What is a good way to check if you are bias about something? The problem I see is that generally a bias is forged by "perceived facts" which are very slippery. Also can a self known false bias be healthy if it helps you progress though life like "heard mentality"?

You couldn't be more wrong. This is the heroes journey in a nutshell. Your failing to see that the shell is like beliefs. When you push into uncharted territory its dangerous and painful but that is where the learning comes. Strength through vulnerability.

While Peterson's theory is backed by a lot of evidence it can be used in a shellfish way. I believe that some will adopt this belief as a means to justify aggressive behavior.
The utility in Leo's idea lies in that if you push though difficulty you will be rewarded for that. During the soft shell phase is where you might encounter back lash and fear. Almost reminds me of the scaffolding metaphor.

You could sample his teachings and adopt what works for you. What works for you? Ask yourself and feel it out dont rationalize. Also there will be things you know you need to do that will be uncomfortable but remember thats where the growth comes.

I am referencing the Moth man here cause It draws a good parallel to this question. Was wondering about the idea of an entity shattering your psyche. Something so advanced that just coming in contact with it mental breaks you. What if you were meditating one day and you did cross a boundary into another world with other malevolent beings? Has anyone encountered or have heard accounts of this?
