's good! Life purpose is just as important as awakening in my opinion. In fact, awakening can be a part of your life purpose! ) Ken Wilber on nonduality: It is too complex to be known,; too simple to believe; too present to be grasped; too here to be felt. Best of luck. -

He's sounds like an Expert/Conscientious (orange) ego going against the tide of Conformist (blue) egos. Orange loves to use sex and profanity to mess with blue. But he is very calm and collected and I'm not really sure how to account for that aspect. Maybe a personality type?? -
I literally just got off the toilet to post this... If you blend it with berries, then it will have a sweeter flavor. But the earthy taste of the beetroot is still there, forever.

@True Friend I agree. I wasn't saying that clothes will get you laid per se. I was just pointing out not to dress like a douche.

@Leo Gura You just made my day.

@mandyjw @fridjonk That reason alone makes it worth it. The health benefits are just secondary

Idk man, I've never seen a woman flash. Have you? If flashing your dick is out of integrity with who you are, then don't even entertain it. But if it's your cup of tea, then do it. Otherwise, deprogram these beliefs, they're not helpful.

@Barbara Aha! I think about this all of the time. For me the forum-person relationship is spotty. I typically show up after a month break and take a quick glance. Before I know it, I'm full of inspiration and become obsessed with taking practical advice and helping others for about a week or two. Then I'll break away again. There are so many wonderful people on here, that I'm always thinking "Gee, I wonder where all of these amazing souls will be in 10 years?" The future is bright!

They say that you're the average of the five people you surround yourself with. If you could choose any five beings, past or present, who would be your core? They can be anybody that inspires you. Be creative and choose mostly names that others haven't heard about before; it's easy to say Leo or Ken Wilber. Enjoy! My core: 1) Daniel Ingram (arahant/Buddhist teacher, MD, author) 2) Byron Katie (epitome of unconditional love, creator of The Work) 3) Jad T Jones (men's dating coach, keen sense of purpose and integrity, authentic) 4) Susanne Cook-Greuter (linguist, developmental psychologist, scholar) 5) Andre Doshim Halaw (Zen priest, school teacher, author) NOTE: I just realized how hard it is to put people who aren't already in the spotlight somewhat. Maybe after another 10 years of research I can jot down more rare individuals!

This one has been pretty inspiring for my spiritual work. The lyrics from 2:33 to 3:24 are on point.

@Abdelghafar Is that your personality or just what works for you? Do others hold you back? @Reciprocality Well that's a diverse group of characters!
-
@Hardkill Be careful who you listen to.

Reframe this thread as "Another date, another step closer to success." Get some paper and write about a few things. Inquire about what's holding you back. How's your energy in your interactions? Is it giving? Are the dates too planned? Are you putting pressure on yourself just for that one moment when you want to kiss her? Good luck.
-
@Abdelghafar It's probably because 90% of the time posting on old threads is spam. If you go to a really old post, it will have a brown tag on it that advises you to start a new one.

@Lyubov I'm not good enough to pull that one off @datamonster I've never been obsessed with looks. It's more about finding a balance: you want to dress in clothes that make you feel like yourself and look good too. I have plenty of outdoors clothes like Eddie Bauer fleeces and hiking shorts/pants. Love them, but sometimes practical clothes aren't the best to wear 24/7. I'm just looking for variety and different clothes for different settings. Anyways, thanks for the well-rounded advice! Ha! @Thought Art It sounds like you're on the right track. Hold on to your hunches about your secondary life purposes (e.g., being a spiritual teacher) - those visions will grow over time if you truly believe that you want that. I suggest that you have fun every day for the rest of your life. Nurture the fuck out of yourself, and your creative visions should automatically strengthen. Also, don't put too much pressure on yourself to preform. Aim for 75% performance each day; on your good days you'll naturally exceed that. Just keep on reminding yourself how AMAZING the payoffs will be. Hope this helps ~
